The Gesi
The Gesi are masters of the slingspear, a mid-sized javelin carved from mammoth bone which, instead of being thrown by hand, is flung with a leather sling to improve range, speed, and killing power.
Set 1, worn by most members of the tribe:
Tumblr media
Woad Skylancer’s Helm Nomad’s Coat of Scouting - Lavender Purple Nomad’s Armguards of Scouting - Lavender Purple Ramie Kecks Dhalmelskin Thighboots Viability: 4/10 Currently not a garb that can be worn by the player as the helm is a unique model that has no alternative and the gear from Bardam’s Mettle cannot be dyed at this time.

The Adarkim

Koppranickel Turban of Striking - Undyed Nomad’s Coat of Maiming - Rhotano Blue Eikon Cloth Sleeves of Aiming - Rhotano Blue Nomad’s Breeches of Fending Nomad’s Boots of Fending Viability: 3/10 Currently not wearable by the player as there is no dyable substitute for the body gear.

The Dazkar
Household duties such as cooking, cleaning, and childrearing are handled by the males of the Dazkar who, other than when on the move, rarely ever leave their family's yurts. Female Dazkar are tasked with hunting, and are known across the steppe as being some of the most accurate archers in the realm.
Set 1, worn by the males of the tribe:
Tumblr media
Kudzu Robe of Crafting - Mole Brown Millmaster’s Gloves - Opo-opo Brown Kudzu Culottes of Gathering - Undyed Shisui Zori of Casting Viability: 6/10 Wearable only by the carpenter class by swapping the bottoms for the Kudzu Culottes of Crafting dyed Cream Yellow and the feet for the Faire Zori in Currant Purple. The player’s version of this garb can never be exact, but this combination is as close as one can currently get. Player example:
Tumblr media
Set 2, worn by the females of the tribe:
Tumblr media
Kudzu Robe of Crafting - Mole Brown Thavnairian Armlets - Loam Brown Kudzu Culottes of Gathering - Undyed Shisui Zori of Casting Viability 7/10 Exclusive to females and can be worn as any crafting class by replacing the bottoms with the Kudzu Culottes of Crafting dyed Cream Yellow, and the feet with the Faire Zori in Currant Purple. As before, this is the closest the player can get to replicating this garb with the gear that is currently available. Player example:

The Olkund
Selective breeding has seen the average height of the central steppe-dwelling Olkund tribe males reach over two and a half yalms. The females, for whatever reason, remain of an average height.
Set 1, worn by most of the tribe’s members:
Tumblr media
Woad Skyraider’s Helm Twinsilk Robe of Aiming - Undyed Nomad’s Armguards of Scouting Nomad’s Breeches of Fending Orthodox Thighboots of Striking Viability: 2/10 Not currently wearable with such a range of undyable gear with unique models.

The Ugund
When members of this tribe die, their heads are removed from their bodies and placed in a jar of fermented goat milk. Once the liquid has been drunk by the head (in other words, evaporated), the head is then buried under an anthill so that the tiny workers can carry the spirit to the afterlife. The journey is thought to be a terrible one, the road filled with ghosts of the damned, so ensuring the spirit is drunk helps ease the journey.
Set 1, worn by most members of the clan:
Tumblr media
Marid Leather Hood of Striking - Undyed True Griffin Chestpiece of Striking - Undyed Thavnairian Gloves - Undyed Ala Mhigan Bottoms of Gathering - Soot Black True Griffin Caligae of Striking - Undyed Viability: 9/10 Wearable on striking classes by replacing the bottoms with the Riviera Slops dyed Ash Grey for males. The best option for females is the Replica Dreadwyrm Slops of Striking dyed Ash Grey, albeit with some extra details on the thighs and knees. Player examples:

The Goro
The Goro believe horses to be perfect beings, and each male and female, upon their coming of age, is married to a horse of the opposite sex. Reproductive mates are chosen by lots. It should be noted that because a horse's lifespan is far shorter than that of a Xaela's, one is likely to be wed to several horses over the course of his or her life.
Set 1, used by most of the tribe:
Tumblr media
Nomad’s Cap of Striking Thavnairian Bolero - Gobbiebag Brown Thavnairian Gloves - Undyed Thavnairian Sarouel - Soot Black Thavnairian Babouches - Undyed Viability: 10/10 Completely wearable on striking classes in its original state. Wearable by all classes if the hat is removed. Player example:
Tumblr media
Set 2, worn exclusively by the Goro Horsemaster:
Tumblr media
Hardsilver Monocle of Healing - Undyed Thavnairian Bolero - Gobbiebag Brown Augmented Hammerkeep’s Work Gloves - Undyed Thavnairian Sarouel - Soot Black Lord’s Clogs Viability: 7/10 Wearable only by males on the Armourer class by swapping the monocle for the Scion Thaumaturge’s Monocle. Can by used by females by swapping in the Lady’s Clogs and the Silver Monocle left Undyed. Player examples:

The Dataq
The Dataq cover quite possibly the most area in their migrations, for they rarely stop in one area for longer than a few bells. Sleeping is all done in the saddle, and tents are only used when the rains are heavy and unbearable. This is, however, less a hard rule and more an ideal for which they strive, even if they do indeed travel further and longer than any other tribe.
Set 1, worn by most tribe members:
Tumblr media
Twinsilk Turban of Scouting - Undyed Ramie Poncho - Dark Blue Thavnairian Gloves - Undyed Ala Mhigan Bottoms of Gathering - Undyed True Griffin Caligae of Striking - Undyed Viability: 8/10 A combination that on its own cannot be used by the player. But this garb can be replicated on a scouting class by replacing the leg gear with the Nabaath Bottoms of Scouting left undyed, and the feet with the True Griffin Caligae of Scouting dyed Loam Brown. As the Ramie Poncho cannot be dyed, the body gear must instead be the Cashmere Poncho dyed Dark Blue. With a few creative liberties it is also possible to wear this as a striking class by using the original shoes and exchanging the bottoms for something similar such as the Riviera Slops in Pure White for males or the Bonewicca Wildling’s Sarouel. For a head piece with different detail but a similar style, a few types of bandana will work so long as they are dyed dark blue, such as the Pagos Bandana in Dark Blue. Player example:

The Ura
This mountain-dwelling tribe is one of the few which instead of hunting, mine the precious ores of the peaks and trade them with the steppe tribes for food.
Set 1, worn by most of the tribe’s members:
Tumblr media
Twinsilk Robe of Aiming - Undyed Gazelleskin Armguards of Casting - Undyed Fisher’s Gaskins - Undyed Dhalmelskin Thighboots Viability: 7/10 Despite the Ura being a mining tribe, this outfit cannot be worn by miners at all. This is however wearable by aiming classes if the hand gear is replaced with the Gazelleskin Armguards of Aiming dyed Loam Brown. While the colour does not exactly match, it is the closest possible match given current dye choices. The bottoms are fisher only and are a unique model, but may be swapped for gear of a similar type such as the True Griffin Breeches of Aiming left undyed, or Oschon’s Cuisses of Aiming in Soot Black. Player example:

The Kha
Unlike most of the Xaela, the Kha live on the fringes of the Xaela lands, actively seeking contact with non Auri peoples, introducing many aspects of those cultures into their own.
Set 1, used by most clan members:
Tumblr media
Nomad’s Cap of Casting Nomad’s Coat of Casting - Dark Brown Nomad’s Armguards of Casting Nomad’s Breeches of Casting Nomad’s Boots of Casting Viability: 10/10 One of the simplest possible tribes to dress as. This is all the entire casting set from Bardam’s Mettle. Though the body piece cannot be dyed, the undyed version is nearly identical in colour.

The Qestir
This tribe refuses to speak, believing that all words are lies, and that a man's actions are the purest form of communication. They founded Reunion, a trading hub where peoples of the steppe and even foreign merchants may trade freely.
Set 1, worn by most of the clan’s members:
Tumblr media
Replica High Allagan Mask of Aiming - Ash Grey Kudzu Robe of Crafting - Lilac Purple Nomad’s Armlets of Striking Hempen Underpants - Undyed Nomad’s Boots of Aiming Viability: 6/10 A garb that is mostly wearable by DoH classes. Durium Chaplets can replace the hands. The mask cannot be used with crafters, leaving the best alternatives to be the Cotton Scarf in Ash Grey or the Trailblazer’s Scarf in Ash Grey. The feet are also difficult, as the crafter’s tigerskin boots do not dye as needed, so a more creative alternative, such as the Highland Boots in Soot Black, are the best solution. Player Example:

The Khatayin
A tribe which largely remains unseen, hunting goats in the mountains for nine moons of the year. The remaining three are spent at the foot of the great north range, where they survive off the dried meat they stocked.
Set 1, worn by most clan members:
Tumblr media
Valerian Dark Priest’s Hat Kudzu Robe of Crafting - Slate Grey Shisui Kote of Fending Nomad’s Breeches of Fending Guoc - Undyed Viability: 8/10 It is possible to wear a fairly accurate replica of this garb on a DoH class, by substituting a Pixie Cotton Hat of Crafting dyed Soot Black, and Kudzu Culottes of Crafting dyed Charcoal Grey. Though there is no direct crafting equivalent for the fending hand gear, only the glove portion of them is visible, meaning almost any short hand gear of this type such as the Swallowskin Fingerless Gloves in Soot Black will work as a replacement on males. For females, the gloves cover the fingers as well as the palm, so a suitable option would be any glove such as the Cotton Dress Gloves in Soot Black. Player Example:
Tumblr media
Set 2, worn exclusively by Qatun Coldwind:
Tumblr media
Nomad’s Coat of Aiming - Slate Grey Shisui Kote of Fending Nomad’s Breeches of Fending Guoc - Undyed Viability: 9/10 Very easy to wear as an Aiming class. Though the Nomad gear isn’t actually dyable by the player, the Aiming Coat needn’t be dyed at all, as it’s natural colour is visually identical to the dye. With this as a base, the bottoms can be comfortably exchanged for the Nomad’s Breeches of Aiming. The gloves can be swapped with the Shisui Kote of Aiming with no visual difference at all. Player example:

The Uyagir
One of a handful of Xaela tribes which have given up the nomadic lifestyle. The Uyagir reside in a system of limestone caves on the northern edge of the southern deserts which are believed to have been dug by a race of giant oliphant-like beetles which were placed on the land by the gods to punish the elder tribes that had grown too greedy.
Set 1, worn by most clan members:
Tumblr media
Landking’s Turban - Marsh Green Thaliak’s Chestwrap of Healing - Pastel Green Augmented Torrent Armguards of Aiming - Pastel Green Kudzu Culottes of Crafting - Dark Brown Hemiskin Open-Toed Boots of Healing - Pure White Viability: 2/10 As of this post, it is not possible recreate this garb to a suitable standard. It may be worn by healers without the head and hands by using the Nomad’s Breeches of Healing.  The Uyagir don’t appear to adhere strictly to this gear, with some noted alternatives as follows; Eastern Lady’s Crakows, Eastern Lord’s Crakows, and Kudzu Culottes of Gathering in Pastel Green.

The Dotharl
An extremely violent tribe with members who revel in massacre and are taught from a young age not to fear death. This is because the Dotharl believe that their fallen warriors are reincarnated within a year of their death. While they are quick to attack other tribes, mortality rates are high, ensuring that their numbers never grow too high.
Set 1, worn by most of the clan’s members:
Tumblr media
Bloodhempen Chestwrap of Casting - Void Blue Koppranickel Armlets of Healing - Undyed Bloodhempen Culottes of Casting - Void Blue Gaganaskin Sandals of Casting - Void Blue Viability: 9/10 Though not perfectly usable as-is, this has an almost full score purely due to versatility. This set can be worn as a caster by replacing the armlets with the Koppranickel Armlets of Casting in snow white, with the only visual difference being that the feather detailing will not be blue. The Dotharl do not wear headgear and their choice of garb is light and revealing, suggesting that they value comfort and ease of movement over warmth or protection. This garb can also be worn by maiming classes by using the Ghost Barque Set of Maiming dyed Void Blue. The exception to this is the armlets, which should remain undyed. This is because the fabric of this hand gear cannot be made white regardless, so leaving it the default blue will leave it to match the colour of the rest of the set. Note that the trim feathers will be red - these also cannot be made the correct shade of blue regardless of dye choice. Overall the set makes a fairly accurate replication with only minor differences in colour detail. A third option is to use this set as a healer, using the Bloodhempen Chestwrap of Healing in Void Blue, Koppranickel Armlets of Healing undyed, Bloodhempen Culottes of Healing in Void Blue, and Gaganaskin Sandals of Healing in Void Blue. Excluding the now-accurate hand gear, this set shares differing colour details with the maiming set, but the metal adornments are a warmer colour of silver - still a negligible difference overall. Player examples:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Set 2, worn only by Dotharli children:
Tumblr media
Kudzu Robe of Crafting - Undyed Prophet’s Sandals The children wear no helm, nothing on their hands, and apparently - no pants, preferring so exist in merely their underclothes, or perhaps nothing at all. Should one desire to dress as a child of the Dotharl, a simple change of footwear such as Moonfire Caligae or Moonfire Sandals, each in ash grey, or any other similar sandal, would be sufficient. The difference between this garb and that worn by the adults of the clan is notable, perhaps such things as modesty, warmth and protection are more valued on their younger counterparts.
Set 3, worn exclusively by Koko Dotharl:
Tumblr media
Bloodhempen Chestwrap of Casting - Void Blue Nomad’s Armlets of Striking Serge Sarouel of Crafting - Currant Purple Prophet’s Sandals Viability: 6/10 This set differs from the normal garb more than a simple glance would have you assume, and the unusual combination of gear does make this hard - but not impossible - to replicate. Substituting with a Bloodhempen Chestwrap of Healing in Void Blue, Nomad’s Armlets of Healing, and Thavnairian Sarouel in Currant Purple, can make this set wearable by healers with mostly tolerable differences in detail. Player example:
Tumblr media
Set 4, worn exclusively by Sadu Dotharl:
Tumblr media
Bloodhempen Chestwrap of Casting - Storm Blue Koppranickel Armlets of Healing - Corpse Blue Astral Silk Bottoms of Casting - Celeste Green Thavnairian Sandals - Ink Blue Viability: 9/10 No headgear as with the other Dotharl, but very unique bottoms and shoes. It is unclear if this is garb worn by the clan’s Khatun specifically, or simply Sadu’s personal preference as the one in that role. It should be noted that Sadu’s weapon of choice is the Scintillant Staff in Othard Blue. This set can be near perfectly replicated on casters by replacing the hand gear with the Koppranickel Armlets of Casting in Corpse Blue. These armlets dye so conveniently that they look the same as their healing counterpart. Despite this the set does not achieve perfect score as it is softly exclusive to females. While the Astral Silk Bottoms can be worn by males, they appear closer to pants than shorts and cannot achieve the same look. The Expeditioner’s Pantalettes in Celeste Green make a viable alternative for both genders, though with the added extras of leather straps about the thighs and right ankle. If these straps are too much, the Hempen Underpants in Celeste Green are likely the next best thing. Healers can also wear this with the Bloodhempen Chestwrap of Healing in Storm blue, the original armlets, and the Astral Silk Bottoms of Healing in Celeste Green. Player examples:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Set 5, worn exclusively by Shar Dotharl:
Tumblr media
Bloodhempen Chestwrap of Casting - Void Blue Koppranickel Armlets of Healing - Undyed Thavnairian Tights - Void Blue Gaganaskin Sandals of Casting - Void Blue Viability: 8/10 Unique from the regular garb only in the choice of bottoms, this outfit in particular is strictly female only, since as of this post, Thavnairian tights cannot be worn by males, nor are there any pieces of gear similar to this for males currently available in the game. Other than the bottoms, this set’s availability follows the same alternatives as Set 1. Player example:

The Mol
A small tribe of devout worshippers of the elder gods, the Mol will consult with their deities (via a shaman conduit) before making any tribe-related decisions, from the direction of their next migration, to the beasts they will hunt each day for food. Unlike the crimson clothing of most Mol, these Udgan wear white as a symbol of purity and are forbidden from taking life.
Set 1, used by most clan members:
Tumblr media
Nomad’s Cap of Healing Kudzu Coat of Crafting - Blood Red Nomad’s Armlets of Striking Nomad’s Breeches of Fending Nomad’s Boots of Healing Viability: 6/10 A completely impossible set to use as-is, but a very close replication, minus the head and hand gear, usable by DoL is possible with a few substitutes. The Kudzu Culottes of Gathering in ashe grey will suffice as a replacement for bottoms, and the Tigerskin Boots of Gathering in Charcoal Grey for the feet. Angelic Chaplets dyed ash grey, along with any basic silver rings, may potentially take the place of the armlets. As another alternative, it is possible to use the Nomad’s Striking set, minus the head, though the colour is slightly darker red and some small details are also different colours. Player examples:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Set 2, worn only by Cirina Mol:
Tumblr media
Nomad’s Coat of Striking - Dalamud Red Nomad’s Armlets of Healing Nomad’s Breeches of Striking Nomad’s Boots of Striking Viability: 2/10 Virtually impossible to completely recreate on the player character, as Nomad’s gear cannot be dyed, and the exact colour cannot be replicated on the DoL coat. At best, the Kudzu Coat of Gathering dyed Coral Pink or Rose Pink is the closest possible body, with the Kudzu Culottes and Tigerskin Boots both dyed Blood Red.
Set 3, worn only by the clan’s Udgan:
Tumblr media
Nomad’s Coat of Healing Nomad’s Armlets of Healing Nomad’s Breeches of Healing - Soot Black Nomad’s Boots of Casting Viability: 7/10 A mostly easy set to replicate on the player character, using the Nomad’s Healing set, leaving out the headgear. Although the bottoms and boots would not quite be accurate, these two pieces of gear are so rarely visible that the disparity should be negligible. The Udgan pictured, named Temulun, is also the tribe’s Khatun. It is never specified if these two roles are connected. Player example:

The Buduga
An all-male tribe which only increases its ranks through battle and kidnapping. They recently formed a pact with the Oronir, believing that an alliance with the preeminent tribe would see their numbers swell.
Set 1, used by most of the clan:
Tumblr media
Faire Joi - Nophica Green Nomad’s Armguards of Aiming Faire Kohakama - Nophica Green Sharlayan Pankratiast’s Boots Viability: 9/10 As it stands, this set cannot be replicated exactly, as the arms are aiming and the boots are striking. However, this set can be used as any aiming class by replacing the boots with the Sharlayan Conservator’s Boots. These two sets of footwear are almost identical, with the only difference being a change in colour to the very tops of the boots, a minor detail. Around half of the Buduga choose not to wear a helm, likely due to hair. Those that do, wear the Nomad’s Cap of Maiming. This cannot be worn with aiming gear, and as it has a unique model, there is no accurate alternative for this headpiece. Player example:
Tumblr media
Set 2, worn exclusively by the clan’s Khan:
Tumblr media
Shire Emissary’s Headband South Seas Talisman - Undyed Woad Skydruid’s Armlets Hempen Underpants - Undyed Hemiskin Open-Toed Boots of Casting - Charcoal Grey Viability: 6/10 Scouting head, healing arms, casting shoes. At a glance this set is impossible to wear with such a mixture of gear. However, it is possible to wear this set as a healer - if you’re open to taking some creative liberties. By replacing the boots with the Hemiskin Open-Toed boots of Healing, dyed to the same colour as the original, you can replicate the look with only minor difference in colour detail. As for the helm, the closest way to replicate the look is with the Scion Rogue’s Bandanna. This sits below the hair rather than above, and lacks the intricate details of the scouting head, but for now, it’s the closest to possibly get. Player example:

The Oronir
All members of the Oronir tribe believe themselves to be direct descendants of Azim, the tribe's god of the sun. The strongest tribe in the region, the Oronir currently occupy the Dawn Throne, having won the right to do so in previous Naadams.
Set 1, used by most members of the clan:
Tumblr media
Thavnairian Turban - Honey Yellow Kudzu Coat of Gathering - Honey Yellow Claws of the Beast - Metallic Gold Nomad’s Breeches of Casting Thaliak’s Sandals of Casting - Undyed Viability: 7/10 This set is mostly wearable by the player but only on a DoL class. The bottoms and boots being casting aren’t doable, but since these two pieces are largely not visible, it is possible to achieve a very similar look with the Kudzu culottes of gathering in soot black, and the Auri Buskins in soot black for females. For males however, the racial standard footwear will not cover the hems of the bottoms, so the most ideal alternative is the Scion Chronocler’s Caligae. It seems down to personal preference whether the turban’s mask is used or not, and very few Oronir choose not to wear the turban at all. Player example:
Tumblr media
Set 2, used by elders of the clan:
Tumblr media
Kudzu Coat of Gathering - Desert Yellow Nomad’s Breeches of Fending Thaliak’s Sandals of Healing - Undyed Viability: 7/10 This set differs considerably from the common Oroniri garb. The turban and claws are no longer present, and the fabric has become a lighter shade of yellow, likely to represent the cloth’s colour fading over time. A DoL class is required for this set, and the bottoms and boots are not usable. Shoe alternatives are the same as the regular gear set, and the Kudzu Culottes in ash grey would be close enough to the original bottoms for elders.
Set 3, used only by the clan’s Khan (or possibly Khatun):
Tumblr media
Nomad’s Coat of Fending Nomad’s Armguards of Fending Nomad’s Breeches of Fending Nomad’s Boots of Fending Viability: 10/10 One of the easiest Xaela sets to replicate. This is simply the entire gear set for tanks from Bardam’s Mettle, minus the helm. It is worth noting that Magnai’s specific choice of weapon is the Axe of Crags. Player example:
Tumblr media
Other notes: The Falcon Porter, located at the northeastern corner of the Dawn Throne, wears the Parrotbeak Mask in Honey yellow as her helm.  Children wear the same gear as the regular tribe members, although without the turbans.
