I meant to finish and post this last week, but work and Squid Game themed Roblox games kinda got in the way…

(Originally I had Az holding a certain author’s severed head like in the Rubens piece, but I got informed by a few friends that that could be technically classified as a death threat on the off chance he saw, so since the last thing I need is law problems, I changed it to a book)

AU in which Stede visits his old workplace at a health insurance company to sign paperwork after he has been dismissed for attempted but ultimately unsuccessful whistleblowing.

While Stede has ducked out to get a breath of fresh air and calm himself down by reading a bit of the book that's been engrossing him, CEO Peveril Badminton walks under the balcony where Stede is standing. Peveril starts taunting Stede for yet another failure. Stede, startled out of his reading by the sound of yet another bully from childhood, drops his copy of Jay Feinman's Delay, Deny, Defend squarely on Peveril's head.

Who could have imagined such a little book could kill a man? Anyway, this is the third accidental Badminton death Stede has had a hand in. Surely no one will believe it was an actual accident.

Stede has a cell phone because this is a modern AU, but when you're wanted for killing your former grandboss, do you really trust your message encryption enough to tell your boyfriend where you're going?

Ed hears on the radio that "the suspected killer, a disgruntled former employee whose name has not been released, has known Badminton since childhood," puts two and two together, and immediately starts trying to figure out where Stede could have fled to.

Commence however many chapters of hoping that Ed will find Stede, and no one else will. (Maybe also that some intrepid reporters looking at the details of the killing will look into potential motives someone might have for wanting Peveril dead and uncover the very practices Stede was hoping to expose before he had to go into hiding.)

The Good Omens brainrot continues

To my beloved fandom;

A lot of you know me as PhoenixRose314, Tumblr's fandom mom and ineffable author of Don't Fall Away From Me and There Is A Light & It Never Goes Out. This fandom has been such a source of joy for me and has kept me going through some really difficult and dark times, but right now my world is absolutely falling apart.

Through circumstances beyond my control (health reasons - cancer and anxiety and depression), I was let go from my job a few months ago and my children and I can no longer afford to rent our lovely home in our lovely village. This has been incredibly hard for me to accept but once my lease is up I will have run out of savings and my kids and I will no longer have a place to call our own.

I am famously awful at asking for help, however this amazing fandom has convinced me to start this crowdfunder to try and raise enough money to try and buy a small park home or caravan for myself and the kids. It won't be much, but it will be ours, and nobody can take it away from us. I'm currently in the process of selling all my collectibles, furniture and worldly goods to try and raise some of the money myself, but anything you could donate to give my family some stability would be appreciated from the very bottom of my heart.

I hate that it has come to this, I feel so much shame and guilt for being in this position, but I better than anyone know that circumstances can change on a dime, and I hope that all the good and kindness (and fanfiction!!) I've put out into the world might come back to me now.
