I did think the Time Dilation was cool, that once shrunk to under an inch the normal but relativley mountain-sized animals and humans seemed to move in slow motion. That's something I would like to see in stories, where after they are small enough that communication isn't practical the time spent being smothered is quite literally a longer experience for the tiny

the thing is that childhood doesn't just end when you turn 18 or when you turn 21. it's going to end dozens of times over. your childhood pet will die. actors you loved in movies you watched as a kid will die. your grandparents will die, and then your parents will die. it's going to end dozens and dozens of times and all you can do is let it. all you can do is stand in the middle of the grocery store and stare at freezers full of microwave pizza because you've suddenly been seized by the memory of what it felt like to have a pizza party on the last day of school before summer break. which is another ending in and of itself

I wonder how many KH fans realize that the name of the old Mentor character is just the name of the Company that makes Kingdom Hearts, but spelled backwards. It seems so simple, but it leads to a cool moment when you get to share it with the members of the community that haven't noticed it yet. The whole point of The Shitty Little Fairy as an archetype is that the shitty, bratty attitude is compensating for a lack of agency due to essentially being a person shaped insect. The Shitty Little Fairy is Shitty because she is too Little too accomplish her goals or be taken seriously by those around her, she is reliant on the, by her perception, clumsy, slow, giant humans to get things done and if they'd just LISTEN to her, things would get done so much faster, easier, cleaner, and so on. The Shitty Little Fairy is more aware of what she cannot do, and then revels in what she can do, so she gets impatient when she sees a solution that only her giant companion(s) can act on, and expects praise and recognition when presented with a solution only she can act on, which can sometimes become a superiority complex.

And all of this is punctuated by the fact that being very small means you are in a lot of danger. Even if cartoon physics and comedy rules keep actual harm from befalling the Shitty Little Fairy, getting swooped by a hawk, swallowed by a toad, locked in a bird cage, stepped on, swatted, pounced on by a cat, stuck in a mouse trap, falling into a bucket and getting her wings too wet to escape, straying too near a bug zapper, or just grabbed out of the air, is still frightening and humiliating. The world is full of things that remind the Shitty Little Fairy that she is small, weak, and vulnerable, reminders that she is reliant on the giant, clumsy, slow humans for safety as well as agency. She has very good motive to be Shitty.

Anyway like halfway through writing this post it dawned on me why Shitty Little Fairies are always depicted as dainty women, and there's probably a more educated response as to the gender politics behind this fictional archetype and how it interacts with misogyny and the perpetuation thereof, but I'll be entirely honest, thinking about a manhandling a woman that fits in the palm of my hand makes it very hard to think clearly. (I am very gay)

Since I'm considering making new designs for my Redbubble shop, I'm thinking about my Plaidified Disney Princesses, including:

Sea serpent Ariel

Classic giant Snow White

And Rapunzel with a Jack and the Giant Beanstalk twist

Unfortunately, from what I researched, Disney isn't partnered with Redbubble's fanart program, which means selling Disney fanart is copyright infringement. But that doesn't mean I can't make my own designs based on the OG fairytales... [insert eyes emoji]

Anyway, just an idea I'm contemplating. I'm currently still figuring out details about Giant Kaiju Ladies designs and eager to see your suggestions--this fairytale concept is just a fun idea for future reference (and some cute G/t art for my fellow g/t-enjoyers haha)
