faolan? as in Wolves of the Beyond?

Kinda. I did first discover the name from Wolves of the Beyond and it stuck with me since it’s an Irish name, much like my legal name and it means “little wolf”, which was easier for me to remember. It was also the only name from the series that I could easily remember because they were names I really didn’t know how to spell in middle school or had any idea how to pronounce.

I currently don’t have a good view on the Wolves of the Beyond series because a lot of stuff that flew over my head as a middle schooler is stuff I generally would nowadays find extremely ableist , and I’m speaking as someone who is on the spectrum and is therefore neurologically disabled. The whole prophecy at I believe Spirt Wolf where the disabled characters were literally referred to as “broken” and foretold to be “fixed” and later went from disabled to able bodied ( except for Faolan’s love interest because apparently being made disabled is different than being born disabled) doesn’t really sit well with me nowadays, more in a “holy shit, we really didn’t realize this is a problematic message” way .I’m not saying that I hate the series because of that, but it’s just my biggest criticism for the series as a whole.

Despite my criticism ,the name did stick with me enough that I did end up naming my MC from an otome game Faolan, which I did chose to rename some of my other blogs to a variant of “Faolanmoon”. It does all tie back to Wolves of the Beyond honestly lol.
