Prof. Pericles Falling In Love with You (Headcanons)
Tumblr media
[Thats right. I got freakier by writing about an old, German parrot that is also evil]
[Pre-Relationship]
-I definitely see him falling in love with someone completely unexpected (to him, at least)
-Whether it be someone from the past working for Mr. E or even someone from Mystery Inc//insert your chosen team’s name (in this case, it is the latter)
-You’d be just another person in his way of possessing world domination, of course.
-He’s patient with you at first, excusing your attempted debunking of his plans and almost enjoying the way you fail miserably.
-Especially when it came to the pieces of the planespheric disc.
-He seemed to find amusement in your failings, which meant he didnt totally hate you.
-Which is good.
-But that amusement merely stems from the fact that you and your gang dont pose that much of a threat to him
-Until you are.
-You’ve stolen back the planespheric disc from the orginal Mystery Inc, and the professor is certainly NOT happy.
-Cursing your absolute existence (you being the leader of your ‘little band of misfits’) even late into the night
-See, Professor Pericles hasn’t lost in a long, LONG time. So to lose to you, some clumsy, meddling, mystery-solving mess, BOY did that scar his pride for life.
-He just kept thinking and thinking about you (even if he didn’t show it) and trying to find out HOW in the world you managed to pull a fast one on him.
-(Lets say that in this universe, you are smart enough to not have broadcasted your whole plan to the entire ori Mystery Inc.)
-He beats himself up over it for the longest time, then hatches a plan to attempt to get rid of you and your gang, once and for all.
-Somehow, he does eventually get a hold of you. And you alone. You specified that part to him, not wanting to bring everyone down with you.
-He proposed to you a deal. Work together to find the treasure, or hand over the pieces and get torn to pieces.
-You scoff at his words, naturally. He clenches his little claws as you smiled.
-Instead of saying a thing, you two quietly circle each other. Analysing. Waiting. Surprisingly similar beings.
-Pericles hated that. Because he’d spotted it since he met you.
-Because you made him feel equal to you. Either in a degrading way or rather in a way that dignified him.
-Perhaps that was why he’d fallen for you. HARD.
[Confession!!]
-The professor would NEVERRRRRR lower himself down to a puny human’s level of courting.
-He was a distinguished parrot of extremely high intelligence.
-So all he did for about 6 months was follow you around, send other people to follow you around and bi tch about you to the other members of the ori Mystery Inc.
-After your little private meeting with him, his thre ats ceased for the time being. Instead, he pushed more monsters into your way, cleverly making an array of cascaded dominos like the masterminded birdbrain he is.
-In reality, he wanted to see you. And the secret cameras he placed in certain parts of the city (where you often were) helped with that wanting.
-But it wasn’t enough. It never was enough. He always seemed to need more of you.
-Of course, you were oblivious. The sudden spike in mysteries were AWESOME. You got to stretch your legs and put your brain to work while having fun with the gang.
-You had an idea that Pericles was behind it though. Always had.
-But you didnt think anything of it. He never threatened you or anything.
-Not yet, anyway.
-This went on for a period of time until you both were ready. Pericles decides when that would be.
-So one day, you were out on your midnight run when familiar smoky-purplish feathers fell around you.
-You just chuckled when he asked if he could join you. As I said, you weren’t exactly bothered with Pericles (he was a threat, but you couldn’t raise his ego anymore than everyone else already had).
-Eventually, you stopped to catch your breath, sitting on the curb to tie your shoes again.
-He landed beside you and made no move to talk or attack. Another good sign.
-You leaned back slightly and looked down at him. You heard him mutter something in German and you leaned in closer to hear better.
-He was attempting to play it cool and be his usual, charming self.
-But you foiled his plans.
-He gets slightly frustrated//angry at himself and sputters it out in English. Something that sort of was a mix of “let me court you”, “I like you,” “Be my mate.”
-And you know this motherfucker mates for LIFE.
[RELATIONSHIP LEVEL!!!]
-If you choose to go through with it, congrats! You’ve avoided death and chose a charming, manipulative, evil little parrot as a life partner instead!!
-Okay, yeah, so that seems like a lose-lose situation, but Pericles has his perks.
-Yes, when you first started dating, it was strictly a secret. And after it wasnt anymore, he would always brag about you being the one to confess, and how you were to be with him.
-But until that time, you and Pericles’ had a sort of enemies-in-a-relationship thing going on.
-You’d fight in public, against each other in every aspect.
-And then go home to cuddle on the couch and watch psychological horror together.
-You and Pericles were able to separate work and personal life pretty well. Better than most, at least.
-Of course, sometimes you’d get pissed at something Pericles accidentally said that you deemed too far.
-To which he’d fly through your open window, give you a peck and lightly apologise (in his own way)
-You’d also talk about the treasure. What the planispheric disc would lead to.
-He believed it would be something that brought him immense power. You believed it was a curse.
-But you tried to be reasonable. You didnt want to fight. And even rendered him speechless a few times, even if he did try to play it off.
-You made him think. Wavered his beliefs. You were trouble to him and his life’s work.
-But he adored you. He truly did. Even if he didnt show it all that much.
-You were similar to him. But the opposite in nearly every sense. Always on opposing sides as well. And the worst part was that Pericles knew you always fought for what was right.
-He didn’t deserve you. Though he really wanted to. Which fueled his need for the treasure. If only he knew where you put that damn disc.
-Pericles tried to pry it out of you, caressing a lock of your hair as he sweet-talked you. You just kissed his feathers and told him not to worry about it.
-But he damn well nearly spiraled. He grew more agitated day by day.
-One thing he knew was that his attraction for you started because you saw eye-to-eye with him. Literally.
-You treated him the way he’d always wanted to be treated. Like he deserved. You didn’t see him as an animal.
-You never did. And now he was your mate.
-So you talked and talked, reassuring him all night. Despite his reluctance, he attempted to let go. He wanted to. For you. He wanted to try.

POTA Headcanons: Apes x S!ckReader
Sorry I’ve been away for so long. Everything’s finally done so lets hope nothing happens this time around. Hope yall enjoy this one!
Tumblr media
CAESAR
-Yall be so fr Caesar is one of the best partners in the world
-At one miniscule cough or sneeze, he’d wrap an arm around your waist and ask if you’d wanna go to the medical hut.
-Even if you tell him you’re fine, his brows would still furrow in concern and he’d still check your body temperature.
-If you turned out to not be sick, he’d still keep a close eye for any symptoms anyway.
-But if you are and your symptoms get more obvious, he would urge you to come with him to the medical hut and stay with you until he’s ABSOLUTELY certain that it isnt something serious
-When he’s sure, he’ll bring you back and lay awake, brushing your hair with his fingers and watching you cause he cant sleep.
-He’s extremely paranoid that it does turn out to be terminal that they couldn’t detect with the lack of proper technology.
-Losing another mate would absolutely CRUSH this man and he knew he would probably die from that kind of heartbreak.
-He pulls you closer, his arm around your waist as he squeezes a little tighter at the thought.
-Early in the morning, he attempts to find some extra teabags lying around from your stash so he can make some tea for you
-You’re still fast asleep and cant get up to tell him where they are, so he just tries to find them himself by rummaging through your bag (in an organised manner)
-Cannot find any and gets really frustrated about it, until you reassure him that you’ll be okay with some fruits for breakfast.
-Like the gentle ape he is, he feeds you as you lay in bed with a wet cloth over your forehead that he previously uses to wipe your flushed skin before folding it up. (I’ll assume he knows a lot of these little home remedies from his life with Will)
-He squeezes your hand gently, still as worried as ever, but a kiss to his cheek from you eases his soul.
KOBA
-Koba tends to pay a lot of attention to what you do, even after you’ve become his partner.
-He definitely notices when your body language seems more tired and you look more pale than you usually do
-He wont approach you in front of everyone if you’re doubled over in pain, but will most likely check on you when you’re safely in his nest already.
-He would silently cup your cheek and you’ll watch his brows furrow in worry for the first time.
-Koba would also mutter something that sounded like “Stupid human…always getting sick.”
-Then he’d go get some sustenance for you and sit back, watching you eat slowly.
-If you’re sick enough to throw it up outside moments later, then he’d run to your side to check on you.
-I do think Koba’s the type to know to hold your hair back, because he’s seen it get in the way of a lot of your daily tasks.
-That night, he watches you sleep, his mind too fast for him to do the same. He’s genuinely worried and though he’ll never admit it, afraid.
-Afraid to lose you, afraid that he’ll go back to being his hateful old self because as much as he hates how weak he feels with you, you took away his pain. He’s afraid that if you go, it’ll come back tenfold.
-He presses his face into your arm and holds onto you like you’ll fade into the night.
-The next morning, he goes scavenging, alone this time. He rode his horse out of the colony, but got along on foot at the borders of the forest.
-He finds human buildings there, and skilfully sneaks into one of the houses. The owner must’ve been away, for the house was silent.
-He searched the pantry and drawers, collecting food into a sack he had. He found medicine and clothes upstairs and stole them as well.
-He found a couple of other things, like blankets and towels and figured you’d need them too, for the winter and for your baths.
-Before the town woke up, he took off into the trees, and raced into the colony on his horse.
-He slowly and quietly stepped into the hut you shared with him and found you shuffling around, struggling to get dressed.
-Koba quickly went to help, steadying you just before you fell and pushing you gently back into the bear furs.
-“Human…MUST rest.” He scolded you in a condescending tone, as if he takes care of himself so well, the hypocrite (that you love so much)
-As he scolded you, you had a rather lovesick smile on your face out of appreciation of how much he cares for you. He grunts at your smile, almost rolling his eyes, mirroring the way you do.
-After you fall into another deep slumber, he pulls out his “borrowed” gifts, placing them neatly around the hut. The blankets and towels resting by your nest and the food and drinks somewhere reachable so you would wake up and see them, before he leaves to complete his hunts for the day.
ASH
-He’s the type to panic a little bit when you get sick/show symptoms.
-This is because he’s never really seen a human at their weakest before as well, only perceiving them as strong beings (seeing as how easily they’ve captured and kept apes in cages for a long time before him), so its a shock to some extent when you do get sick.
-It really started when he woke up in the middle of the night, laying on your chest, listening to the soft pumping of your heart.
-Then he hears you breathing weird. He got up a little and saw you pale and sweaty.
-He panics, attempting to nudge you awake, to no avail. He brings you to the medical hut and stands aside as they try to revive you.
-He’s been around pain his whole life, but when it comes to his mate, the human he loves the most being in pain, he completely crashes out.
-He stares at the ground, not bearing to look as he imagines the worst-case scenarios.
-Of course, however way it went, you died in his head. Whether it was of the Simian Flu, or some common virus. He knew the apes weren’t equipped to handle that. Which honestly stressed him out even more.
-When you did wake up, it was with your head hammering, your heart pounding and a quiet, stressed ape by your side.
-He stared at your with his big, green (?) eyes and ever so slowly reached out to touch your face, as if you’d break at any moment.
-“…Human okay?” (He uses your name btw) He’d ask, with knitted brows.
-To which you’d hold his hand and tell him you’re okay because GOD KNOWS THAT BOY NEEDS IT after the long night he’s been through.
-Ash would lean in for a hug and rest his face in the crook of your neck, his arms squeezing you a little tighter than usual.
-You shush him gently, reassuring him that you’re perfectly fine and everything is good and well
-Unfortunately, he doesnt buy it. He hasn’t had any experience with mates before, but he has a sixth sense when it comes to being mindful of others’ emotions.
-He lets you rest the next day, going off to collect and cook veggies, herbs and spices in boiled water for you to eat (soup).
-He comes back with a bowlful and a makeshift glass of water, hoping you feel well enough to eat.
-you tell him you dont have an appetite, and he sets it aside, resolving to helping you feel better with a cuddle session instead.
-You trace your fingers along his scarred shoulder and he kisses your wrist lightly, the both of you feeling better already.
BLUE EYES
-Blue Eyes spent the afternoon doing what he usually did: hunt deers and patrol for signs of human life.
-It was routine for the young prince.
-Often he had forgotten just how much he had to lose now that he has you as a mate (he is under assumption that you are practically as untouchable as long as he was).
-This was one of those days. Well, it was.
-Rarely he is reminded that you are indeed, not immortal despite your amazing perseverance and skilfull nature.
-So imagine how surprised he was when he came home to see apes from the medical hut in his shared one with you.
-Surprise then turned into panic real quick.
-After about an hour or two, he had gotten some news. It certainly wasn’t good.
-You had, apparently, fallen extremely ill due to contracting a currently unidentifiable virus.
-They had no idea how serious it was, but was already attempting multiple methods of treatment.
-As well as taking a few cautionary meassures, like putting you in quarantine, so you couldn’t getbany worse.
-None was allowed to visit during the first day of observation.
-Noa was distraught, paranoid and worried to the point he couldnt sleep.
-He missed you.
-Literally ever ape who came across him could see that.
-It only got worse when he was allowed to visit you again.
-His soul was crushed as he saw you on the makeshift bed, weak and frail and exhausted from your illness.
-But the worst part? He knew he couldn’t do a thing about it. He wasn’t used to that feeling. He didn’t think he could ever get used to it.
-Blue Eyes wanted to shut himself away, to avoid the fact that you were sick.
-Until his dad smacked some sense into him, pulled him out of his panic attack and told him that he needed to be strong. Because you needed that right now.
-So he did. He started gathering food and pelts for you to use to keep you warmer.
-But he knew it wasn’t enough. He needed to find some actual medicine for you.
-Blue Eyes walked the border, hoping to find some humans that knew what they were doing.
-He walked and walked till he frightened a group of humans close by a river.
-Trying his best to speak, he told them about your condition.
-Fortunately, the backpacks they carried were filled to the brim with necessities, like extra clothes, towels, medicine, etc.
-They were kind enough to give him one.
-He promised they would be left alone and said nothing when he came back.
-Blue Eyes quietly set the backpack by you, and pulled everything out, arranging them neatly by your side.
-You demanded (albeit, weakly) to know how he got these, afraid he may have stolen them from someone who needed them more.
-But he reassured you with a kiss to your forehead. All was well.
-Though, he was very impulsive when it came to his love for you.
-He’d do whatever he could to keep you and you knew that.
-But you trusted him.
MAURICE
-Maurice was always an observer. A damn good one too.
-He could always tell if something was off with the apes. Or with you, his beloved human mate; even if you were a little hard to figure out sometimes.
-Which is why you knew you had to keep it quiet when you got sick from playing in the rain (he told you not to beforehand, so this was just your pride talking.)
-It was also you trying your best not to worry him too, holding back your coughs.
-But he’d already known something was up when you didnt spend as much time with the young ones as you usually would.
-You were afraid they’d get whatever you got. You hoped it was a case of the common flu. But who could tell?
-You were also seen less during dinner times, which definitely raised a few questions.
-When he visited your hut, he found you sick in bed, sneezing up a storm.
-It was also unfortunate that the night he decided to check up on you, you’d started to throw up your breakfast, lunch and your sorry dinner the night before.
-You tried to tell him you were fine, but his long arms picked you up and cradled you in a steel grip that shut you up.
-He nuzzled your head in a reassuring manner, showing him that everything would be okay (even if he was unsure and worried himself)
-You ended up falling asleep in his arms out of exhaustion, waking up in his own hut moments later with dinner already ready and waiting.
-He’s in a corner, having gathered some human clothes and blankets and other necessities that Macolm (yes they exist in his headcanons) had given to him after he told them of your troubles. -Then he helped wash you lightly with a wet cloth (since you couldnt get out of bed that night) and pulled you close, his body heat and his soft fur lulling you to a much more comfortable sleep.
-Maurice was certainly clingy when he was worried for you.
-At least you could count on him to not leave you alone for the entirety of the week.
Tumblr media
NOA
-Noa had gone out on another hunt for the two of you to find food for dinner.
-This was less of a necessity and more him trying to impress you with his ability to provide.
-Naturally.
-After his thrown spear sunk into the flesh of the buck he stalked, he was proud of himself.
-After all, he knew he was able to bring home something that would make you proud of him too (you are proud of him no matter what though) -Then it started to rain heavily, as if a storm was coming. In the middle of spring??
-Because of this, he was forced to take cover and return home only after it was deemed safe.
-He didnt count on how strong your loyalty towards him was, though.
-After you learned of his hunt, you made your way into the forest, attempting to tell him that you had enough food and he shouldn’t waste his effort on meat that would spoil after less than two whole days.
-A thing you did almost daily, because the ape was very stubborn. Of course, you thought he’d only be a few yards away.
-You didnt know he was deep in the forest. But then again, neither did he. He knew how to make his way back home no matter how far he went.
-But you couldn’t. You were still a little new to this part of the forest and still figuring out what the land of the Eagle Clan borders.
-All the trees looked the same, so you had no landmarks.
-You only panicked when it started to rain. Which made every 10x worse since you couldn’t rely on your vision.
-Not with the thick grey clouds swirling in the sky, and not in the dewy mist of the morning after.
-Noa, however, made it home safe, the remnants of his hunt slung over his shoulder (half eaten, for he knew it couldnt last long in the humid weather).
-He got to know you went out to look for him from Anaya.
-He dropped his hunt, and rushed back out to look for you, riding on his horse this time.
-Noa found you, drenched and shivering with only the thinning, makeshift jacket around you.
-He quickly brought you back home, apologising as much as he could for making you worry, for getting you stuck in the rain, etc.
-You had to shut him up with a gentle flick to his nose, a playful gesture that at least showed him you weren’t angry at him.
-But you needed to focus and convince yourself you were fine before you could do the same to him.
-You weren’t. Your temperature rose that very afternoon, and you had no strength left in your limbs, even if it were to lift them.
-That made Noa feel even worse.
-He did everything he could to help you, shut in your shared hut and stayed with you for the entirety of your sickness.
-You wanted to complain that he was being too paranoid, but you had to admit, you loved the attention. And his company.
-And he loves you. He loves the moment of peace you give him and the comfort you seem to always bring around with you.
-Of course, he still felt guilty too. But as you rubbed your thumb over his calloused knuckles, he knew you didnt blame him.
-Noa made sure to reduce his level of stubbornness after that day, though.
ANAYA
-No backstory for this sweet thing. Because that’s how sudden it felt for him.
-You woke up with a headache, which evolved into flu, then a fever.
-Then a mix of all three, with a case of vomiting out every single intake of food.
-Anaya didnt know why. He tried to find the cause of your illness, understanding that you were much more fragile than he.
-If it was something serious, it was always better to find a treatment sooner rather than later.
-At least you weren’t getting worse. You weren’t getting better either though.
-He noticed that.
-Noticed the way you struggled with simple tasks and how you couldnt bear to look at food.
-He was practically force-feeding you water too.
-But Anaya remained patient and calm. In front of you, obviously.
-He knew if he panicked so openly, you’d never heal. He had to be strong for you.
-He also knew he couldn’t cry. Strong, warrior apes didn’t cry. Noa would certainly laugh him out of the clan if he did.
-Anaya had gone out to collect herbs (ones he’d sneak into what little food you could stomach nowadays) along with a bucket of water.
-He dipped a cloth into it, wringing it out before he dabbed your face with it.
-You closed your eyes, enjoying his gentle touches, as you always did.
-He then folded the cloth up and rested it on your forehead, his right hand on top of it.
-Among satisfying your food cravings, he also tried his best to help you with other things as well.
-Your clothes were within reach, your vomit bucket resting at your bedside. He also helped you with menial tasks, and kept your shared hut clean.
-He was trying. He really was.
-Anaya met your gaze, attempting to hold back his tears when you blinked at him in lucidity and gave him a weak smile.
-How could someone so full of life, a force of preciousness, so sweet and amazing—could be so… reduced by illness?
-He couldn’t understand it. Not when your weak hand rested on his, squeezing gently in reassurance.
-Anaya choked out a sob. He just wanted everything to be okay again. But he didnt know how it could be.

Okay Im sure everyone has seen the Beauty and the Beast “Evermore” trend and HDIAKKXJAKZJXJAJZBDJAJZBDHAJ
Every time I think abt it I think about the Beast as like Koba and obv the reader as Belle and an AU inspired by this premise would be NCJKAKZJAKXJJA
Because okay like think about it. Koba’s cursed with his trauma, and the Reader just comes along and he keeps her hostage during the war against humans bc some apes had already been taken by humans too. But Koba and Reader fall in love and all that HOWEVER she has to go back because a parent figure has been found helping save some of the apes held hostage in human prisons and said parent figure got caught, she has to save them. Koba sadly watches her leave, expecting she’ll never come back (Koba singing Evermore will send me into a mental breakdown actually) AND WHILE SHES GONE the Alpha-Omega Faction storms the apes’ homes and Koba is almost killed, when Reader comes back and murders tf out of the Colonel causing the rest of his army to retreat while also saving Koba and the rest of the apes in the process. THEN THEY KISS AND LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER CJKSKZJSKXJDH
Once again, this was a random idea, and may be a lil baseless/ridiculous but I thought it was cute at 3am :>>>

Guys why do i feel like after writing so, SO much about Koba, I cant go back to writing well about Caesar???😭😭😭
Cause like a lot of people who argue that Koba’s words were valid/justifiable and the actions sprouted from him throughout the movie is perceived as a sort of misunderstood villain that no one listens to bc they’re all blindly following Caesar who is also blind, and it actually just like MAKES SENSE-
So idk how tf im gonna write for him anymore after this.

Where The Beast Waits
Tumblr media
(Slightest angst, fluff and possibly bad writing)
After months of staying with the ape colony, you had very well become one of them, establishing your own place in their daily routines and existing almost naturally within the ecosystem itself. The young apes adored you and you were respected and cared for by the other apes as you did them.
It felt like a decade, really, instead of the 9 months it was. You had spent your spring, summer and your autumn being observed, or rather watched over as you learned to fend for yourself and contribute to the apes’ survival as well.
You had ended up here due to you being sick and having been quarantined away from the humans as they stated they would ‘come back’. You didnt blame them, since they were afraid it was the Simian flu.
So they had placed you in a designated location and left you in total, complete isolation to fend for yourself. You wouldn’t have survived if you hadn’t left and been found by Caesar and Koba. Truly, you owed your life to the apes.
So you packed up your things and said your goodbyes; hugging the apes you were close with, and saying your last words to those who helped and those who were acquaintances. You went to meet Caesar to finalise your time there. It would’ve been rude to not tell him.
You yourself agreed, alongside him and his advisors that you could not return. For the safety of the apes, of course.
But that didn’t quite cushion the pain as well as you thought it would.
You still felt a longing, thumping deep within you. After the forged bonds that would certainly never leave you for years to come, you weren’t surprised—anyone would’ve felt the same had they been subjected to know the apes as well as you did.
Assuming (gaslighting yourself) that it was merely for some kind of human contact or interaction, however, you had willed yourself to leave a day early without telling a soul—a little earlier than what a certain grumpy bonobo would have liked.
He told himself that it was the annoying lack of an extra pair of eyes when he was out hunting, or the supposed mess you left in your hut, along with the ‘smell of human’. Or maybe it was the fact that now there were one less pair of hands to take care of the little ones so he was the one who had to find an ape for the job.
He did all he could to avoid the truth and made up all the excuses his mind could muster. For the truth was…inexplicable. It was messy, and could—would only turn messier.
But to Koba, it was an impossible thought. The truth came to him once in a fever dream, and he has avoided it like the plague ever since.
You know what, maybe it was because he hated change? Yes, that was most likely it.
And he especially hated the kind of shift in his mind you brought him to. Like a wrench thrown into the gears of hatred and desire for revenge against all of humankind. The thought that injected itself into his brain like a parasite only about a month ago.
He had been sent out look for more prey to hunt, meat to prepare for the winter—or rather that was what he had been told. He knew what Caesar was up to, he just wanted Koba to look out for the unpredictable human.
Koba agreed, you certainly needed some protection before you break a bone, but he wasn’t the ape to do it. He could barely complete a conversation with you, after all. But Caesar had already shoved him out of their short meeting and sent him on his way.
After walking for about a mile, he stumbled across an opening, full of herbs and spices and bushes. He breathed in the natural scent of the crisp, cool air, mixing with the various colours of autumn born from the life cycle of the forest itself. It was alive as he was—and it amazed him more each time it arrived.
Suddenly, he heard loud, annoying footsteps and the crunching of dry leaves and immediately knew who it was. You were the only one in the colony wearing large hiking boots, after all.
He hid quickly and quietly behind a thick tree trunk and peeked out from behind it, his fingers tightening on the bark as he spotted you.
You weren’t hurt, surprisingly. He was sure you would’ve broken something out here alone. You were bent over a large plant, and brushing your fingertips over the leaves in a gentle manner.
His breath hitched, as he saw how focused and silent you were. You weren’t plotting, you were just deep in thought. Somehow, it made him wonder what went through your mind as he too, subconsciously quietened his usually loud breathing.
Perhaps he wasn’t as stealthy as he would have been on his daily hunt. He was rather thrown off today, for unknown reasons. So while trying to back away from the scene, he stepped on a twig, which created a loud snap.
You quickly turned your head towards his direction, your focus momentarily broken from the large plant in front of you. Your eyes softened after realising who it was, which made Koba’s own widened, ashamed of having been caught spying.
Yet you just smiled, and beckoned him to come close. He grunted bitterly in refusal, not wanting to be involved in stupid human activities, as he called it.
But after you just turned back to the plant and paid him no mind, his curiosity got the better of him. After all, what could’ve been so important that you were willing to risk your life out in the open like this, let alone turn your back to a dangerous ape like him?
He thought you were rather stupid for that, and that you should’ve been more guarded. Then he reminded himself that he shouldn’t care. You’re a human. Humans are all weak, and flexible.
Despite his words, his head darted around, to secure the safety of their surroundings anyway. His surroundings, of course. Totally not yours.
He leaned in, looking only a little away from your shoulder while you were on your knees, caking them in the mud on the forest floor. You took the thick, waxy leaf and ran your fingers along it.
“Look. Aloe Vera, we humans call it. Good for healing young apes.” You say, with a smile. He raised an eyebrow, looking down at you. He did not returning your soft gaze (shocker).
“Human…do not trust ape plants?” He asked, jumping to the conclusion that you were trying to undermine the apes’ discoveries of the herbs and plants they already had sprouting in the vicinity of the colony.
You shook your head quickly in firm denial, having expected that Koba would take it the wrong way. “No. No, Im not. Its just…a suggestion.” You whispered under your breath as you began cutting the leaf out from its stem so as to not ruin its quality, which certainly wasn’t easy.
Koba grunted again in quiet acceptance of you reason. He wasn’t convinced, but he was pretty surprised to see a human go through all this trouble just for a few young apes that caught a small flu.
He watched you work to gather a few more leaves with a struggle. His arms were crossed, and he had a subtle smirk on his face. He had to turn away briefly to keep himself from smiling completely like an idiot.
You were certainly good at that. At making him feel like an idiot.
When you stood up, he did as well, pushing himself off the bark of the tree. He huffed, mounting his horse and taking the reins again. “Get on. Almost sunset,” he said, in a rather demanding tone.
As you held on behind him, your fingertips brushing against his back, a smile crept on your lips. Koba meant well. And you understood that deep, deep down, he knew you did too.
The horse tripped on a particular large vine, and you were brought to grip his torso tightly. He gripped the reigns a little tighter and tensed up at your touch.
He closed his eyes to calm himself to some extent, and much to your own surprise, he allowed you to hold on without so much as a glare. In fact, he didnt turn to you, not once.
But he felt your forehead rest against his scarred back, and your fingers running through his thinning fur. Not going too far, but not nearly close enough to ease the pain, the burden he had been carrying for years.
Koba allowed it. Allowed your touch, and your presence being in the same vicinity as his was. He had to admit, the young apes were right—you were very warm.
He thought you were different. He knew you were different now that you were gone. He had felt what the other apes felt, that you had taken a piece of them with you. It was so…human of you to do so.
To give and give as much as possible; more than what was necessary and more than they’d ever seen someone do for them, then leaving with your generosity and the aftermath of your kindness.
Perhaps Koba was right the first time around. It was better this way, without useless human chatter that he seemed to hear every time he stepped outside of his hut. Even now. It was better without your soft eyes and your calming presence that even the little ones missed. And your warmth—oh, how cruel it was that you had taken that with you too.
Koba hated being wrong. Especially when it comes to humans. But for the first time in his horrible life, he wished he was.
Despite the way you’ve carved your space among their colony and blended perfectly into their environment, you’ve managed to squeeze your way out just as well. Back to them. Back to where you supposedly belonged, back to the other side where nature would be pleased.
And that was what Koba hated the most.
[End POV]
The journey through the jungle was a long one. But you figured it would all be worth it, since you’d see the people you considered your family in this time of despair. You’re sure it would be worth it.
When you came to the broken neighbourhood, you took a deep breath. Here we go.
You were nervous, since you haven’t had any human interaction in literal months. Anyone would be. What if they suddenly decided you weren’t a part of them anymore?
Humans fragile that way.
You jumped. What the hell was that?
Maybe you’d lost your mind already. It had been far too long.
You gripped your bag a little tighter the closer you got to human civilisation. You were nervous. You didn't know why—you had dreamt of this moment for a long time, ever since your quarantine.
Or had you?
I mean, you never expected to make it out of there alive. You’d either have been torn to shreds or died from the virus.
Or perhaps you hadn’t been tormented as everyone said you would. Humans had been teaching each other how they should be scared of apes, and the danger they posed to humanity’s survival. How any interaction, good or bad, should be avoided with the apes.
So when you were forcefully placed into a small cabin that had barely enough space for you and barely enough food to last in the forest of unknown territory, you were terrified of what might happen. But you attempted to prepare yourself for everything that could be expected.
Until you didnt. Until an unknown force that you had never known existed pierced through your heart and seeped its way to your soul.
You didnt want to believe it. Not now, not ever. It was a wrong feeling, let alone equated to an ape. Mankind’s biggest enemy at large now. A threat to their spot on the food chain.
When you came to the town, no one was waiting. Of course, why would they be? What did you expect, a parade?
You walked the empty streets. Sure, it looked like home, but the apocalypse had made it look like a complete wasteland. You made your way to the house you shared with a few friends. It was a three-story terrace house, just enough for five people and maybe a few extra on sofa beds. It wasn’t much—but it was home. Or considered one, at least.
You didnt bother knocking and just went inside.
Inside, you were met with wide, shocked eyes instead of the warm welcome you expected. It was as if they already deemed you dead, and your corpse was standing in front of them.
You looked up at them and mustered a smile. “Hey. Been a while, huh?”
They quickly recovered and got up to get a blanket for you. They sat you down and asked questions in a way that was almost interrogative. They had been roommates with you for about a year or two, so the least they could do was express how happy they were to see you healthy and happy.
Instead, it was all “Where were you? How did you survive? Did you meet…them?”
You didn’t answer truthfully, to say the least. No, I didn't see a single ape. Yes, I thrived out there. You made up more lies and a bit of believable nonsense of low probability.
But they believed you. And went on with their lives.
You liked to believe that these people, your closest friends throughout the whole pandemic of the Simian Flu and the falling of humanity, would at least have tried to make you feel missed.
But they had been doing fine without you. That was the truth, wasn’t it?
As much as you’d like to pretend this was new, that it was probably because they had been waiting a long time for you to come back, and had just gotten used to being without you, this has always been the case.
They never needed you. They didnt when you left, and they dont now.
You remembered the way they’d attempt to include you, just to talk over you and pay no attention to a word you’re saying unless one of them repeated it. It was annoying, living with people like that.
And the constant chatter. The complaints, the lack of self-awareness. Of course no one was perfect, but you thought no one could ever be that unbearable either.
Humans cold. Cruel. But weak.
There it was again. A voice in your head. It sounded a lot like…
No. You couldn’t think like that. The past is in the past.
The longer the night dragged on, the more your mind wandered to other things. Being left sitting in a sea of your misery while your friends had fun and got drunk on vodka they raided really helped with that.
The whole time you were there, they were so intent on disregarding your thoughts and your inputs that you couldn’t help but ask yourself what you’d done to them. What made them exclude you. What made you so different. What changed when you came back?
Then it was clear to you. They hadn’t changed, they just started to become who they really were. Express what they really thought of you.
A doormat that listened to all their problems. But that was all you were allowed to do. That was all you were good for.
You sat in front of the fire, speaking with Maurice and discussing how you would be leaving. Your conversations were normally accompanied with broken sign language on your end and you using your words a lot.
As you talked and laughed, goosebumps crept up your skin as you felt yourself being watched. You turned around, and your eyes met his good one.
He stared you down, something he hadn’t done in a long time since he deemed you useful. Since he deemed you safer than most humans.
You hadn’t told him you were leaving, as you had just told Maurice and Ceasar. Why would you? He wouldn’t care. You knew that.
So why was he staring at you like he’d been stabbed in the back by your spear?
Instead of sitting down a little away from you, as he normally would, he huffed, and stormed off, leaving the scene as quickly as he came.
You were more than confused and looked to Maurice for answers. To which Maurice suggested you just outright talk to Koba. He advised against using tense or confrontational language, though. Obviously.
You got up, and knocked slightly at the entrance to his hut, making yourself known. He looked up at you, and growled menacingly.
You flinched. He hadn’t growled at you for a long time. You almost missed it. He had allowed you into his personal space, and even mustered up the will to have literal conversations with you instead of grunts and glares during the remaining months you stayed here. So why now?
“Koba…I’m coming in”, you said, determination evident in your voice. You didn’t want to leave on a bad note with him.
Koba growled again, but let up since you let yourself in anyway. You were stubborn enough when the situation called for it. And this one certainly did.
He towered over your small stature, and circled you. He was guarded. As guarded as the day you met and it worried you.
“What are you doing? Why are you—“ acting this way, you finished in your head. Reacting to Koba was the worst thing to do, you knew that. You needed to respond, not treat him like an animal. Like a being lower than you.
“Leave.” He said, glaring at you. “All human..do. Leave. Now.”
You looked up at him, shocked at his words. You didn’t understand what was going on at all. “I dont know why you’re mad. I thought you of all apes would be happy I’m—“
He stepped back again, when you reached out for him. He stood away from you and huffed as he sat down “Leave Koba. Leave apes.”
It was your turn to roll your eyes. He was being impossible now. Even you had a limit to bullshit. “Hey, we all know I can't be here forever. I'm a human, remember?” You crossed your arms, your own body language guarded as well, and he read that loud and clear.
For a moment, the room was quiet as your words sunk in. When he didn’t answer, you had just about enough and got up to leave. But he wasn’t done.
He snarled, and got up as well, looking at you in a rather threatening manner. “All humans…weak. Run and hide. But always…fight. Never…care about ape. Only care about…winning.”
You stood, looking at him in complete silence. You know you’re a human. You just wished it didn’t have to be like this sometimes. That you weren’t even involved with that word.
He gave you a cold smirk, and waved you away, as if dismissing you from his line of sight. “Just like them. Leave.”
Your eyebrows furrowed out of frustration. You put up a lot from him, but everything he’d said had stung harder this time. You reached out and grabbed his shoulder.
He took that action as intentional hostility, and snarled again, bearing his teeth this time. You stepped back quickly as a large stone soared past your head, missing you completely.
“Leave!”
That was the night you packed the rest of your things, tears streaming down your cheeks. You had no right to cry, you know that. Koba knew it too, so you held it together well in front of him and left without a word.
He was right and so were the humans. You couldn’t argue with beasts.
The next morning, Caesar came to check on you the next day, he saw your empty bedding. It confused him, and he told the rest of the apes so.
Koba avoided everyone’s eyes. He didn’t think you would actually leave. He should be happy. Joyous even, at the news. It proved him right about all humans.
It had also increased his aggression towards humans and other apes, so a lot of them were a little afraid of him.
He was satisfied with that. With what he had done. At least, he thought so. After all, your response was brought out after he provoked it. But was it the truth?
You let your head rest on your knee, and a small sigh escaped you as you thought of that night. Regret was only natural, after all.
What could’ve been done, anyway? Koba would’ve still made a scene, still thrown that rock. Still pushed you away.
You sank deeper into yourself, mind replaying every little detail, as if you were trying to grasp at memories you could picture before they disappeared.
Wallowing in your self-pity, you hear a voice. A voice that was all too familiar with you. He was screaming, and it ate away at your soul to ignore him.
Human weak. Humans all fragile. Sad over nothing. Not even other human like you. Leave. Disappear. No one would look. No one would care. While you can—Leave.
You closed your eyes and relished in the vivid voice-illusion your brain conjured up that sounded a lot like the real Koba. You’d heard it all too many times now. Maybe it was there for comfort, but you heavily doubted it was the comfort you wanted.
It was what you’d needed though. A harsh, demanding voice calling you back. To him.
So you stood up, and sauntered out the door, while the others were busy. You had muttered a small excuse in case they asked where you were going.
They didnt, of course. Most of them were passed out on the couch, without a care in the world.
You had taken a few necessities, like your journal and some food with you. And of course, stolen some clothes.
You wished things were different. They could be, if perspectives were exchanged, or if they ever thought of how you had felt. Maybe if they valued you, appreciated things you’d done, it would’ve very well turned out differently.
Maybe Koba was right. Humans had become insanely self-absorbed, and that made them weak.
So you grabbed your backpack, snuck out the door and ran. You ran as if you were holding your own life in your hands, and the weight of the world crashing down on your shoulders.
You followed the path in the woods, and slowed to a walk. You had run out of energy after your sprint, but was content the farther away you got from the remaining humans.
You walked without a care in the world now. You walked like you were free. You are free.
You walked hours upon hours, until you came to a clearing you knew all too well. You fell to your knees out of exhaustion, leaves crunching beneath you.
The night was unusually cold. Surely not as cold as you remembered it being.
Winter is coming soon. It is getting closer and closer.
The dying bushes surrounded you in a circle and a cold gust of wind blew, making you tuck more of yourself into the jacket you wore. But you were still wearing shorts, for it was more or less all you owned. You were pretty helpless out there.
You shivered and let out a sigh as you closed your eyes.
Before you knew it, you had accidentally drifted off into a deep slumber on the forest floor, a hand gripping your jacket zipper, the other gripping the grass below you.
Koba awoke groggily in the morning, and was grumpier than he usually was. He threw his felt off himself, and stumbled out of his nest to continue with his morning routine.
He plucked a few berries from one of the bushes around his hut, and chewed them as he mounted his horse again. He was to secure the surroundings of their home, to make sure no unwanted visitors showed up.
As he checked the reigns of his horse and tightened them to a more comfortable position for it, he couldn’t help but glance at your empty hut.
For a moment—and only a moment, he had a forlorn expression in his eyes. A sad, powerful desire that had never been felt by the bonobo before.
But he turned back to the reins quickly, and took off with a grunt. He was used to being alone while he scoured the forest. It allowed him to be thorough without having to wait for any other ape—or in your case, he did tend to wait for you, a weak human that could’ve easily gotten lost, and therefore depended on him.
The smallest smile formed on his scarred face and disappeared as quickly as it came.
He came to the clearing. Your little spot, where you went to hide from the world. It was out of his route, and a little bit farther than he was supposed to go; but it was almost as if the place had a pull, tugging at his heart and beckoning him closer.
He led the horse towards it, the trotting of hooves becoming louder as it crushed the red and brown leaves below.
Koba came to, eyes searching the area. It was like time itself had been frozen, stayed waiting for him again. He dismounted to get a closer look.
That’s when he saw you. Lying on the ground, motionless. In your state, shock and panic, among other feelings arose in him.
He ran to you, and knelt down as he held your hand tightly. He pulled your torso upwards, his right hand holding yours as he supported your lower back with his left hand. His ear pressed against your chest to listen for a heartbeat.
Steady. But slower than he’d liked.
With a grunt, he lifted you in his arms and slung you over his shoulder. He wrapped an arm tightly around your waist as he got on his horse and rode into the colony again.
He couldn’t help but feel slightly worried. What had you been doing out there? Have you come back? Were you dying?
As these thoughts flooded his mind, he leaned forward in his saddle as best as he could with you on him, gripped the reins of his horse and thundered through the forest.
The forest echoed with the sounds of hooves thumping against the dead leaves of autumn, the quick wind hitting his face as he rode.
When he arrived at the colony, he hopped off his horse and hurried to get you to the medical hut as the other apes stared in horror.
Afraid that Koba might’ve done something he shouldn’t have. Afraid that Koba did something very, very horrible. He seemed to have gotten on more aggressively when you left and they were afraid he finally snapped.
But he ignored them and placed you down on the soft furs with as much gentleness as he could bring out of himself. After much examination, a bowl of fruits and some herbs were brought.
You had passed out from exhaustion when the temperature dropped significantly and your breathing had slowed because of the minimal amount of clothes you wore which exposed you to it.
Koba could almost have rolled his eyes when he heard that. Of course you almost died. He could’ve killed you himself for falling asleep defenseless, too. Did you learn nothing from him nor the apes?
He sighed as they handed him a soft, damp cloth. Without thinking, he wiped your face with it—by instinct. His thumb brushed against your nose despite the cloth.
For a few seconds, he allowed himself to admire the softness of your skin. How natural it felt in his calloused, scarred hands.
He folded the cloth, and placed it over your forehead; the same way he’d seen you do with sick apes. Then he sat back on the ground and waited for you to wake up.
You stirred awake about an hour later, turning to sleep on your right. Your eyes adjusted to the light of the morning sun, enjoying the warmth as your hands gripped the soft furs beneath you.
You blinked again, your eyes meeting a blue-gray one the other a milky white with a huge scar. They were as intense as you remembered them.
You rubbed your eyes out of fear that you were hallucinating now. But you weren’t.
The bonobo realised you were awake, and slowly approached you. You looked alright to him. He grunted in soft approval and spoke.
“Stupid human…sleeping on forest floor. Want to die?”
You let out a soft laugh, the sound ringing in Koba’s ear and warming his heart. He didnt want to admit it aloud, certainly not to you; but he missed it. Missed you.
He could hardly believe it himself and wondered whether you felt the same. There’s an extremely slim chance you did.
But that chance grew with the way you looked up at him. With adoration and respect that he had never been looked with before and definitely not by a human.
You sat upright, groaning as you rubbed your temples. He watched you briefly, to make sure you were alright. You ran your fingers through your hair, the light hitting it at an angle that made you look ethereal.
He stared without realising it. He had stepped back to give you space and watched you breathe in the morning air before yawning.
He looked down at his own hands. They were rough, and he was missing a few fingers. He felt strange around you. Again.
You looked up at him, noticing his distance from you. Your hand reached out and touched his wrist gently. His eyes met yours, in a gaze similar to your own warm one.
He stepped back again, and grabbed the spear you had left behind when you rejoined humanity. Koba tossed it to you and your hands caught it by muscle memory. You looked at him in confusion.
A teasing smirk appeared on his face as he walked towards the entrance of the hut. “Come. Apes need food.”
He left without waiting for you, so you quickly gathered your thoughts and stumbled outside to join him.
This is his routine—and yours too now. You’re home and home is wherever he is. For a long time now, you knew that; while Koba just needed to learn to be at peace with that thought.

POTA HEADCANONS: KOBA
Tumblr media
[FIRST ACTUAL POSTTT, so im sorry for grammar or spelling mistakesss. I’ve seen so many people (one or two) with headcanons on this and for some reason its always Koba being insanely aggressive about the whole interaction?? To the point that its literally ABUSIVE when they start dating??? Like obv yes, he would be guarded at first but trust takes time, and in Koba’s case, it comes with a side of HEAVY reluctance, denial and many other complicated feelings. I'm here to write about what I think those are❤️]
[Pre-relationship]
-Koba comes off as aggressive, rude and overall obnoxious in his own way. You steered clear of his angry glares and huffing whenever you spoke to the other apes.
-If you know sign language, that’s a small advantage towards his attitude towards you. At least you’re willing to stoop down to the apes’ level (as he sees it)
-Unfortunately for him, you had proven your worth by getting the hang of things and fitting in easily in about like a week? Good job!!!
-If you dont, and you’re more of the clumsy/forgetful type (me fr let's be best friends), then it does take him a while to stop complaining to Caesar behind your back about every wrong thing you did.
-But nevertheless, he still had to accompany you occasionally when you were out hunting, fishing, or picking berries. You learned these skills rather too fast for his liking. There was something about a human that could blend in as easily as any ape that made his stomach churn.
-Maybe it was due to his personal experiences with humans, painting them in a greedy and selfish light in his eyes. So of course, it's abnormal to him that you’re anything but.
-It gets even stranger when you start cleaning a little bit around their huts and their nests, and taking care of the little ones. It makes Koba grit his teeth as he watches your every step (its a daily thing now)
-He tells himself he’s watching out for the colony. Keeping an eye on the black sheep in case you had a gun you wanted to pull out on any of them.
-He even searched your own belongings, but all he found was “stupid human things”. No gun, because why would you?
-The knowledge didnt exactly ease his mind, but it took him about three months to finally be comfy enough to turn his back to you.
-During these months, you had pulled your weight as much as any ape, and even helped drive away a few humans.
-It also helped that you seemed to listen intently to every word he said, even if it seemed harsh or cutting to others. You also listened AND agreed when he talked about his hatred for humans.
-Congrats!!! You validated his feelings (something Caesar himself could never do) and maybe you aren’t such a weak human after all.
-Koba begins to HELP you as well. He normally would never say a damn thing when you worked, since you were a weak human that deserved to suffer a little bit. But the next time you went with him, and your hunt ran away, he tracked it down for you and killed it himself.
-He even managed to crack a smirk (without the angry glare) and say, “Human…not good hunter…as Koba. As apes.”
[Catching Feelings + Confession!!]
-This little pattern of banter, of listening and talking between you two had earned Koba’s trust.
-He didnt want to admit it (and never will), but he didn’t exactly watch you as much as he used to. At least, he didnt watch for the things he was supposed to.
-He didnt watch for red flags or signs of betrayal, instead he watched you smile. Laugh. Joke with the other apes. He felt a pang in his chest. That feeling only got bigger whenever he saw you nudge or pat one of the other male apes. Specifically Caesar. He knew how much Caesar favoured you.
-He didnt know how far that favour went, but he certainly didn’t like it. He knew attempting to be in good graces with a human was impossible.
-There were two choices now. Pull away, or get aggressive. And we all know which one the grumpy bonobo preferred.
-By aggressive, I mean with his affection.
-He started helping around five times more than usual. He went on every mission he could with you, and showed off how strong, amazing and capable he was. He even learned how to pick the sweet berries you liked.
-He also tried to spend more time in your hut. Just to know you. Know what kind of human you are.
-Until one day, he wakes up with the realisation that everything he had done was practically just one big courting ritual.
-This sent him into the five whole stages of grief. -Yes. All five of them in which I will describe briefly.
-Denial (him waking up in cold sweats every time he thought of his feelings and pacing his nights away because he cant stop thinking about you and the idea of being your ma-NO!!!), anger (him breaking nearly all of his things whenever he thought of something as disgusting as feelings. He broke more every time he realised it was for you, A HUMAN. That goes everything he stood!)
-Bargaining (which would consist of him attempting to ask other apes or state how disgusting/disgusted they would all feel if they saw a human and an ape courting each other, to which literally everyone expressed how they wouldn’t care).
-Depression (he shut himself in his hut for days, making you deliver food for him because of how sweet and caring you are, which only added to his distress.)
-And finally, acceptance. He invited you over, and begrudgingly had a long, LONG conversation about the past month and his little spiral. He felt a lot better after that. Maybe talking wasnt such a pathetic human thing after all.
-It was the first (and ONLY) time he would ever be vulnerable with a human
-His feelings are a whole other thing. He had to subtly slip them in by saying, “Human…should be with ape… like Koba.” On the subject of your apparent “liking” towards Caesar and his liking towards you.
[Relationship level!!!]
-FINALLY!!!! You managed to gain his trust completely, get him vulnerable and admit his feelings towards wanting to court you.
-Now wherever you go, Koba follows. Whether you know it or not. Be so fr, he knows you’re a weak ahh human and you need him. Even when you’re just out scavenging, he definitely puts in effort to go with you. Even if he acts like he hates it, any close proximity with you works!
-His love language (surprisingly) is physical touch and acts of service.
-That includes the small touches that he doesn't flinch at, even if you are a human. He is hesitant at sharing his nest, and it takes him a long time before he allows you in his personal space like that.
-You normally left on your own when you realised how late it was getting, but by coincidence one night, you may have fallen asleep on accident and he may have let you stay and draped a blanket over you.
-It took him MONTHS more to allow you to sleep in the same nest with him. But when he did, he would most likely be the clingy one after you fall asleep. -He felt his most vulnerable when you were in deep sleep, and felt free to cuddle and cling to you as much as he wanted to without feeling paranoid or on edge.
-Yes, he trusted you. But you were still human, and his scars would most likely never fade. But with you being asleep and still holding him, it certainly helped ease his heart.
-Koba also does not take care of himself as well as he should. You find yourself picking up after him, and bringing him food because he refuses to eat. He tends to prioritise the other apes, and the little ones of the colony instead of himself.
-He’s very stubborn about you feeding him. It reminded him of how humans used to when he was back in the lab. But of course, you let him feed you back, so he got over that quickly.
-Playful Koba also comes out to tease you occasionally when you mess up or accidentally make a mistake. His remarks are more in jest than his snide ones that you were all too familiar with.
-He knows how fragile you are, after all. Its almost comical to him.
-You also get a jealous, slightly possessive Koba! As far as he’s concerned, you’re his now. If any ape attempts to touch you or does, he glares them down. But then again, Koba glares at nearly everything, so the other apes aren't too concerned about it. (Obv your relationship is private, because Koba believes its no one’s business)
-I do believe he also has the tendency to listen in on your conversations when you’re alone with other apes, just to make sure you’re safe😊
-That’s not to say there arent any fights. But when they do happen, its normally over small misunderstandings.
-Koba jumps to conclusions fairly easily, and spirals a lot afterwards. He shuts himself up and stays away from you too.
-Like when he thought that you were secretly meeting up with humans, but you were actually threatening them not to come back and honestly just doing his and Caesar’s work.
-He DOES NOT admit that he’s wrong. Just gently slips back into routine things with you and pretend it never happened. But if you ask about it, he’ll deny that he ever acted that way.
-You’re trying to work on this with him ofc.
Either way, he’s definitely a pretty good partner despite all his little flaws and his hatred for humanity (that you share, obviously. I dont think any Koba fans are IN LOVE with humanity😭😭). He also handles things really well since you’re listening to him and yall getting married in five years AND have ten kids. YAY!!!
