Choosing the Right Chemical Cleaning Supplies for Your Business
Cleaning is an essential aspect of any business, and choosing the right cleaning supplies is crucial to ensuring that your facility is clean, hygienic, and safe for employees and customers. However, with so many different types of chemical cleaning supplies available in the market, it can be overwhelming to choose the right product for your specific cleaning needs. In this blog post, we’ll discuss the key factors to consider when choosing chemical cleaning supplies for your business.
Identify your cleaning needs
The first step in choosing the right chemical cleaning supplies is to identify your cleaning needs. Different businesses have different cleaning requirements depending on the nature of their business and the surfaces that need to be cleaned. For example, a restaurant will require different cleaning supplies than a hospital. Identifying your cleaning needs will help you narrow down your options and choose the right products for your business.
Consider the surface to be cleaned
The type of surface to be cleaned plays a significant role in choosing the right chemical cleaning supplies. Certain surfaces are sensitive to harsh chemicals and may require specialized cleaning products. For example, hardwood floors require different carpet disinfectants cleaning supplies than carpeted floors. Make sure to choose cleaning supplies that are appropriate for the surfaces in your business to avoid damage.
Look for eco-friendly options
With growing concerns about the impact of cleaning chemicals on the environment, it’s essential to consider eco-friendly cleaning options. Look for cleaning supplies that are made from natural and biodegradable ingredients, and that have minimal impact on the environment. Not only is eco-friendly cleaning products better for the environment, but they can also be safer for employees and customers.
Choose products that are safe for humans and pets
It’s essential to consider the safety of the people and pets that will come into contact with the cleaning supplies. Some cleaning supplies can be harmful if inhaled or ingested, and may cause skin irritation or other health problems. Choose cleaning supplies that are safe for humans and pets, and that have clear instructions for use and disposal.

Check the quality of the product
When it comes to cleaning supplies, quality matters. Cheap and low-quality cleaning products may not be as effective at removing dirt and grime, and may require more products to achieve the desired results. This can lead to higher costs and more waste. Choose cleaning supplies that are of good quality, and that have been tested and proven to be effective.
Consider the cost
The cost of cleaning supplies is an important consideration for any business. While it may be tempting to choose the cheapest cleaning supplies, this may not always be the best option. Cheap products may not be as effective, may require more products to achieve the desired results, and may need to be replaced more frequently. Consider the long-term costs of the cleaning supplies you choose, including how often they need to be replaced, to make an informed decision.
Look for products with clear labeling and instructions
When choosing chemical cleaning supplies, it’s important to look for products that have clear labeling and instructions for use and disposal. The labeling should provide information on the ingredients in the product, any safety warnings, and how to use and dispose of the product properly. Clear labeling and instructions can help ensure that the cleaning supplies are used safely and effectively.
In conclusion, choosing the right chemical cleaning supplies for your business can be a daunting task, but by considering your cleaning needs, the surfaces to be cleaned, eco-friendliness, safety, quality, cost, and labeling, you can make an informed decision. It’s also important to use the cleaning supplies as directed, to ensure that they are used safely and effectively. By choosing the right cleaning supplies, you can ensure that your facility is clean, hygienic, and safe for everyone.

How to use AI & ChatGPT in the cleaning industry in 2023
Do you feel like technology should have a bigger role in your cleaning operations in 2023? Now, believe it or not, artificial intelligence, or AI as it's more affectionately known, is well within your reach. And yes, this is for everyone, even the technologically challenged.
ChatGPT: An amazing free AI tool
One great example of AI helping in cleaning operations and management in Australia is ChatGPT. It's an AI language model created by OpenAI. It takes a couple of minutes to log on and start playing. Basically, you ask it anything and it answers. ChatGPT is a great way to start learning about what AI can do... you'll be shocked and amazed. We'll cover what you can do and how easy it is to use shortly. This type of AI tech is revolutionary and it can start helping you today. It may even be as big a change as the internet itself, so don't be left behind.
We're not talking about robots, OK?
Robots that clean can use AI but that's not what we're talking about here. This article is about non-robotic AI productivity tools that will make your cleaning operations or business more successful. I know change can be challenging but this is huge and if you'll just give this a go it may change everything for you.
Have no fear... AI is here
Before we go on, I just want to address the elephant in the room. Not many of us like change. Change can be hard. It requires us to think. But this AI change that is upon us is revolutionary and happening very quickly. The time and productivity gains are simply mind-blowing. I urge you to try an AI tool like ChatGPT for just 15 minutes before you decide if AI is or isn't for you. To make it even easier, we've added some example prompts in this article you can copy and paste into ChatGPT to see what it's capable of.
What is AI being used for in the cleaning industry?
AI is being used right now for scheduling, booking appointments, communicating with customers, robotic cleaning machines, and generating reports... it can even optimise cleaning routes and paths.
But that's not what I want to cover here. Ai is being incorporated into plenty of systems and products that are worthwhile for many many organisations. That's all great but these things can take time to implement and are often expensive too.
The big question we want to answer is...
"How can I start winning with AI today, in the next 10 minutes, at no cost?"
Let's answer that now.
Before we start, understand AI tools have limitations
We're going to cover some cool ways you can specifically use ChatGPT in your cleaning business or facility cleaning department. Keep in mind that AI tools can occasionally generate information and content that is factually incorrect and biased. Now the disclaimer is out of the way it's time to have a closer look at what you can do.
24 ways to supercharge your cleaning operations with AI and ChatGPT
While AI tools are amazing, in most cases they will get you 99% there so you will need to proofread and edit certain material. AI also relies on the information you provide it, so try to be as specific as you can with what you want.
It's time to supercharge the cleaning with AI!
1. Articles
Example AI prompt: "Write a blog article about... 5 Amazing Cleaning Hacks That Make Your Life Easier. Give uncommon advice and expert tips."
2. Research
Example AI prompt: "Are probiotic cleaners going to revolutionise the Australian cleaning chemical industry?"
3. Letters
Example AI prompt: "Write a letter to the cleaning staff about arriving to work on time and being friendly to people who walk by. Make it fun."
4. Ask a question
Example AI prompt: "How do you tell the difference between soap scum stains and hard water staining on glass?"
5. Emails
Example AI prompt: "Write a sales email to the customers about ABC's new carpet cleaning service for homes and offices. Be to the point and add some humour."
6. Training materials and courses
Example AI prompt: "Write a training outline for a new cleaner with a disability at a school in Brisbane".
7. Safety risk assessment
Example AI prompt: "Write a safety risk assessment for cleaning a marble hotel foyer in Perth, Australia. The task will be done when guests are around. We'll be using a cleaning supplies gold coast. The cleaning solution is not flammable so don't worry about fire extinguishers".
8. Grammar and spelling
Example AI prompt: "Proofread and edit the following...."
9. Social media replies
Example AI prompt: "Write a reply to this comment a customer put on Facebook... I love your window cleaning service. You leave my windows streak-free every time. Amazing. 5 stars!"
10. Business/Marketing Plan
Example AI prompt: "Write a business plan for a ladies-only cleaning service for homes in an exclusive suburb in Melbourne"
11. Video script
Example AI prompt: "Write a 1-minute video script on why customers should choose ABC's office cleaning service. Has to be simple, short and funny" Add more details if you like.
12. Procedures
Example AI prompt: "Write a procedure for hygienically cleaning a classroom outside school hours."
13. Jingle or song
Example AI prompt: "Write a short jingle for ABC's cleaning service. We clean homes, offices, carpets, windows and more on the Gold Coast"
14. Encouragement

17. Explanations
Example AI prompt: "Why are XO2 cleaning products the best cleaning products in Australia?" (Cheeky plug)
You are probably getting the idea. There's not much AI can't do. Here are some more things you can do with AI (without examples)...
18. Do SEO Research
19. Make a website
20. Debug code
21. Summarise anything
22. Create resumes
23. Proposals
24. Headlines
and the list goes on and on and on!
Get the most out of AI and ChatGPT
The new skill of this decade will be the ability to make requests and prompts for AI. What I mean is the skill of using text or speech to give the AI a starting point and then enough clues for it to understand and deliver exactly what you want.
When you get an answer that is not quite what you want, give the AI more information so it can improve and refine its answer. AI is smart so you can follow up your request with more information or prompts like, "more please", "make it more fun", "and then?", "continue..." etc.
Examples of some more advanced AI and ChatGPT prompts
• "You are an expert in cleaning. Write a cleaning schedule with procedures for an office. Include daily, weekly and monthly tasks." • "Please always ask questions before you answer. Do this so you can better understand what is being asked. Is that OK?" Ask this before your request.
• "I want you to act as a marketing expert. Please create a campaign to promote cleaning services in Australia. Choose a target audience, develop key messages and slogans, select the best media channels for promotion, and decide on any additional activities needed to reach your goals. Start with this request... “I need help creating an advertising campaign for a new school cleaning service targeting private schools in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.”
• "Generate a modern list of the ten commandments for the cleaning industry in Australia in 2023, using Aussie slang!"
• "Generate a risk bowtie diagram for the risk event 'skills shortage' in the cleaning industry"
• "I want you to act like Bluey from ABC Kids TV show in Australia. Please respond and answer like Bluey. Use the same tone, style and vocabulary that Bluey would use. Answer everything like Bluey would. Let's get started... “Hi Bluey, how are you? Can I help you clean your house?”
Conclusion
AI is a cleaning industry game-changer so don't be left in the dust (cleaning joke, lol), get on board. AI and ChatGPT can do lots of things but best of all it's like a team of virtual assistants, only better! It will save you time and money. It will help you do things you couldn't do before.

How To Clean And Sanitise Your Spa Bath
What's lurking in your spa bath? We aren't keeping our lips sealed about this. We tell you everything you need to know about cleaning your spa bath and keeping it hygienically fresh for everyone!
There isn't anything more appealing than seeing a ‘spa bath’ on an accommodation reservation site, however, when spa baths are not cleaned and maintained properly it can turn into a disaster! There is nothing worse than filling up the bath only to see bits of hair, mould, bacteria even just dirty water in the bath, this can become a terrifying experience for guests even resulting in bad feedback.
Why should we clean and sanitise spa baths?
Spa baths are a common hiding place for nasty bacteria and other harmful organisms that can cause serious illnesses if not properly maintained. Legionella bacteria, E. coli (Escherichia coli) and Staphylococcus aureus infection (aka staph or golden staph) that has been left to multiply in the jets, pipes and pumps where biofilm (slimy growths of bacteria, algae and fungi) is allowed to form. Spas also generate aerosols (tiny airborne water droplets) that can be inhaled. It is really important to clean and sanitise your system properly.
‘Who was last in this spa and did they have any illness or open wounds? When was the last time this spa was properly cleaned, sanitised and treated ?'
If you are providing accommodation services, you don’t want your guests thinking about this, which they are. XO2® SpaKling was designed for these very reasons; to clean and sanitise spa baths… and other stuff so that you can impress your guests with amazing accommodation experiences.
How do you clean and sanitise a spa bath?
The Health Department highly recommends treating your spas after every single guest checkout. This is your duty of care. XO2® wants to help you with this so we have put together steps to ensure every spa bath is left SpaKling!
Spa bath - Regular flush treatment
Step 1. Fill the spa bath with cold or hot water to 3cm above the jet line. Hot water is
preferred but not essential.
Step 2. Add 50mL of XO2® SpaKling to the water. For larger spas keep in mind you will need approx 50mL per 200 litres of water.
Step 3. Turn jets (pump) on and run jets for 5-10 minutes. Foaming will occur which is what you want.
Step 4. Turn the jets off and drain bath. Rinse the bath surfaces with water after it is drained.
Step 5. Check and clean the spa intake filter for hair and debris.
Step 6. Apply diluted XO2® SpaKling onto the bath and surrounding surfaces via spray or squirt bottle. Wipe off with a clean cloth.
Step 7. Polish the bath with clean, dry cloth for a sparkling shine. Apply XO2® SpaKling Water Resistant Hygiene Seal.
If your spa bath hasn’t had a clean for a while, XO2® recommends the initial first time flush treatment. For the initial clean and treatment, follow steps 1-4 above and then repeat the process again all the way from 1-7. Increase the chemical amount to 100mL and the treatment time to 15-20 minutes.
Handy hint: Applying the XO2® SpaKling Water Resistant Hygiene Seal ensures your guests know the spa has been cleaned since it has last been used and can confidently relax and enjoy the spa.
General Cleaning
Apply diluted XO2® SpaKling onto the bath and surrounding surfaces via spray or squirt bottle. Wipe off with a clean cloth.
XO2® SpaKling’s super simple 2 in 1 action effectively cleans and treats the entire system including surfaces, pumps, pipes, jets and drains. It breaks down and dislodges body fat, hair, soap, slime, mould, mildew, algae, organic matter and biological waste.
XO2® SpaKling isn't limited to just spa baths but can actually treat dishwashers and laundry machines. Instructions for these treatments can be found on the XO2® SpaKling TIG as well as some of our Handy hints.
Why did we choose quaternary ammonium compound as our formula base?
Simply put, it works the best in this application. There has been a lot of research and field testing done on the effectiveness of quat and its performance against the likes of sodium hypochlorite (bleach/chlorine) based formulations. The quat effectively reduces pathogenic bacteria in the application of spas as opposed to disappointing results from sodium hypochlorite. There are also the ‘in use’ safety concerns of using chlorine-based products in the application of cleaning. But it is worth mentioning that not all quats are created equal. And it is a case of you get what you pay for. At XO2®, we buy the best raws on the market with the cost being associated with the molecular weight. High grade quat has a lower molecular weight and is more costly to produce but is more effective at soil removal as well as being far more effective as an antimicrobial agent.
XO2® SpaKling has been cleverly formulated to provide wide spectrum antimicrobial and anti-bacterial performance. It is designed to effectively and hygienically clean spa baths, hydrotherapy spa baths, automatic dishwasher machines, laundry machines and more!
XO2® SpaKling protects the health of your guests, ensuring your duty of care requirements are met and protects your reputation. The cool part is that it is so safe and easy to use because the product works by simply ‘flushing out the system.’ XO2® SpaKling is working whilst you are servicing the other parts of the room.
Want to learn more about what's lurking in your spa bath?
Here are three of the most common nasties that are making people sick after relaxing in an untreated spa. We have pulled this helpful data out of the Queensland Health Swimming & Spa Pool Water Quality and Operational Guidelines that you can visit this page on the Queensland Health website.
1. Staphylococcus aureus - Staphylococcus is often found in water when bathers are present and is associated with flaking skin, dandruff and nasal secretions.
2. Pseudomonas aeruginosa - The predominant source of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in pools and spas is from infected humans, the surrounding environment can be a source of contamination. When present in large numbers it can cause ear, eye and skin infections, and particularly folliculitis.
3. Thermotolerant (faecal) coliforms or Escherichia coli (E. coli) - Thermotolerant coliforms and particularly E. coli are normal inhabitants of the intestinal tract of humans, mammals and birds where they are present in great numbers.
You can also click here for Queensland Health's helpful Public Health Fact Sheet for the Cleaning of Spa Baths.

The Xo2 Fragrance Guide
In this blog article, we'll explain what our odour control and cleaning chemical manufacturer product fragrances smell like along with some helpful tips and information on how to get the most out of fragrances in your facility.
XO2 has been supplying and manufacturing odour control solutions, air fresheners and professional cleaning products since 1968. We understand the importance of fragrance, and we know how important it is to you. You want to love what you use... right!? And you want your customers and guests to comment on how nice your place smells too. And if you're buying a product for the first time, you want to know as much as you can about it to make the best purchase decision for your needs and wants. Fragrance is also subjective... that means we all like (and dislike) different things. Our customers tell us all of these things and so we have worked hard to formulate with safe and premium fragrances. Here's our guide to help you make the best choice... and there's a frequently asked fragrance questions section right at the bottom for you too.
What fragrance will you choose? Here's the guide...
Zero (No fragrance)
This is fragrance free! So it’s not only great for use in applications where people or animals are sensitive or allergic to fragrance, but also so that you know how you are going with finding and removing odours. Fragrances can sometimes get in the way of odour control.
Aloe Vera (Crisp, Cool, Refreshing, Soothing)
Enjoy the crisp, cool, refreshing and soothing scents of our Aloe Vera Cucumber blend! This special fragrance is typically used in our skin, body and hair hygiene range. This blend is trusted and loved by all. It never offends but instead confirms the quality of the product and the refreshing sense it exudes just like after sun lotion to sunburn! We added the perfect amount of cucumber into the aloe vera which takes the refreshing sent to the next level!
Apple (Fruity, Fresh)
Fresh, crisp, fruity, sweet apple! Fragrance is subjective but this apple blend is loved by all and is considered one of the safest bets when you want a fragrance that everyone will love. Apple aromatherapy delivers enthusiasm, excitement, delight and freshness. Experience an uplifting environment where motivation and activity can thrive with genuine happiness and efficiency.
Baby Powder (Vanilla, Floral, Musk)
This special blend is Baby Powder with a mix of floral and musk added to it. This blend is especially popular for use around textiles like carpet, upholstery and curtains.
Deluxe (Fruity, Spicy)
This is an exclusive blend of fragrances that we accidentally whipped up decades ago that turned out great! The idea behind it was to find a blend that would be really effective on cigarette smoke odours. An anti-tobacco blends type of thing! It’s a tough one to explain but you will definitely get some spicy notes coming out of this as well as some sweet fruity ones too. It falls into our calming category where you feel calm and relaxed by it. Sometimes this is because the bad smells are gone! Deluxe is a strong but pleasant fragrance that hangs around and lets off some delightful fragrance notes.
Eden (Floral, Woody, Citrus, Fruity)
Inspired by the Garden of Eden, this fragrance is a very special blend of floral, woody, citrus and fruity notes. In the end, you get this inviting, relaxing, divine, fresh and absolutely beautiful fragrance that’s interesting as it slowly releases the different notes.
Eucalyptus (Camphoraceous)
Only the best will do! We use pharmaceutical grade eucalyptus essential oils made in Australia. You get the hygienic and premium smell of the Australian Eucalyptus tree with the added health and antimicrobial properties. It’s strong and bitey, and it smells of premium grade eucalyptus bliss.
Green Forest Pine (Camphoraceous)
This hygienic and fresh smelling fragrance is derived from the needles of the pine tree. It’s a strong premium grade fragrance that takes you for a walk through a healthy green pine forest. It’s got that clean smell to it!
Jellybean (Fruity, Sweet)
This is a sweet, juicy fruity, bubblegum, jelly bean fragrance that everyone loves! It has a fruity start to it with orange, lemon, blueberry, apple, strawberry, and pineapple notes, followed by star anise, clove and cinnamon in the middle, and it finishes off with sweet sugary wintergreen leaves.
Lavender (Floral, Aromatic)
Be warmly touched by the loving characteristics let off by this traditional lavender fragrance. It’s like taking a stroll in fields of lavender where it can relax and de-stress you, help you to forget problems, reduce stress and say goodbye to anxiety, while giving you a feeling of peace, strength and patience. Some say you literally feel your headaches go away.
Lemon Grass (Fruity, Citrus, Green, Aromatic)
This intense, radiant fragrance is inspired by Eastern India where the Lemon Grass has this divine long lasting intense zesty bite to it! It’s lemony, intense, invigorating, uplifting and the biggest seller! It helps to relieve stress, anxiety and depression. It lifts the spirit and gets things moving in a positive direction.
Lime (Citrus, Fruity)
This smells like a juicy lime! It's sweet (yet tart), juicy, citrusy and has some bite! Lime is well known for its ability to energies, freshen and cheer things up.
Musk (Sweet, Luxurious)
This fragrance is a sweet musk just like the good old pink musk lolly sticks! It starts off with fresh citrus mandarin, followed by Geranium, cinnamon and mint, and finishes off with a creamy vanilla pleasant note.
Orange (Citrus)
Be invigorated and motivated to enjoy the moment with clarity and clearness of mind with some smack-in-the-face orange! The strong citrus tones alongside a subtle floral touch will inspire you to enjoy the fresh, brilliant beauty and brightness of every new day. Leave yesterday behind and embrace now with joy, energy, enthusiasm and positivity.
Pine (Woody, Fresh, Hygienic)
This hygienic and fresh smelling fragrance is derived from the needles of the pine tree. It’s a strong premium grade fragrance that takes you for a walk through a healthy green pine forest. It’s got that clean smell to it.
Spice (Spicy)
Spice reminds some of the West Indian Bay Rum scent or a men's cologne. It has some spicy notes coming out of this as well as some sweet fruity ones too. Spice is strong but pleasant. Revitalize and recharge your senses with an energy boost that will motivate and inspire you to do great things. Enjoy focus and concentration for good decision making while replacing tiredness and confusion with excitement and positive action.
Tropical (Floral, Vanilla, Musk)
This special blend is a mix of floral, musk and baby powder. This mix promotes a lot of good thoughts and will create positive energy and a renewed mind. You can do this! This blend is especially popular for use around textiles like carpet, upholstery and curtains. It is a hybrid of calming and energising aromatherapy.
Vanilla (Balsam)
So nice, you just want to eat it! But please don’t :) Vanilla has been around since day dot and is a hugely popular and safe choice. Enjoy an atmosphere filled with the calming embrace of this wonderfully relaxing and romantic vanilla. Experience the healing properties this naturally soothing vanilla provides as it's known to lower blood pressure, reduce stress and tension, calm the nervous system, relax a tired brain, promote sleep and give heartfelt feelings of peace and well-being.
And now, here's some fragrance questions you might want the answers to....
1.Why change your fragrances regularly?
When we overuse a fragrance, our sense of smell can become desensitised over time. Our noses can no longer pick up the strength or the different notes of the fragrance. That's why we recommend rotating your fragrances every time you order. Most people have 2 or 3 favourites that they will rotate between.
2. What is the best fragrance for removing smells and bad odours?
Fragrances can freshen a space and make it smell wonderful. If you are also looking for a long term solution for odour problems, fragrances are an important part, but only a part of the solution. For odours to be permanently eliminated the fragrance needs to be accompanied by the correct odour removal chemistry and make contact with the source of the odour for a suitable period of time.
3. What fragrance do you recommend for dog, cat and pet odours?
Choosing any fragrance in our Odour Kill, Pee Off and Oradicator products will work a treat. Fragrance is also very popular because the technician knows how they are going with progress on the odour.
4. Are your fragrance products safe to use around pets and animals?
Yes... Linga Longa, 5 in 1, Odour Kill, Pee Off and Oradicator are safe to use around dogs, cats, pets and animals. These products are not suitable for application directly onto any animal.
5. How to choose the right odour control product?
We have a very cool odour control selection guide being added here very soon. In the meantime, feel free to get in touch with our team for some advice.

Which Vacuum Cleaner Floor Tool Is Right For You?
Did you know that when a vacuum cleaner is not quite doing the job it’s not always the vacuum cleaner’s fault? Little thought is often given to the type of vacuum cleaner floor tool used on the vacuum's wand. Turns out that little fitting has a lot to do with how quickly and effectively you can vacuum your floor. Choosing the right one can make a huge difference. They are easy and inexpensive to buy too.
So what are your floor tool choices and what works best where?
Whether you call them vacuum feet or tools it doesn’t really matter. You just want one that fits, works well and won’t damage your floor surfaces. Here’s our top 4 recommendations…
1. Standard Dual Purpose Vacuum Floor Tools
• Great on carpet and hard floors. They will most often have wheels or brushes underneath so the bottom of the floor tool won’t scrape along the hard floor surface.
• Some of these tools have a pedal to switch between carpet and hard floor mode. This pedal or button retracts the brush for carpet and puts the brush down for hard floors. You just have to remember to push the button before you move to a hard floor area or you may scratch the surface.
• Most vacuum cleaners when they are purchased come with this type of tool.
• This type of tool is inexpensive to buy and easy to replace when your old tool is worn out.
• It’s best not to wait for your tool to completely wear out before replacing because they can do damage to a floor surface.
• Vacuum manufacturer’s don’t tend to cover this item under their machine warranties because they class it as a wear and tear item. Floor tools will last if you treat them well but if you bang them around they will break from time to time. Some floor tools treated badly may only last for a single use up to 3 months of use. Other floor tools treated well will last much much longer.
2. Specialty Hard Floor Vacuum Tools
• Some floor tools are made just for hard floors. Specialty hard floor tools used in dry areas usually have brushes and sometimes wheels too. Tools designed for wet areas will have squeegees and sometimes have wheels also.
• Specialty hard floor vacuum tools usually don’t work that well on carpet.
• Whether it’s by brushes, wheels or microfibre attachments these tools are designed not to scratch floor surfaces like polished timber and marble.
• High quality hard floor tools will often have replaceable squeegees or brushes so you don’t have to get a new tool every time those parts wear out.
3. Turbohead Floor Tools
• Great on carpet and hard floors. Most Turboheads are only suitable for carpets, so if you want to use a Turbohead floor tool on hard floors be sure to choose one that has wheels so the bottom won’t scrape along the surface.
• The brush in the floor tool is turned by the airflow of your vacuum cleaner to deep clean surfaces. The more powerful your vacuum the better the brush turn will be.
• Cleans deep into the pile of carpets.
• Good for removing dirt, dust, pet hair, allergens and even dust mites.
• There are no cords or motors.
• Very lightweight and easy to change on and off the wand.
• It’s an easy way to clean faster and better.
• A Turbohead is cost effective, high productivity tool.
• Great for pre-vacuuming before professional hot water carpet extraction or dry cleaning.
• Hair and strands will get caught on the brush which will need to be cleaned from time to time. A pair of scissors can help remove the wound up hair. If you don’t remove the build up, the brush will stop turning properly and the tool will wear out faster.
4. Powerhead Floor Tools
• Very effective for vacuuming carpet and much more powerful than a Turbohead floor tool.
• A motorised brush beats and deep cleans the carpet fibres.
• Excellent for removing dirt, dust, pet hair, allergens and even dust mites.
• The roller brush is powered by a motor in the tool.
• A cord runs from the machine down the hose and wand to the tool to provide power.
• Much heavier than a Turbohead and more difficult to change on and off the wand if you want to switch tools.
• Not very efficient for vacuuming stairs.
• Powerhead floor tools don’t fit all vacuum cleaner machines as they require a power outlet on the machine to work.
Don’t forget this when you get your next vacuum floor tool
Remember the floor tool neck size you require. That’s the inside diameter of the neck of the vacuum floor tool. The most popular floor tool neck size at XO2 is 32mm but 38mm and 35mm are sometimes required for particular vacuum cleaner wands. There are a few other odd sizes out there too just to make things a little more difficult.
There’s lots of floor tools to choose from. When it comes to vacuuming there are many possible floor tool - vacuum cleaner - floor surface combinations. That’s why the best floor tool is the one that works for you. So if you’d like to improve your vacuuming perhaps try something new. It could save you a lot of time and money.
