James Carter Cathcart, the voice actor behind several iconic Pokémon characters like James, Meowth, and Professor Oak, has passed away at the age of 71. He retired from voice acting in 2023 due to throat cancer.

Here's a tribute to James Carter Cathcart with James and Mewoth from Pokemon. And once again, thank you, James Carter Cathcart, for voicing James, Mewoth, and all of the Pokemon fun. So farewell James Carter Cathcart you will always be in our hearts…and yeah, last time, I drew Misty, Jessie, and Jigglypuff being sad about Rachael Lillis, now it's time for James and Meowth to feel bad about their voice actor, James Carter Cathcart.
