“As a child, the world was scary and big and confusing and no matter what I did, it never stopped being so. It was frustrating, loud, aggressive and I struggled to voice my thoughts, my feelings and how simple things seemed overwhelming. Mom didn’t have it easy, but she was there, you know? Even now, sometimes I feel upset, but don’t have the words or meaning to explain what is wrong. Because most of the time I’m not sure what is actually wrong. I have trouble recognizing my feelings and emotions. I have trouble understanding things in the world today. So, just give me time. I’ll get there. Just not today.”

Coffee in one hand, notebook in the other and satchel over his shoulder he had made his way into RBR. This place felt comfortable to him now, he’d spent so much time there between actual work and genuinely seeing Peyton that it was with ease and confidence he made his way past a couple of staff and towards her office. Noah rarely spent as much time focused on a client as he did with Peyton, but he enjoyed her wit and truthful way of speaking- in a way, it almost helped being around someone else who could be as equally as blunt. Even if hers wasn’t caused by a neurodivergency.
“I’m always a man of my promises, Sawyer.” he commented, removing her own order from the holder and placing it in front of her. He started his own little routine, satchel down on the right hand side, coat draped over the left side of the chair, removing his pen case and placing his notebook on the other side of the desk. “I have to say, I’m rather looking forwards to bringing your idea into life, I think it’s going to go over very well.”
Tumblr media
Peyton had her computer, notebook, and planner ready. She was happy to be having a planning session for Red Bedroom Records holiday event. Having Noah there to assist in the planning was even better. It was not expected to have the guy who runs all of her security systems assisting her in planning her events, but it was a great touch. He helped her more than she would have imagined and was eternally grateful.
She began pulling up the programs on her laptop and looked up for a moment as she saw Noah coming into her office. “Hey, Noah!” Peyton beamed as she patted the space across her desk for him to join her. “And as promised, you brought the coffee. Thank you again for coming.”

Christmas was a weird one for him. It was going to be his third without Riley and he felt the same as the previous two. That something was missing within him. He had traditions, traditions which the two of them had made together and he tried to honour them as much as he could. Even if that did mean now roping Audrey in with the shenanigans. For the size of the town they were in, it was almost criminal how long he and Audrey went not actually seeing each other every day. Work was busy for them both, different schedules and timings, they were like ships in the night at times.
But he was happy to join her now. He had a bag full of goodies and his night bag, just encase they continued further than daylight hours. He had let himself in, having a spare, just like she had for his place and he shouted his presence. He started his usual routine, removing his shoes and placing them together lined up to the wall, coat hung up on the right peg- always on the right peg- and he made his way into the living room at her insistence. “Yes, ma’m.” he replied.
Chill. That was always a strange word for him. He certainly didn’t compute chill, instead he placed the bag of goodies down beside the armchair and perched at the end of it, clasping his hands together to fight the urge of gesturing wildly and touching things. Like straightening up the pile of magazines on the coffee table. He managed maybe two seconds before he couldn’t take it anymore and began shuffling them into their correct place.
Tumblr media
“Come on in, Noah! It’s open!” Audrey yelled from her kitchen. She heard her front door open, close and be locked by her best friend. It had been a while since they’d hung out one on one. Audrey’s job kept her really busy. Of course, as an EMT she was always needed and she relished in helping people. It also was a distraction from how lonely her life had become since her break up.
Not that she was trying to change it, but she did miss having a person who she waited to hear from everyday. Noah was her best friend, and communicating with him at least once a day was nice, but it didn’t compare.
She popped her head around the corner from her kitchen to dining room/living room. “Feel free to chill. I’ll be out in a minute. Just finishing the popcorn and nachos.” She gave him a smile.

TEXTS 📱 PEYTON 🔄 NOAH
PEYTON: But you literally know everything! Though, I'll take the favorite client comment and run with it. I kind of suck at receiving compliments.
PEYTON: Oh definitely. It will be very community oriented and all. I would love that. Come by the office any time tomorrow. I don't have any meetings because the recording engineers are hard at work on an album.
NOAH: You flatter me.
NOAH: I apparently suck at giving compliments unprompted. So this is entirely new waters for us.
NOAH: Sounds perfect. It's a plan. Would you like coffee brought?

PEYTON: Out of all of them I'm your favorite?? Why's that?
PEYTON: Yes, exactly!
PEYTON: You're on the right track, because that's exactly where I was headed too. I'm thinking of making two of them. One with a carnival and then another location with the music, art, and entertainment. It can all be the same event, but have multiple locations.
NOAH: I don't know. I dislike not knowing. You just are.
NOAH: I'm sure lots of businesses would be willing to pitch in and help out, host as locations, etc. I can come help with brainstorming if you would like?

TEXTS 📱 PEYTON 🔄 NOAH
PEYTON: You're the sweetest. Honestly, I could always use some help.
PEYTON: I'm also going to have local vendors out too. It would be nice to get some of the local artists and people out there to sell their things for last minute presents.
PEYTON: I'm thinking I should put some of the proceeds toward charity as well. People are in the giving spirit this year. What else do you think would make it cool?
NOAH: You're my favourite client, anything I can do you know that.
NOAH: Like a sort of miniature Christmas Market in a way? But with entertainment?
NOAH: Something for families/children maybe?
NOAH: Even better. I have an idea. Get an artist to attend as well, maybe they could do a performance and sell tickets for a fair amount and donate to charity also! It also puts your local artists in the spotlight some more having them noticed.
NOAH: And food. Food is always a winner.

PEYTON: I'm not into all of that holiday cheer shit, but I figured it would get people out to a show.
NOAH: Can I help at all in setting things up?

“Now you’re speaking my language, No.” She buckled up and Noah pulled out and started heading toward the Overlook. It wasn’t that far, so she’d be fine. “It’s like you somehow always know when I’m having a bad day and in need of my best friend.” She looked sideways to the boy beside her with a smile. “So, how have you been, Noah? Is it all going well?”
Noah and Audrey texted constantly, but with their adult lives they saw each other about once a week. Which when they transitioned from high school to their lives after it was difficult for Audrey - Noah had been her rock, and still was. He knew more about her than anybody else in the world.
Tumblr media
“Best friend intuition, right?” he commented with a knowing look. Like beacons, they didn’t need to be near each other to realise when one needed the other. Noah hadn’t had it with anyone else, he still couldn’t figure out why it was just Audrey, maybe it was because she had been such a permanent fixture in his life that somehow his brain worked normally around her. At her question of his own well being all he could do was shrug. “As per usual, Aud. Work, routine, work, routine- no, I added another client to my portfolio, some new start up in L.A and let me tell you, they are like babies in the technology world. I could hack their systems within 46.7 seconds.” he said with a proud smile.
It wasn’t too long a drive, it took precisely seven minutes and twenty three seconds to arrive and he pulled the car into park. He passed across the bag to her and turned in his seat. “Are you okay?” social cues were a puzzle to him, but he’d learnt over their years together that he needed to ask, especially when the words bad day were mentioned.

Full Name: Noah Oliver Foster Age: 23 DOB: 19th September Virgo Residency: Andromeda, California, USA Birthplace: Andromeda, California, USA Occupation: Owner of Riloah Industries (self employed) runs a podcast in his spare time.  Marital Status: Single  Height: 6ft Hair: Dark Blonde/Mousy Brown Eye: Blue Likes: Film, Horror, Murder Mysteries, Board Games, Programming, Technology, Coconut Mochas with extra shot, dark chocolate, blue and green M&M’s, music, problem solving, cool temperatures, niche collector items.  Dislikes: Changes, breaking of routines, highly emotional situations, large crowds, worms, boredom
Noah Foster is a odd one. This wasn’t completely apparent straight away, but it only took Anna Foster six months to realize her son was not exactly like other babies. Tests were done, exercises ran, the result? High Functioning Autism. Growing up Noah exhibited most of the signs and it took a lot of work with therapists to make sure he could integrate better with society. His emotional capability is a struggle, even now he finds it hard to read and understand social cues and unless people know him, can become quite offended by Noah’s personality.
Schooling was awful. He struggled socially, but academically he thrived and he didn’t mind being outcast, knowing his hard work was paying off was all he needed and whilst kids played outside, he stuck his nose into books and test papers. When Noah was 14 he officially had his IQ tested and the result of 181 only distanced himself further from his peers. Doctors almost questioned whether he was a savant, with the near perfect ability to memorize even the smallest of insignificant to most details. Such as the colour of his t-shirt on the 18th of November 2006. Or that 9 red cars drove past him on his walk home on 15th of June 2008.
But this still made him clueless in the social aspect. That was, until Audrey came along in his first year of high school. For some reason, she just got him and there was no cruel remarks, no taunts or teasing- just one of his bullies somehow coming to school the next day with his arm in a cast. He still hasn’t questioned it to this day. Although something inside tells him she was involved. Noah had never had someone who understood him the way she did, who helped him and made sure his routine was kept on track but also expanded over time.
She even helped him land the woman of his dreams. Riley Marra, popular, cheerleader, talented, sweet and above all else? Out of his reach. But Audrey had helped him for days plan what he was going to say and in their sophomore year Noah finally gathered up enough courage to approach her. From there, they fell into a whirlwind romance and remained together throughout high school. The sweethearts seemed like perfect puzzle pieces and Noah realised between Riley and Audrey he was experiencing two different, yet strong emotions of love.
Noah and Riley got accepted to go to Berkeley. After all, nothing seemed to be getting in the way of them and it was a big step for Noah leaving the town and life he was familiar with and safe with. But after their freshman year, the changes with Noah’s environment and their differing classes soon brought issues and to his confusion, leading them breaking up. Noah struggled for his sophomore year, seeing Riley most places on campus and seemingly moving on. But in their junior year, after a year of separation they managed to regrow their relationship and they both promised never to leave each other again. And despite their year break, Noah proposed six months later and their plans for their wedding went ahead with both sets of parents blessing. The campus tagged them as ‘Riloah’ and although Noah wasn’t overly okay with being known as a ‘OTP’ he took it in his stride. The summer before their senior and graduating year, the wedding was due to take place in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, a half way point between Andromeda and San Francisco.
But a few weeks before the blessed day, a return trip to Andromeda ended in tragedy when their car was collided with a semi on one of the smaller coastal roads and Riley, who had taken her seatbelt off for a split second to reach into the back for water was tossed to the side as their car flipped. Noah was the last of them both to come too, only to look up to see Riley beside him and looking at him with tears in her eyes and he struggled to understand what had happened. Until for once, his brain processed the change of circumstance and trapped by his seatbelt he couldn’t do anything but watch as the life seeped further out of Riley. His hand remained in hers the entire time and her last words remained etched in his head like an echo as emergency services worked to free them from the wreckage.
To begin with, Noah didn’t process her being gone and for the first week or so went above his regular routine. He never cried, it was almost as if he was on factory reset despite the sadness around him from others and plans for the funeral being made. But the day it finally came, to speak at the service of his dead fiancé that no more than a few words in it registered just what had happened.
Noah ended up graduating in absence and Riley posthumously. Noah went back to Andromeda after the funeral, unable to adapt to being without her and moved back in with his mom. He was placed in a bereavement support group, something he wasn’t entirely set with but his mom forced him and it was there he met Haley James. They remained close since, Haley always being one to help in sessions and simply just be there for coffee when the days got too dark. She even supported him in setting up his business.
He’s the proud owner of Riloah Industries. With a flagship store in Andromeda and a website where he sells security and business technology. The store offers a bit of everything, from installations to computer repair and even unlocking devices. He’s done well for himself and has a few high profile clients. But he much prefers his at home portfolio with businesses in Andromeda.
Some people know, some don’t and Noah doesn’t tend bring it up but he’s definitely retreated back into himself and those closest to him always keep an eye out.
Noah himself is genuinely sweet, if not a little dim when it comes to social intuition and reading situations. His mannerisms and quirks can sometimes put people off but surprisingly females and children love him. His ability to interact with children on a different level makes him an excellent baby sitter.
Noah doesn’t drink, he never had a tolerance for it but he does love his coffee and will happily supply or be supplied. Sometimes even bribed if it’s Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee.

Audrey was replenishing her rig’s supplies as she always did before taking her lunch. A voice behind her gave a little jump, but when her brain recognized it was just her best friend, Noah, she turned around and locked the back before unceremoniously jumping down in front of him. She gave him a big hug.
“You had me at lunch, Noah. I’m starving!” She exclaimed as they made their way to his car. “So, where are you taking me?”
Tumblr media
After all their years together, he had grown used to Audrey’s hugs. It came with their territory and it meant something, that to this day she was still the only person left in his life who was allowed such an honor. Still vibing from the warmth her hug gave him he grinned excitedly as he unlocked the doors and went to grab the passenger handle, opening it for her. “You work hard, no doubt your body requires sustenance. And I have taco’s, yes, all five kinds, and although I know we can’t go far, how about we go to the Overlook? I feel we haven’t been there in ages.” the Overlook, the rock on the highest peak in Andromeda where the entire coast and lower town was in view. It was also a place Noah held dear.

“I’m stealing you for lunch, you can’t argue with me because bylaws state you’re required at minimum a thirty minute break on a twelve hour shift and I will promise to have you back at your ambo in precisely...-” a quick look to his watch, confirmed what he already knew - “twenty eight minutes and forty three seconds....forty two.....forty one- well okay, you get my drift.” he shook the takeout bag as an added incentive.

Peyton smiled at Noah as he sat beside her. She had been lucky to have him around for installations of her security systems at her office and recording studio. When there was a lot of equipment that could easily be stolen, she didn’t want to have to worry about it.
“Oh wow… That is both an easy answer and a tough one.” Peyton sighed as she gazed at the performer. “First it’s about the technique. Like.. Does their voice sound good? Can they play their instrument well? Then for me it goes beyond that. It needs to speak to me. Their material needs to have a message, something I can connect to, something that makes me feel.”
Tumblr media
He ‘hmmed’ thoughtfully, gaze leaving her for a split second to stare at the musician before zoning back on target. “You must be really difficult to please. I’ve seen all but two people in your studio. Does he make the cut?” he didn’t know if he ever emoted with lyrics, or indeed even music. Sometimes he played classical, but music to him died a while back.

Walks alone were now part of his daily routine. Without his routine, he couldn’t focus and if ever had a hit out on him, it would’ve been incredibly easy to get to him. At 4.14PM on the dot he found himself by the bandstand, the mellow guitar sounds were relaxing against the sound of waves from the sea. It would be high tide in precisely 23 minutes.
He came to a stop beside the blonde, taking a sip of his mocha coconut he watched her, watching the artist with a contemplative look. “What do you count as talent?” he asked, bluntly and full of curiosity.
Tumblr media
The sun was setting, and after another day of trying to change the world from her office, Peyton found herself at the  Sovereign Bandstand. It was her place to go and check out the street performers to see if anyone there was worthy of being signed. She craved raw talent, and it was proving to be increasingly difficult to find artists that shared the same passion as some of her favorites from the 80′s and 90′s. There was a guy strumming an acoustic guitar that had caught her ears, when she heard someone approach her. “Oh yeah, I’m always working… Even after I’m done sampling music at the office, I always have to come here and check out the locals. You never know, there could be someone who lives here who has a talent that’s ready to be shown to the rest of the world.”
