one of my favorite things to do in limited perspective is write sentences about the things someone doesn't do. he doesn't open his eyes. he doesn't reach out. i LOVE sentences like that. if it's describing the narrator, it's a reflection of their desires, something they're holding themselves back from. there's a tension between urge and action. it makes you ask why they wanted or felt compelled to do that, and also why they ultimately didn't. and if it's describing someone else, it tells you about the narrator's expectations. how they perceive that other person or their relationship. what they thought the other person was going to do, or thought the other person should have done, but failed to. negative action sentences are everything.

I'm obsessed with characters we only hear about second or third hand, especially when those accounts are conflicting. No, you don't get to see them, but here's a warped mirror of what other people thought they were. Enjoy your contemplation of how being known is an act of translation and communicates only aspects of the self.

Hair: Having my cake and eating it too with his hair color. I like the idea of him having dark roots. but i couldn't decide if he should have really light greenish-blond hair vs sunny golden hair. Why not both? During the s7-8 timeskip, he bleached his hair, a delayed emo phase.

Eyes: I know the popular hc is that he has naturally red eyes but tbh i like when he just looks like a really ordinary guy. Brown eyes that slowly became green due to his powers. They glow a neon green when he uses his powers. During Hunted, his eyes lose the shine :3

Blood: Oni blood is canonically purple, so I'd guess Lloyd's would be a maroonish color: purple oni blood + red human blood.

another heavy handed symbolism moment: my mom has a potted sunflower in the kitchen. because it is a sunflower, it keeps turning towards the light from the window. my mother keeps rotating it so it faces inward because she wants "to see its beautiful petals and have it really brighten up the space!" . the sunflower is visibly wilting .
