I'm achieving new levels of zen when every time my boss says something about my work performance that feels like a slight against me, my work ethic, the quality and results of my work, all I think is "none of this shit matters" and suddenly, I do not care! This is a skill I will slavishly continue to hone.

Take Action!: Protect abortion care at Veterans' Affairs
From the Chicago Abortion Fund:
Earlier this month, the Trump Administration’s Department of Veterans Affairs proposed a rule that aims to:
reinstate an extreme abortion ban for anyone who gets their care from the VA, and
completely restrict VA providers from providing information or resources about abortion care to veterans and their families.
eliminate coverage of abortion care costs through the VA health program
If this rule goes into effect, over 537,000 Illinois veterans and their families will lose a critical access point for abortion care and information – alongside millions more nationwide.
Take Action! You can join us in submitting a public comment on the proposed Veterans Affairs Abortion Ban until September 3rd, 2025 at 11:59PM EST. Your comment can include your name, be on the behalf of an organization, or be anonymous! See a full template at the end of this email for a quick copy/paste, or write your own comment. Talking points can include: Why abortion is essential healthcare How this policy would harm veterans and their families Why people, including veterans and their families, deserve the full spectrum of healthcare A personal story about access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare and/or counseling at a VA health clinic A personal story about access to abortion care and/or comprehensive options counseling, including any legal barriers (or lack thereof) that impacted access
Comments can be submitted here.
Template provided by Chicago Abortion Fund:
Template Comment: My name is (name) and I am based in (state). I am writing to express my deep opposition to the proposed rule change VA-2025-VHA-0073-0002 that will ban abortion care at VA health centers nationwide, eliminate coverage of abortion care costs via the VA health program, and prohibit abortion counseling by VA providers. People relying on the VA for healthcare deserve access to the full spectrum of reproductive care, including abortion, free of unnecessary legal barriers and restrictions. Abortion is essential, time-sensitive healthcare, and by blocking access to healthcare the VA is directly endangering the health, wellbeing, and safety of veterans, their spouses, and their dependents. If this proposed rule change is adopted, pregnant people who are relying on the VA will once again be forced to travel further, face more financial barriers, and experience more shame and confusion — just to access common, necessary healthcare. Others will remain pregnant against their will, unclear on their options and pathways to abortion care, or paying for that care. It is extremely concerning that the VA has proposed a rollback in this policy, particularly in the midst of a national abortion access crisis. Now is the time to expand access to abortion care, not take it away for millions of veterans and their families nationwide.

The cleanliness issue with my niece was so bad (because she was a baby and was routinely getting her food in her hair), the dandruff had hardened into a cap on her scalp. My sister, her mother, lamented how hard it was to keep it clean. I said, "Why don't you cut it short so it's easier to clean and harder for her to get peanut butter in there?" because I was also observing how my niece kept pushing her hair out of her face. My sister looked at me like I was an alien. She didn't cut her hair.
I can’t believe people put their baby girl’s hair in tight little ponytails even though its just wisps lmao just keep their hair short until theyre older

I didn't learn to use a rice cooker until solidly in my 20s, so here you go: How to make some goddamn basmati rice (I will not entertain any others, but the process is essentially the same):
Get however much rice you need, I don't care. I wash them once or twice for fun because I buy the gold standard of Basmati which is Royal Basmati ONLY but washing may be necessary if you've got a less reputable brand.
OPTIONAL - My mother likes letting the rice soak a bit in water to speed up the process. I do this in front of her to appease her but I otherwise skip this step.
Drain as much water out as possible.
Put some olive oil on a not-shallow pan (doesn't have to be DEEP but definitely not shallow) and heat it up.
Once oil is hot, dump that rice in and let it sizzle a bit in the oil for a few minutes.
Season with salt. This is eyeball'd, I am a home cook, I don't know what to tell you.
Let it cook in the salt a bit. Move the rice around, but be advised the less you touch it the better. But you also don't want to actually make it hard.
Pour enough water to cover the rice. If you want to speed things up a little, you can use warm/hot water or heat up water in a kettle or something.
OPTIONAL - Chuck a bay leaf in there. Or two. I can't stop you.
Cover. Don't fucking touch it.
DON'T FUCKING TOUCH IT!!!
If the water cooks out and the rice doesn't look cooked (you can taste test, but you can also visually tell), just add a bit more water. THE LESS YOU TOUCH IT AT THIS STAGE, THE BETTER.
Once the water has nearly cooked out, turn off the heat.
Let the rice cool off a wee bit before turning it.
It's ready. EAT.

I regret to inform this is an extension of men's porn-fueled fantasies of girls' trip or women traveling in general--as shown in Drake's 2015 Hotline Bling.
Ever since I left the city, you, you, you You and me, we just don't get along You make me feel like I did you wrong Goin' places where you don't belong Ever since I left the city, you You got exactly what you asked for Runnin' out of pages in your passport Hangin' with some girls I've never seen before
When men travel alone, or travel with other men, it's to be sex pests at best and rapists at worst. They assume the same of women, who obviously would only ever travel to find strange dick.
Tumblr media
We have got to make men lonelier.

Like almost every female video essayist on Youtube, Alonzo constantly shoots herself in the foot by taking the most mild criticisms ("overconsumption is bad") and bending over backwards to make sure no one ever has to look themselves in the eye ("--but it's totally okay if you like it!"). Also that she dodges any white nationalist/heinous misogyny in the tradwife "trend" but considering she is a military wife who has many Mormon friends, she probably can't risk pissing off half her real-life social circle.
But posting a 50+ min video just shamelessly kissing ass to some random rich woman I have never heard of ohhhhhh Alonzo you have fallen the fuck offfffffffffff

In a case squarely aimed at breathing new life into the federal Comstock Act—and at thwarting the efforts of abortion-friendly states to protect providers and patients—a Texas man has sued a California doctor for allegedly mailing abortion pills to his girlfriend and is asking the court to prevent the woman, who is currently pregnant, from having another abortion.
In a wrongful death lawsuit filed Sunday, Texas residentJerry Rodriguez is accusing California-based Dr. Rémy Coeytaux of violating numerous Texas abortion laws, as well as the Comstock Act—an 1873 anti-obscenity law that is still on the books—by providing the abortion pills that were used to terminate two of his girlfriend’s previous pregnancies.....
