Why We Left the Alterhuman Community
Hello, again. Some of you may have noticed our inactivity on this account. There is reason for this beyond our own personal life making us busy.
The main reason for our inactivity is that we no longer consider ourselves part of the alterhuman community. We are still nonhuman, but we can no longer involve ourselves in the alterhuman, otherkin, therian, or adjacent communities because of rampant racism, colonialism, ableism, and human-centrism.
Particularly in terms of the hatred and exclusion of physical nonhumans and those whose nonhumanity is intertwined with indigenous and/or traditional cultural practices.
The alterhuman community promotes and enforces western colonialist hegemonic ideology of the self, the individual, and social reality. It centers humans as the primary and only true intelligence of the Earth, it enforces strict, socially constructed definitions of human vs nonhuman, it erases traditional cultural practices and spirituality - especially that of indigenous cultures - and it enforces institutional ableism and sanism against those who experience different realities.
Much of the community, especially the "big name" popular accounts, are aggressively opposed to any claim of physical nonhumanity beyond a strictly philosophical approach ("I am nonhuman, this is my body, therefore my body is nonhuman"). And if someone does claim to be physically nonhuman, they are required to admit that it is only within the confines of a personal subjective reality, and concede that their personal reality is lesser than the supposed "objective reality" - in which all of us are demonstrably physically human and can only think we're nonhuman.
One is essentially required to admit that their experiences are not actually real and that they are solely constructs of the mind. You're required to either identify as a delusional individual of some kind, or state that it's only a philosophical viewpoint.
And even when one does state that they are experiencing nonhumanity through the lens of delusion or mental illness, they are still excluded from the community by means of constant reality checking and enforcement of hegemonic reality.
The concept of physically shifting to something nonhuman is possibly the most viciously attacked experience. They completely ignore the fact that physical shifting to other forms is extremely prevelant within indigenous and non-western cultures, and that the erasure of such beliefs and practices is a direct result of colonialist enforcement of hegemonic norms.
The promotion of hegemonic "objective reality" as the be-all-end-all of what is true, possible, and acceptable has led to the complete exclusion of people who cannot make their experiences compatible with it. And if one cannot make their experiences compatible, they are often labeled as dangerous, manipulative, or accused of grooming young nonhumans into certain belief systems.
The irony being, that these social values are the result of centuries of propaganda, indoctrination, and genocide. The ideology of what is and isn't human, especially regarding physical traits, is one of the core pillars of institutional racism. Wherin people of color as defined by their phenotypal traits as being subhuman, and those who actually identify as nonhuman in some manner have their autonomy removed and also treated as subhuman. Subhuman doesnt mean "nonhuman", but rather less than human.
When people encorce this ideology, they are actively contributing to the subhumanization of many groups, human and otherwise. We can no longer stand by this. As much as we have enjoyed participating and having discussions over the years, we've realized that unfortunately these ideologies have an absolute strangehold over the community. We've tried time and time again to break through it, but we've been shot down repeatedly and people just won't listen, despite our position of relative privilege and respect within the community.
We will be continuing to interact with other nonhumans and people with alternative experiences online. We won't publicly reveal our new account here but it should not be difficult to find us. We are far less active online in general, but when we are we will be discussing our genuine experiences without the limitations of these restrictive social norms.
If you wish to continue interacting with us, feel free to DM and we will give you some form of contact.
Thank you, and we wish best of luck to those in the community who will continue trying to break down these harmful ideologies.

Quick depiction of my home planet I made for my blog header :) I’m not very practised at landscapes, so I kept it simple. I like how it came out, obviously I can’t get it perfectly accurate. But I’m still happy with it

can not relate to misanthropy , but still have ... certain views on humans .
as faeries among humans , who feel some of worst hurts humans can give to faeries without understand faerie necessarily ... still can not hate all humans . hate systems of power , and hate how those in power in modern society fan flames , but none of this is inherent to humanity .
think humanity is good at core , there is much good to see . just , unfortunately , even people who want to mean well can get stuck in lies of these systems and greatly hurt others . think even some of most cruel people want to mean well , but have very horrendous ideas of what this means , to point that good intent is not important .
but also , as faeries , like ... humans can be cute and fun to toy with . this is part of what make human filter so important - as well as outlets and ability to let down that filter in safety - because many of faerie first reactions just not appropriate if want any hope of peace and kindness in return .
what faeries see as kindness and compliment is not necessarily so to humans , especially those already hurt . like sure , yes , certain characters have hold in mind and would love to steal away to spoil , pamper , and treat like precious treasure . uh , in human society this is kidnap , and humans do not take kindly to that ! not to mention aspects like trance as possible coercion or force which could traumatise , even if intent is wholly fluffy and non-sexual .
again , this is why human filter is so very important - know not to spout off these things , know that this would be cruel and hurtful to actually impose , but still have there in brain and need outlets . want to love , respect , and mean well for humans , and do try best with this - just , faerie mind and human filter can be at odds about what this look like .

OK so, we've gotten a lot of replies along the lines of, "But I'm just [x], what am I supposed to do?"
This is where we're going to go into our philosophy of non/alterhumanity. To us, there is a purpose to being non/alt-h. We feel this way for spiritual reasons, but it's a philosophy that can be chosen by anyone regardless of their ontological framework.
There is a purpose to being something other than human. There are lessons you can teach humans, perspectives you can give, unique frameworks that can only be understood through the lens of your experience.
For those of us who are nonhuman, we have the unique position of being able to communicate to humans in their own languages, and tell them what it's like. I can tell people what it means to me to be a slime mold, to be connected to the roots of my environment, to hear the trees speaking to one another and to decompose deceased creatures into something new.
I can tell them what it's like to be a lycanthrope, to exist in between worlds, to feel both fundamentally humanlike and beastly and the same time.
These are the sorts of things we can share with those around us. For those who are open minded, hearing these different perspectives can open them up to things they had never considered. It may bring them closer to their natural environment to know that the creatures they share the world with have just as complex and varied experiences as they do. It may help them feel less alone to know there are beings from other worlds and even other realities out there.
We put a lot of emphasis in the original post on direct action, but any open expression of being something Other can be equally as radical. Humans rely on communication to understand the world around them. To us, it's not only something we can do, but it is in fact our duty, our responsibility, to bridge the gap between humans and the other.
That is what the post is about. You have the capability to have an impact on those around you. It may seem small or insignificant, but think about the difference it would make to an insect, if a human decides not to kill them because they have a friend whose an insect. You've changed that person's perspective, and saved a life in doing so.
Your impact matters. YOU matter. The biggest change you can have on the world is to be who you are openly and proudly.
To all the alterhumans / nonhumans who dont know what to do: now is the time for you to start putting your money where your mouth is.
If youre an animal, it's time for you to be a goddamn animal. Be feral, Be aggressive, fight for your life.
If you're a dragon, then be a terror to Kings, and start burning down the halls of power like the dragons of yore.
If you're a mythical creature, have no concern for the social constructs of man. Stand proudly outside what people even believe is possible.
If you're plural, know you're never alone. Fight against individualism that seeks to divide each body into deterministic boxes.
If you're a fictional character who saved the world, believe that you can save any world. Don't back down now.
Now is the time to really believe that you are what you say you are. People in power are going to try to take that away from you. Don't fall for it.
It's time shed any preconceptions you have about what you're capable of. If you're an animal it's time to fight like one. A dragon that uses gasoline and matches is still a dragon.
All bets are off. If they want to treat us like dogs in a cage then im gonna start ripping fascists' throats out like one. And I'd better see y'all there with me, on G-d.

like are you really trying to convince me that a society full of people who say things like "i need to heal my inner child" "the angel on my shoulder says this, the devil says this" "we are comprised of three decision makers with different qualities who work together to shape our behavior" "night me wanted this, but morning me isnt pleased with that" isnt at least. a little plural on average¹?
¹ average is a bad statistic to use here, the right thing to analyze would, without pun intended, be the median value. however, i use the word average to mean "standard" for clarity.

maybe someone of kossai already say this here , or maybe not , can not remember . so might as well .
find bitterly funny when people try to armchair diagnose kossai as delusional because of religious , physical faeriehood . kossai have some very stressful and traumatic experiences in recent life - know what delusional episodes feel like in brain of kossai for this reason , and know both that these delusions feel nothing like faeriehood , and that faeriehood far predate these experiences and these episodes .
again , this kind of thing is not really about concern for safety - this is about lack of trust , and about want to feel superior . these kind of people can not trust that someone with physical identity would even be able to understand limits and safety , to know when things get bad or go too far . every single one is equally delusional , every single experience is false and worth disrespect , and someone must simply act as saviour .
but in all honesty , even if someone did completely lack that knowledge and awareness , random internet strangers who shout insults and commands would never help . if really care to help , learn how to offer patient kindness for those in distress , how to talk someone through awful feelings and scary delusions without trigger worse . and if that is impossible , do not make any claims to help .
