Hello Tumblr!

I haven't used this blog in a long time, mainly because it has been a complete failure. However, I would really love to bring this blog back to life! I have always loved the idea of having a blog where I can just talk about my hobbies and interests freely. So I guess you could consider this post the "official start" of my blog on Tumblr, if that means anything.

About Me

My name is Violet, I am 16 years old at the moment. I am from the United States. My biggest interest are art/entertainment, and linguistics (I am especially interested in learning foreign languages. I am currently studying French and Japanese. My native language is English.)

My dream is to one day live in Finland, Iceland, or Canada. I want to get a job in which I can make use of my passion for linguistics, such as being a translator or being a language teacher, but if that doesn't work out I would also like a career in technology, not because I particularly love technology (I am a bit of a technophobe), but because the working conditions seem favorable to me.

AJJ - "Disposable Everything"

I have always loved AJJ a lot. They were one of the first bands that I ever got into. I am probably really biased in liking this album because the only things I can think of to say about "Disposable Everything" are mostly negative, but I still like it a lot.

I think the best way to discuss this album is to set up a list of pros & cons:

Pros:

It is AJJ

Wayyy better than "Good Luck Everybody"

Musically it is great, all the songs are really catchy & I just looove the way it sounds

Cons:

Lyrics can get pretty corny and cringey at times, in my opinion.

Ideologically this album is kind of flawed if you ask me. I'm not sure how to describe it, it feels like the lyrics are forced at a lot of parts of the album.

I'm currently reading Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction by Inio Asano. I'm pretty sure Asano is some sort of god at this point. I love Inio Asano's books so much. Goodnight Punpun is his best by far.

Album discussion: Carousel (An Examination of the Shadow, Creekflow, and its Life as an Afterthought) by Vylet Pony

The following text has been copied and pasted from my review of this album on Rateyourmusic. I have been trying to decide what my first post to this blog should be for awhile now, and I think its probably best to just start with something I have already written. The original review was edited three times, so that is the reason why I have that text there. Also, I should say that I don't love this album quite as much as I did when I first heard it. I still do stand by the fact that its an amazing album, but I think that the following review is a bit exaggerated compared to how much I actually like it. (Everything I wrote in this review does actually apply to Vylet's other album "Can Opener's Notebook: Fish Whisperer" however.)

The Absolute Pinnacle of Music

This is actually the pinnacle of music nothing will ever be better than this. I'm going to start watching MLP just because of this album. This is actually the greatest thing I have ever heard (aside from Ants From Up There - NOTHING is better than Ants From Up There) and I don't even think I am joking. 9/10 because I have only heard it once so far and I don't want to say something is a 10/10 until I've heard it a few times to be sure. WOW. Edit: My friend told me that liking this was cringe because its a My Little Pony album and I just think that is a really really stupid thing to say how are you going to hate on the greatest thing ever made just because the person that made it is singing about ponies? If you dislike this album just because its a My Little Pony album then you are really, really cringe. Edit 2: I was going to make the title of my review something like "The absolute pinnacle of pony engineering" or something because like that song Sunglasses by BCNR but then i opted not to because I thought that would be kind of stupid and wouldnt make sense in the context of this album. Edit 3: I've never even watched My Little Pony.

Final Score: 8/10 ~ Would Recommend

hii !!!! my name is Violet. i am a really big fan of art & whatnot (basic). i have been taking on a little bit of a personal challenge 2 listen 2 at least one new album every day & ive been working on that challenge for about 1.5 years now !!! i looove talking about art and sharing my thoughts and 4 the past year or so i have been posting all my thoughts and media analysis and whatnot onto my Instagram story, but i have always wanted 2 start posting my thoughts somewhere that is more.... permanent, i guess? bc Instagram stories expire after 24 hours yk. anyways. i finally made a Tumblr blog !!!!! i am COMPLETELY new 2 Tumblr. so i apologize in advance if my blog is like informal or not very "good" quality by Tumblr standards or whatever else i will get better !!!

i am going to post music reviews/recommendations most likely, as well as film & literature & all of that stuff. whenever i see a piece of media that interests me enough 2 want 2 talk abt it im gonna use this blog 2 share my thoughts !!!!

all of that being said, this blog is not 2 be taken 100% seriously either. i will talk abt serious topics on here, but i like 2 laugh as well! u should not assume that anything i say is 100% serious or 100% satirical. that SHOULD be a given, but on my Instagram account, i have had a worrying amount of interactions with ppl who got mad at me 4 things bc they assumed i was serious when i wasnt or vice versa.
