quick post to spread some info! i haven’t seen any posts on here with a complete breakdown of all types of security cameras you may encounter… well, this isn’t it either, but there are a couple that you should be able to recognize if you dont want to get caught. many stores use these covert cameras- i frequently see the speaker and motion sensor cams. please be careful everyone!!!

this is my lil lifting kit:
-a couple of decoy pens to make it look like a pencil case
-seven lil neodymium magnets hidden in a pen
-masking tape wrapped around a ruler (so i can fit the tape in the box + ruler makes it look like a pencil case) for sticking tags to the underside of chairs etc for hiding
-craft knife for cutting tags off
-ribbon with elastics for removing gator tags
because it looks like a pencil case i dont have to hide it in the lining of my bag. i usually bring a small notebook with me to give a reason for me to be carrying a ‘pencil case’

Note
Although this is more so aimed at festival goers I'm sure follows similarly to accused shoplifters (NSW) http://www.fair-play.org.au/powers/ (ALL STATES) http://www.lawstuff.org.au/wa_law/topics/police#8
r strip searches legal in australia?
probably depends on the location/severity but I’m not sure, I don’t live there. anyone?

Here’s a starter post for some of you new lifting babies. We love you and we want you to be safe!
—————————————————–
Some of the lingo we use:
Sus ~ Suspicious
LP ~ Loss prevention. These are the people that are watching to see if you take something.
SA ~ Sales/Store attendant
CS - Customer service. If an SA is all up on you, constantly asking questions, or offering to help, they’re CSing you. They may be suspicious of you. Proceed with extreme caution while lifting.
Blind spot ~ Somewhere that a camera cannot see you
Conceal ~ The act of hiding your lifted items, whether that be in your pocket, on your body, or in your bag
Lift ~ Pretty obvious 😝
Antis/Anti Lifters ~ People that have nothing better to do with their time except threaten you and try to make you feel bad for what you’re doing.
Booster bag/container ~ Something lined with foil to block towers from sensing security tags
RFID ~ Very sticky square or rectangle sticker found on item boxes, inside price tags, or sewn into clothing tags. Usually easily removed, but may be noisy.
Hook/magnet(s) ~ Items used for removing different security tags from clothing. If you don’t lift clothing, you won’t need to necessarily worry about these.
—————————————————–
General info about the community!
•If you want an extra sense of security, always use a VPN while browsing on your devices.
•Please remember to remove all EXIF data if you post a picture of any sort.
•DO NOT ARGUE WITH ANTI LIFTERS. It just fuels their fire and that’s what they want. Don’t give them your time. They aren’t going to hurt you, they’re wanting to emotionally manipulate you.
•Don’t give out information such as your age, your specific location, or your full name. Do not give out other social media accounts unless you trust someone.
•Be careful reblogging things from outside of this community. We want to be safe here, not give the Antis a reason to attack. It happens accidentally sometimes and we understand that.
•Don’t be rude to any other members of this community; even if they’re rude to you first. If you don’t agree with something, just keep scrolling.
•Don’t forget that we are indeed criminals. We can/will get caught eventually. Know this risk every time you go out and lift.
•If a post has 1,000+ notes on it about lifting tips, take it with a grain of salt. Lots of those posts are outdated and the information is no longer valid. Please ask one of us if we have any updated tips.
•Getting away with a few hauls will give you a false sense of security. Just because you got away this time absolutely does not guarantee that you will the next time. You can be caught at any minute.
—————————————————–
Store tips! Some of these were taken from other blogs, so I want to give any and all credit to them! These tips are tried and true to a lot of us, and they may very well be beneficial to you.
•Please know that a lot of stores will be able to detect if you walk in with a powerful magnet.
•Someone had posted that they keep their small neodymium magnets inside of a pen with the ink cartridge removed. If someone sees inside your bag, they’ll see a pen. Not magnets.
•If you are caught with hooks/magnets/booster bags or containers, your punishment will be a lot worse. Having these objects shows theft with intent.
•Do not lift with someone new. You never know how they’ll react. They might be loud and very suspicious, and the last thing you want is any extra attention given to you while you’re lifting.
•If you happen to be caught, in a way, you’re lucky if you’re a minor. Lifting charges will be expunged from your record when you become a legal adult. Don’t be stupid just because of that though. You may get off with a warning, or you may be given community service.
•Don’t look right up at cameras. Take a drink out of a water bottle to look up at the ceiling, or look with your eyes.
•Don’t reach for things with both hands unless it’s a big item.
•Scope out a store and look online for job openings for that store. If they’re needing managers/LP/SA, it may be a good time to lift from that particular store.
•If you’re lifting a mall, PLEASE remember to change up your appearance every so often to avoid suspicion. For example, go into the mall with a ponytail, and before you visit another store, put up a bun. Change up your makeup in a bathroom stall. Hell, make your eyebrows a different color with an eyebrow pencil.
•On the mall subject, if you’ve driven yourself- if you’re lifting multiple stores and you need to dump your bag or drop off bags with lifted merchandise, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY, CONCEAL. IN. YOUR. TRUNK. If a cop happens to walk by and see your twelve lifted Naked or Peach palettes laying in the front seat and it looks sus, he CAN search your vehicle because he has reason to believe that something’s up. Two sisters in Michigan got caught and sentenced to jail time because they dumped their clothes in the backseat and they were full of security tags. But if you put your things in the trunk, there’s no way anyone could see OR suspect anything. You’re just another customer parked outside.
•DO NOT enter and leave the mall multiple times. Extremely sus.
•9/10 times if you get away from a store, you’re safe and they won’t bother doing anything. They may take down your car tags if you’re close enough, so Park as far away as you can. However, please don’t be naive and go back to the same store repeatedly because you WILL eventually get recognized and caught.
•Be respectful to the employees. They’re just doing their job.
•Don’t be overly talkative.
•If you need to test to see if an item will set off the security towers, put your phone to your ear and pretend to be talking to mom or a friend. While holding the item in your other hand, stick your head out the door like you’re looking for them. “No mom, I don’t see you, but I’ll be out soon and I’ll meet you at (blah blah store/blah blah food court restaurant) in a few!”. Now you know if you need to look for a tag/RFID.
•Be vigilant of all people around you. Children, adults, elderly men and women- you never know. Little Sally may tell her mama that she saw you stealing. The hot guy in the next aisle could very well be LP. The gentle old man might snitch if he sees you concealing on the floor.
•Which brings me to my next point- DO NOT CONCEAL IN FRONT OF ANYONE UNLESS IT’S YOUR LIFTING PARTNER. Just don’t do it.
•Don’t be cocky or greedy. Know your game plan. Know your blind spots. Get what you need/want the most and come back on another day to get the rest. Preferably a couple of months later. Don’t be cocky and steal just because you know you can, because karma will bite your ass. Be smart about it. We ARE criminals, and if you’re caught, you will be treated as such.
•Be confident. Go in and act like you’re actually shopping. If you get sweaty and nervous, take a few moments to regroup yourself. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. If you change your mind, you can always dump and leave. Don’t let it discourage you, we all have off days.
•Don’t fidget with things for too long. Conceal as soon as you can in your blind spot.
•Don’t feel like you need to have a $800 haul because someone else had one. You lift what you’re comfortable with, whether it be a $1 chapstick or a $500 iPad.
•Don’t lift a store that you’re not familiar with the layout of. Someone had posted to look on IG/Facebook with tagged photos of people in the store(s) you want to lift. You may see blind spot opportunities or camera placement. DO YOUR RESEARCH.
—————————————————–
Just remember to be safe and have fun! If any of you guys need advice/tips/help with anything, my inbox is always open, anon or not. I’m here for you, and that is not just limited to lifting questions. I know that all of this may sound scary and overwhelming to a beginner, but it gets easier. I promise it does. Like I said, you can stop at any time and all of us will understand. Happy lifting! ❤️

I’m actually making one ^^ the only thing is that there arn’t too many who are 100% dedicated so its currently split into those who posted anti-lifter claims and those who dedicated their entire blog to it. If you know of any feel free to message me names or posts. <3
Has anyone thought of a masterpost of Antis?
So idk why this just popped into my head I just woke up lol But Since anti-lifters enjoy making masterpost exposing us What if we had our own floating around the community?? I mean I know there are posts of like “block this person!!” But I’ve seen that a lot of new people (like myself) are joining and idk if thats even a thing or not ya know? Sorry if this isn’t even half way coherent like I said I’ve been awake a full like 3 minutes lmao

so I found this article and its so flattering like
“A community of skilled purported shoplifters has quietly banded together on Tumblr”
“They’re a gang–a group of covert, organized, self-proclaimed criminals who work together to steal and extort things for personal gain.”
“It’s all incredibly elaborate. Anything so diligently thought out must come from the mind of someone brilliant. Or, at the very least, keenly focused.”
“And, seemingly, they’ve found a way to almost always get away with it.”
“They’re one step ahead. They meticulously cover their tracks.”
“Their efforts to protect their identities echo the techniques of real-life grand-theft artists.“
“Their methods are similar to those popularized on television and in movies. High-profile criminals change addresses and phone numbers regularly to evade suspicion; for liftplayers, addresses become usernames and phone numbers become tags, and the community lays low.”
“There’s secrecy to it. It’s a planned operation that keeps those involved close and those on the outside in the dark.”
“And when they do get tracked down and disappear, they’re never really gone. Targeted liftplay bloggers simply vanish and crop up elsewhere with a different name. It’s a virtual game of whack-a-mole: One blog is put on blast for stealing, and when the inevitable onslaught of criticism and targeting ensues, the blog disappears. Immediately, a new one pops up on the other side of the blogosphere. It’s an endless cycle of content posting, exposition, and track-burying.
It’s endless. It’s cyclical. It’s an ever-branching network that is seemingly unstoppable.”
honestly it makes me feel like a criminal mastermind when all I do is hide makeup in my purse lmao

block people who aren't in our community
i don’t care if it gets you more notes i don’t care if they seem harmless
this will eventually get us caught and/or doxxed
i had to block my first person tonight because they didn’t have anything to do with lifting, they didn’t have anything to do with anti-lifting either but anyone can be a snitch.
message me if you’re not a lifting blog but are interested in lifting or have a side blog or whatever.
i don’t want to get myself or anyone i’m following caught.
stay safe xx

Ok, this is exactly why we gotta stop using the generic tags.
If you want safely boost yourself just message a bigger blog saying “Hiya, I’m new to liftblr... Can you help me boost this haul/tip post to the community?” (etc.) Majority of blogs are glad to help out and I’m sure are down for new tips/hauls anyway.
You can also just create your own tags like #(name)hauls or #(name)posts so your blog is organised and followers can find your stuff.
Stay safe everyone,
🚨 ALERT OMG 🚨
THERE IS A TWITTER POST TALKING ABOUT LIFTBŁR AND THEY JUST DROPPED A “MASTERPOST” OF LIFTING BLOGS IT MIGHT BE OLD BUT STILL

Shopping Centre Haul - Smaller Haul cause school holiday lifting is not that easy*
So ya’ll probably know @swiperelzorro‘s iconic post;
Me prior to lifting: “Fuck, I hate school holidays: crowds, groups of loud teenagers everywhere, screaming children, staff too busy to help you…” Since then: “Fuck, I love school holidays: crowds, groups of loud teenagers everywhere, screaming children, staff too busy to help you…”
That was not me this time ^^’ Although I’m sure it was just area I chose to go for the day. (*If your shopping in the South-West area of where I’m from, majority of staff assume teenagers/young adults are shoplifting.)
So I guess the lesson learnt is “Know where your reputation could stand before you go lifting in a certain area.”
