Warning: Angst
_ _ _
You looked at yourself in the mirror, multiple scars littered your skin, you felt embarrassed. The sun set as you couldn’t help but shed a few tears, thoughts like ‘why can’t I look as pretty as the others in Liyue?’ ate at your mind and self esteem. You were never a particularly healthy child, always getting sick to the slightest exposure to the cold. You spent most of your childhood in bed recovering from your fevers, never being able to play around in the beautiful fields with your friends or walking around Liyue harbor from morning til afternoon. It was a matter of time until you developed a deadly disease that slowly ate away your will to live and your health. You barley got any sleep, the sharp stabs of pain sometimes made you even fall to your knees, your body getting weaker every passing day. There was no cure to your disease and no medicine to ease the pain. You were just left to suffer. Scars would always randomly show up one after another. You were truly sick of this weak body, what had you ever done in your past life to deserve this? The only that kept you walking on this earth was your dear lover. He saw how much you suffered and he just felt so useless. You never complained to him though, what you are going through is nothing compared to what he went through in his long lifetime. The only way he could help you was to hug you, reassure you and constantly compliment you in hopes of you feeling better about yourself. One of your personal favorites was when he kissed the scars on yours skin, each and every one of them.

It had been a few minuets since Xiao had started to trail kisses down your body. Your body relaxed when he took the time to kiss the scars that tainted your skin. ‘They’re ugly, I know..’ He stopped for a moment, amber eyes gazed at yours. He reached his hand out to touch your cheek, his fingers tracing circles.
‘I still think you’re beautiful.’ Your cheeks flushed a vibrant red as he took your hand into his and placed a kiss on each finger, ‘promise to never leave me.’
‘I promise’

Xiao always hoped when he would come back to wangshuu inn, that you would still be there to greet him, or at least look his way. He was always so scared that one day you would stop replying to his calls. Your health was never in a stable condition, sometimes you would be completely fine, while other times it seemed like you were on your death bed. He missed the times both of you would sit on a mountain edge and watch the sun set together while holding each other, or when he would share his almond tofu with you while sitting on top of wangshuu inn, admiring the stars. He had this horrid feeling that he would loose you, but he tried his best to ignore it completely, you promised to never leave, there’s no way you would break that promise, right? He wanted to take you to watch the sunset with him again, to give you a bouquet of qingxin flowers, he even wanted to take you out to the harbor for dinner. But it all changed when you woke up almost screaming in pain, he had rushed from the corner of the room to your bedside. There were no wounds or blood, he had no idea what to do as you sobbed in his arms while hugging your stomach. Your whimpers of pain and sobs had started to fade, he thought it was a good sign, but he was terribly wrong.
