Makara, one of the last known dragons in Ephwain. While she prefers not to be seen by most, she can be coaxed out of hiding with certain offerings. Her most beloved devotee, Sanguine, is the only one who converses with her with any consistency.

With the unfortunate death of the previous guardian of the Everbloom, Rosamund found herself called to take her place, in the idyllic kingdom of Alodias, a beautiful place of forests and fields locked in an ever-present Springtime. Far from her Sisters and her incredibly sheltered life back in the Spire, Rosamund found it difficult to adjust to advising the monarchs of this perpetually abundant land- taking issue with their naivete and apathy to those outside of their borders. While the Everbloom provided their land with verdant wilderness and crops that never withered- the people there grew lazy and selfish. The Everbloom began to reflect this change, and Rosamund herself- so deeply connected to it- changed as well. Her mind- once a beautiful, stunning example of a righteous celestial untouched by the folly of man- twisted into a paranoid, melancholic and self-obsessed echo of what it had once been. In her visions, she saw nothing but ruin and flame, and so she advised the monarchs to close the borders of their kingdom- to which they readily agreed- closing off the Everbloom's gifts to the rest of the world.

For decades, no word was heard from Alodias, and eventually the Eventide commanded Ianicath to go and investigate the silence of her Sister. Doing so, she found nothing more than a scared, anxiety-ridden young sphinx who no longer wished to take part in the larger world for fear of her kingdom suffering the consequences. Ianicath, carefully whispering her honeyed words to the uncertain Rosamund, took her under her wing and began to convince her the Spire was coming to take everything from her- to plunge the land into an endless winter without the Everbloom's life-giving call.

Rosamund, unsure of anything, agreed to help her.
