a long stretch of silence. he looked off into a place beyond her and rested his chin on his palm as he wondered through it. silence began to wind itself around the pair and pull. finally,finally, he returned to their world and, with the beginnings of a smile pulling at his lips, eloquently provided, ❝ you vex me. ❞
Death lurked behind her eyes and lips that knew not of genuine smiles anymore pulled their corners up still. And she put on an act of surprise. “Vex you? Oh YOU are a funny one, my dear boy.” She kept her eyes steady, looking off into the stretch of sky beneath her. Two lone figure, sitting on top of a tower that overlooked the whole city, but where else could one find a little bit of peace in this calamity one dare called a city? Why ever had she wanted to be a part of this? The lit windows, like telltale proofs of the souls residing there, ready to be sent over. “And how exactly do I do that? Is it simply because I am of pure blood ? ” The bitterness almost hidden perfectly in her voice, her head clouded with memories on how she was called a traitor and how easily they had tortured poor Blue Demon so for what she had selfishly wished for.

❛ Repost & BOLD which lines of famous poetry apply to your muse.
i saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked. // tyger tyger, burning bright // i have done it again. // do not go gentle into that good night. // the sea is calm to-night. // let us go then, you and i, // april is the cruelest month. // pretty women wonder where my secret lies. // there is a place where the sidewalk ends. // i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart) // two roads diverged in a yellow wood. // whose woods these are i think i know, // let us twain walk aside from the rest. // once upon a midnight dreary, while i pondered, weak and weary, // i taught myself to live simply and wisely. // it so happens i am sick of being a man // i wandered lonely as a cloud // does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? // o my love is like a red, red rose. // o captain! my captain! our fearful trip is done; // out of the night that covers me // it was many and many a year ago //you may write me down in history // do not stand at my grave and weep // some say the world will end in fire // some say in ice. // hope is the thing with feathers // the wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees, // no man is an island, // remember me when i am gone away, // i met a traveler from an antique land // ‘twas brillig, and the slithy toves // this is thy hour o soul, // when we wear the mask that grins and lies, // death be not proud, // and death shall have no dominion. // laugh, and the world laughs with you; // the art of losing isn’t hard to master; // to see a world in a grain of sand // is there anybody there? said the traveller // nobody heard him, the dead man, // that crazed girl improving her music. // come to me in the silence of the night; // where the mind is without fear and the head is held high // when you are old and grey and full of sleep, // in flanders’ fields the poppies blow // i thought of you and how you love this beauty // life, believe, is not a dream // it may be misery not to sing at all, // if tarry space no limit knows // come live with me and be my love, // had we but world enough and time, // my heart aches, and a drowsy numbness pains my sense // bright star, would i were stedfast as thou art- // thou still unravish’d bride of quietness // how do i love thee? let me count the ways. // heaven is what i cannot reach! // my dear, my dear, i know // in visions of the dark night // shall i compare thee to a summers day? // break, break, break // she walks in beauty, // i had a dream, which was not at all a dream.// he clasps the ring with crooked hands.

The raven couldn’t help but SNORT at the other’s answer. Witches were one thing, but Sayaka definitely–DEFINITELY hated demons. They were the most despicable of all. The ones who must never be trusted, the most selfish creature and it says a lot about the brunette. She knew about Maaya after all. Knew about her story and how she had HURT a friend for her own selfish desires. “If that’s what you’re seeking for then you came to the wrong place. I work here so technically, you came for me. YOU are the one so obsessed with the idea of seeing me at least once a day that you unconsciously sniffed your way into my cafe like the fuckin’ mutt you are. Shoulda came after five. My shift ends then.” Shaking her head, she couldn’t help but grumble “unbelievable” to herself, eyes glancing up at the security cameras installed within the cafe. If only they weren’t there, she would have shooed the girl away before she could even utter a word. “Look. I don’t want any chaos in here so why don’t we pretend we never saw each other, hm?”
Her hand were around Sayaka’s thin wrist within seconds and it was as tight as it was fast. “Careful.” Voice dropped to a chill. Eyes that glint with murderous intent and aura that she didn’t even bother covering. Humans wouldn’t be able to feel it –– Shiver it a bit and blame it on the cold, slight uneasiness perhaps. Fools they all were. FOOLS! –– but she knew that Sayaka could feel it and she knew that Sayaka knew she wouldn’t hesitate destroying the place were she to be angered. Of course she wouldn’t. Not really. Perhaps. But the other didn’t know that and she intended to keep it that way. “Sniff my way to you? Now that’s rich. You work in almost every place in Tokyo and you expect me to remember you shift? I’m not gonna play lovers with you.” She let go of the other, and went back to her food. “Was it not you that even initiate conversation?” A sinister kid with a sinister laughter. Her fork stabbed the hamburger meat on her plate and red oozed out of it. Medium rare, just perfect.

timeliine:
Strangers called for her attention with a different name, even talked to her with an air of familiarity when they were strangers. Maaya. They would call her. The Maaya-sensei who they saw only moments ago (doesn’t that obviously prove that she ISN’T this Maaya person, then?), the Maaya-sensei who suddenly lost her plastic bag of groceries within just a few minutes. What made it annoying wasn’t the fact that this occurred for more than once already, not the fact that people would often disturb her just for a chat she could barely understand. What made it annoying was in each fucking time she would explain to them that her name was Miyuki, and that they had gotten the wrong person, they would always, ALWAYS stare at her as though she had a disease, and would start laughing and even hitting her—-a stranger—-while telling her to stop with the jokes. It’s not a god damn joke, she would often chant to herself, both exhausted from work and from the unwanted attention.
So who could blame her, really, for looking as though she was in verge of murdering the next person to call her Maaya? Who could blame her for clicking her tongue when her shoulder bumped against another’s, and for staring at the living mirror image that stood before her as she collected herself so she could say the one thing she had always wanted to say before surprise could take the best of her? “You must be Maaya.” Muttered through frowning lips as she pushed her glasses back up on her nose with her middle and ring finger; any hint of surprise in her voice hidden instead with cold apathy. In the same tone she often uses each time she would announce to an employee that they had lost their job despite their loyalty of fifteen years within the company.
And suddenly, it all made sense.
The reason why people often mistook her for the other, why she was always taken as this Maaya who seem to have the complete opposite of her personality (or so she couldn’t help but conclude as her eyes scanned the girl from head to toe). They were the clones of each other. The perfect copy. Everything—-even to the smallest of details—-alike. “My name is Watanabe Miyuki. I’ve heard of you—-from people who I believe are your acquaintances. And… Just what–,” her words finally faltered, the long delay of her shock finally having caught up. “Just what is going on? What are you?”
What could the Gods be playing on her. She could feel a laughter bubbling up her chest like bad champagne trying to make its way up. Unpleasant and bitter, made her stomach lurch with resentment. Not towards the girl, oh no, though perhaps also towards the girl. For how could she not be angry looking into her own face, like reading a passage that forcibly shoves her story and memories down her throat as chains held her down and she screamed and kicked in vain struggle. Every little thing she did. Every little word she said. Every little choice she made, whether by her own consciousness or not and the choices that were made for her. Looking into the face that so prettily mirrored hers in every thorny way possible –– like a mirror embroidered with bones, bones that were dyed blue with cold blood –– she could feel something in her contorting into something ugly something demonic. And if it was not her face then it must have been her aura for she could feel it, seeping through every pore of this fake skin she had worn ever since the fateful day and the world turned scarlet on her. But she pushed it down, like a girl putting the cap on a bottle, she did it well. She had, after all, lived for so long. “I could ask you the same, Miss Miyuki. I am Watanabe Maaya.” Even their last names were the same. Hilarious. She stared into the eyes in front of hers her eyes!!! with a long and steady gaze and if she felt anything at all, her face didn’t show it. “I think it must be the Gods playing some cruel trick to amuse themselves. Must be boring up in heaven.” Putting on a fake smile, small and tender, the assumption she had taken, the character she had built. Warm hands, cold fingertips, kisses from an angel for none of them had warm blood. She pulled Miyuki to the side of the street, aware of how they’re blocking the road. Her eyes stayed on hers. Her lips in a tight line –– not stern, not stiff, just a perfectly thin and straight line and betrayed none of the anger she felt inside. “As for what I am, I’m an illustrator. Not the answer you’re seeking of course but that’s the only answer I can give you. Believe me when I say I know nothing. We’re in the same boat here Miss. Miyuki.”

❛ You can taunt me, haunt me, it won’t change a thing. ❜
She looks up from her coffee to meet the eyes of the girl in black. No, not girl. Something who tried to pass off so desperately as a girl. Yes, that’s more accurate. Her blood boiled with resentment at the though, at the sight, at the scent of this LITTLE creature. She hated her, oh how she hated her so. Arrogant even though she was so small, aspiring to be something she couldn’t at the price of anything. She clenched the glass in her hand, restraining herself so she wouldn’t accidentally break the ceramic mug. “Taunt you? HAUNT you? Aren’t you the one doing those things to me, child? Can’t even have a decent cup of coffee without you bothering me it seems. Get a hobby, stop being so obsessed with me.”

@timeliine ;
Heard it all before. Ara? Maaya-chan? Weren’t you just in Shimbashi just now? Swear I saw you at the station. Maaya-sensei? Back already? We bumped into each other at the market just now! You’re acting weird though.... What’s going on. She wasn’t even sure about it herself. It was as if she was in ten different place at the same time. Or was she able to copy her own body without her consciousness? Ridiculous. The places she had been seen at, the things she had been seen doing –– she’d never do any of them. Why she would never even leave her room if it’s possible. So to be seen in shopping centers, drinking in open bars, visiting Shibuya of all places. Nonsense!! What conspiracy was being pulled against her? What story had the cruel heaven decided to play upon her? She hated it. She HATED everything. Canvasing the road with eyes that spoke of anger, with gaze that only knew of regret and resentment, she gripped her bag tightly in her hand. The meeting with her employer, as always, were a success. Her illustrations were perfect. The shinsengumi drenched in blood and flowers. But the gossips hammered themselves into her head. I R K E D. v e x e d. And the emotions that blinded her so, she failed to see an approaching figure and bumped right into them. Apologies that froze on the tip of her tongue, blue like the color of her dead friend. For the face that stared straight into hers was hers. Every curve and every line and her eyebrows frowned at the sight while her heart grew tight with fear and suspicion. “Who are you?”

❛ There he is! ❜ ❛ He’s my future boyfriend, he just doesn’t know it yet. ❜ ❛ I’d tell him all my feelings, all the thoughts I’ve been concealing but it sounds so unappealing. ❜ ❛ I could sit and study him for HOURS at a time! ❜ ❛ Who’s that cute little student there and why’s she touching his arm? ❜ ❛ I’ll have to cause her harm! ❜ ❛ Maybe I should clean up this body. ❜ ❛ Or just dump it into the trash. ❜ ❛ Everywhere that he goes, I’ll be there and he won’t know. ❜ ❛ Am I mad? ❜ ❛ Maybe so. ❜ ❛ Maybe I should follow here and have a friendly chat! ❜ ❛ I promise not to hurt her. ❜ ❛ Just frame her for a murder. ❜ ❛ That should sour things and get us back on track! ❜ ❛ Why is everybody a bit uneasy…? ❜ ❛ I’m not a killer or psycho. ❜ ❛ Is this fate? ❜ ❛ Is this stress? ❜ ❛ All I know is that this school is filled with murder making tools! ❜ ❛ It’s uncanny, but dandy for me. ❜ ❛ I’m not weird or a creep! ❜

❛ Spare our lives or harvest our souls. ❜ ❛ It’s up to you either way. ❜ ❛ Hey bud, you okay? ❜ ❛ No need to freak out or anything. ❜ ❛ And murder! I mean music. ❜ ❛ Poor dear, we’re here to help you. ❜ ❛ Every drop of innocent blood will change how the story ends. ❜ ❛ A pacifist will see: it only takes a thoughtful act. ❜ ❛ No pressure or anything. ❜ ❛ Excuse me? ❜ ❛ That’s not funny! ❜ ❛ Yeah, I get that a lot. ❜ ❛ Still you seem nice. ❜ ❛ Who am I to judge or blame? ❜ ❛ Talk or use silence. ❜ ❛ Try murderous violence. ❜ ❛ Nah, I’m kidding. That’s a crime. ❜ ❛ Let’s become the angel of death. ❜ ❛ Kill them all, destroy every beast. ❜ ❛ Genocide’s my only goal. ❜ ❛ Destruction is my plan. ❜ ❛ It’s kill or be killed. ❜ ❛ No, he’s trying to use you. ❜ ❛ Read between the lines. ❜ ❛ Stay determined.
