Also, assuming people can't change isn't healthy, and hating for the sake of hating is useless

Here is a concept that I came up with that I found hilarious and perfect at the same time.

New York and California have been married for literal years. Like since gay marriage was legal and literally no one knew. Not a single soul, which is odd considering that Cal can't keep his mouth shut about anything. New York kept it a secret bc he didn't want people asking questions and Cali didn't have a reason for not telling people other than he got high and thought he told people but actually didn't.

One day when they are living at the statehouse together, California walks out of New York's room in the morning. People just assume that they're dating, which makes sense on its own since they seemingly got closer over the pandemic.

It's not until someone notices that NY has a ring in a necklace chain that matches the ring that Cal wears that they start asking questions.

He almost jumps at the sound as his dog, Lud, barks in surprise. Henryk quickly stands, moving to answer his door, and nearly gapes at the sight.

Magda looks up to him, her bluish lips shaking.

“Oh, little duck,” he says softly, quickly ushering her inside. He corrals her to the chimney side; she’s shaking like a leaf. “Why are you outside?”

“Papa said I was bad,” she quietly answers, and Henryk hisses between his teeth. “Said I had to sleep in the barn until I was good again… but last time I was good only after a week, and I’m so cold, Sir Henryk.”

This is sad. Like really, really sad. Inspired by Shireen Baratheon's death in GOT, just so y'all know. Major Child Death, child abuse and grief.

Alright; so I watched a video of Davos's anger towards Melisandre about Shireen's death, and hated that she got off way too nicely, so I wrote this.

It ended up way longer than it was supposed to be, and I've been working on it for a week, so I'm glad I got the angst out of my system.

This is not a happy fic. There is fluff, and parental feels, but it's sad.

It's in the accidental Warlord AU of @inexplicifics universe, when the Wolf takes Redania, but the politics are really in the background. I love to play with side characters, so thats what I did.

I think this would be a good time to mention that in my Spirit!States AU, all of the states are spirits that are haunting Gov (who’s still alive)

But! Florida and Loui are together as spirits :D

so here’s some headcanons for them (TRIGGER WARNING: mentions of suicide, murder, drowning, being killed via alligator):

Florida has Louisiana’s full trust, which is a lot considering how traumatic and horrific Louisiana’s death was. (Louisiana died because of suicide, he did it in a moment of fear and desperation because France was actively trying to kill him)

Florida has a moderate fear of bodies of water as a spirit (he died via drowning and being mauled by an alligator), so Louisiana goes to every length to make sure that they avoid bodies of water for Florida’s sake (even going so far as to avoid bathtubs. no Florida isn’t afraid of bathtubs of water but it’s the thought from Loui that counts.)

Louisiana is often found hiding behind Florida when they’re around other spirits/Gov

Florida can often be found covered in magnolias, all of which are from Loui

they’re still the Chaos Duo in death! They are constantly causing chaos for Gov. Which at first, Gov was sorta annoyed at, but he came to find it rather entertaining and even comforting somehow.

Florida was incredibly patient when it came to the process of Louisiana warming up to him. He entirely understood why Loui was so goddamn terrified, and was very calm and patient as Louisiana opened up to the idea of friendship (and eventually an actual romantic relationship)
