My favorite discourse is when progressives/leftists start talking about insane religious regimes as if they'll, like, put America in its place and not that they are insane religious regimes who actually would also ruthlessly flatten any progressivism.

Discourse has mildly started over the Chicago mayor wanting to get CTA to get people to stop fucking smoking on the CTA trains--something I have both personally witnessed and smelled on numerous occasions.

Winning comment in the discourse went to the individual who correctly identified that everyone wants Japanese/Singaporean style train systems, but not the rules that got them there.

I've been house- and pet-sitting for my cousins while they have a beautiful European getaway, and their dog is the most well-behaved creature I have met. Her great failing, however, is that she is insanely anxious and if she can't be by your side every second of every day, she will die (or shit the rug).

This has been cute for the first week, but as I enter the final days, I am actually starting to go insane. Will this child let me have a moment's peace?

Decided to watch all of The Boondocks because I'm trapped in suburbia petsitting for family and while there are still some banger episodes, the show/writers/creator(s) have such a frothing hatred for women and ESPECIALLY Black women, any time an episode has to focus on issues that involve women, its satire ability suddenly drops to negative two hundred.

Somewhere in the 3rd season, they inexplicably decided to do fuck nothing with Huey, where he became a background character all the way to the end. The final episode had like no cleverness to it. It was just "Riley, don't call people this slur" and then Riley drops the slur and Grandad says "Riley, don't call the slur people a slur". Rinse and repeat for 20 min.

I've tried my hand at re-staining furniture for the first time and the first results are maddening. I think it is SO UGLY and half the people I show agree, half think it's cool. I'm going to re-sand the living shit out it anyway and try again.

One nice summer day, I took a quick bike ride to the local dry cleaners in a t-shirt and shorts, paid for my clothes, and took them home. Later on, I realized how much of that little errand, totally thoughtless to me, was out of reach for millions of girls and women around the world (riding a bike, going out without a male chaperone, showing my arms, legs, hair, body, paying with my own bank account, not worrying if the employee inside is male or not so I know if I can even interact with them).

What's extra irritating is that this is a phenomenon that is almost entirely focused in the last six months. If you go back to videos older than that, the thumbnails are way way WAY more normal and not frothing at the mouth with hatred for women.
