What if this bit is about Armand but not in the way we think?

I've seen people say that it is about him hiding his vampire eyes, but what if it is more metaphorical than that?

What if what Daniel is actually saying here is about Armand putting on a disguise but in a more overall sense, not literally putting on contact lenses?

After all, what do we see Armand in the show do a lot? He plays roles, he hides what he is and his true colors. Conforms to what is expected of him, puts on masks.
