I think this painting is nice, but I don’t like it. I don’t like it because I think it is a bit of a boring painting. But, I think that it is painted very well, but I can’t see what is in the background.

COLOUR: Ultramarine, black, white, yellow, blue, red, green.

SHAPES: curved and pointed The effects are that the painting looks realistic.

MARKS: The window, the tiles and the (dutch) light. He has that in many of his paintings.

COMPOSITIONS: The light from the left creates a triangle composition with three things in the painting; the window, the map and the pitcher.

SURFACE: He uses the ultramarine for reflective surfaces just like in the window and the glass shadows are  in blue to reflect the light on its smooth surface.

SCALE: 45.7 x 40.6 cm I don’t think it would have a different meaning if it would be a other size because it’s still the same painting but just a other size.

SPACE: In this painting he plays with optical illusions using his camera obscura. He plays not only with the light coming in from the window but also how it reflects and fills the room and bounces off the pitcher.

MATERIALS: The material used was oil paint. It is a traditional material. I think it would look a lot more different because of the oil.

PROCESS: It is made with a style called baroque. He has also used the camera obscura too make reflection(see SPACE). He used it too to see how and what he had to paint. He has made it himself and not fabricated it.

i like the photo’s because its really cool to see it in black and white. it looks realistic but if i look very good then it looks like its fake. but it isn’t, that makes it so special for me.

quality contrast, the colors are mixed with black and white color tints, colors are mixed with white  color shades, colors are mixed with black impressive colors, we see the colors a little bit sad expressive colors, the colors express a bad feeling

art is a lots of things. it can be painting, drawing, photograph etc. it is a creation of somebody, that some people like, but other people don't like. it don't has to be beautiful for you but maybe other people love it. i like this painting because its so funny to see. the baby in the picture lies on the ground, but it looks like the baby is in the mouth of the shark. its 3d. thats very difficult to draw. it looks like its real.
