lately ive been playing ultra sun, it's the last game from the 3ds era that I haven't finished everything in so I've been doing that before finally moving the rest of my pokemon to bank and then home. and. it's reigniting my crush on rotomdex a little. it's kind of insane how fucking cute it is and how weirdly... intimate it is lmao. like always on the bottom screen staring and talking to you and responding when you poke it. the cute droopy eyes and little hearts... the cute animation when you use a roto power. fucking ridiculous. like just ridiculous how cute this thing is. god I miss rotomdex.

the ONLY problem with VR being Soed spawn now is that he is no longer a renegade. he is very much doing exactly what Soed spawn tend to do and what Soed would want him to do if it was sentient and he is thrilled to be doing it. he's still a virus but mans is not renegading against anything.

hmm. i suppose if Cell named him then it still fits? he is sort of rebelling against Cell's idea of an ideal world... or whatever. something like that. or/also i could consider the idea that maybe, just once, Cell tried to reason with a Soed spawn, attempt to get it to integrate peacefully with the world (perhaps for Amino's sake/Amino asked him to try because it's her world too), and it maybe even worked for a bit until VR went off the shits like "fuck you you're not my dad" and carried on as his usual self

it could be that Cell threatened VR to comply and it worked for a while until VR figured out that Cell and Amino can't actually harm/kill him at all lol

I'm thinking of Oxy being the same type of Thing that HazeVR and "Trojan" are. weird neutral (?) entity that came into existence outside of the Designers and Soed and everything, that can freely travel between worlds and cause real harm to Soed spawn that even Designers can't accomplish. hesitant because I don't want there to be too many of these anomalies, but it suits her... since VR is Soed spawn now, she has to be some weird thing for the whole "preying on VR" situation to work

also I think it's funny that she just happens to kind of fit in with HazeVR and Trojan's designs/origins. they being repurposed/reimagined old versions of OCs, her originally being made as a doppelganger of another OC (belonging to someone else) and being repurposed into her own thing

depends on the setting/his role but he's never completely immovable. he tends to lean toward following rules and enforcing them on others strictly, big examples of that are SCP or demon AU. a lot of this comes from him really really valuing and needing structure in his life lol. but he is not heartless or an idiot, he knows not all rules/laws are moral or appropriate

What makes their stomach turn?

cruelty, losing control. hurting others, especially physically. i don't think anything makes him especially like squeamish if that's what we're talking about lol

Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth? 

no, never. he doesn't like doing it to others either

How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive? 

generally yeah, i guess? he is... the way he is, so his "support" isn't exactly chipper, but he's not like mean or intentionally dismissive or anything. he's a very good listener for like, infodumping lol, since he likes taking in new information so much. he will always remember the things that are important/special to people he knows

terribly easy. he has so much joy. he'll laugh at most jokes, even at his own expense, and often laughs when he's nervous or embarrassed

How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)?

he's inquisitive and will always look for answers, but might be hesitant or avoid it if it seems like a sensitive topic

What embarrasses them?

any kind of romantic attention/flirting/innuendo jokes and stuff, and sometimes his own uh. lack of efficiency as a machine? it's small but he is a little embarrassed at his inability to multitask (mainly, fly the ship and converse at the same time), and when he and Lad first start getting close he's a bit timid/shy about their power discrepancy/imbalance (he just feels like a tiny baby calculator next to this 3000 sqft machine)

literally just sitting in place staring at a wall not doing anything? an hour-ish maybe?? say like, human Lad waiting for transport or an appointment/meeting or something. he would certainly prefer to maybe have something to read, but he's patient enough to go without for a bit of time

that's red Lad though. green Lad absolutely cannot turn his brain off and would probably cap out at like 10 minutes at most before needing some kind of outlet or distraction

computer Lad in general would also be different, he keeps himself constantly busy, all his self worth and joy and purpose comes from the work he does, even red computer Lad can't stand not doing anything, sitting still with nothing to do is just a Non Functioning State

use a backscratcher or something i guess lol

Who do they most regret meeting? 

depends on the setting, in most AUs it's either Ophie or Ura1. in canon I guess it would technically be Ura1. second would probably be Boss but that's for much more petty reasons than the other two lmao (just Kind Of Annoying as opposed to a manipulative abuser and/or murderer)

This is embarrassing to admit but. I’m in a crisis. My mental health is the worst it’s ever been in years, and I think I’m being quietly pushed out of my only stable job. The con I was counting on this month turned out to be a scam. I need help.

It was radio silence for over two weeks, and my boss just told me "all shifts are full in the near future". I loved that job. I really needed it to stay afloat when art sales are slow.

i truly just have no patience or respect for anyone that is so determined to ignore or subvert a nonbinary character's pronouns/gender. and i'm not talking about genuine innocent ignorance or mistakes or language barriers. i'm talking about fucking "up to interpretation" "but they never SAY they're nonbinary" copium and desperately searching for evidence that makes them a man or a woman or arguments/headcanons to make them a man or a woman. it's gross and annoying and it's so upsetting that this overwhelmingly happens to genderless characters. nobody blinks an eye at a "he" or a "she" but as soon as a character uses "they" or "it" or something else it's suddenly a fucking debate or a mystery or something to solve. some people just cannot accept nonbinary as the answer and it's so fucking infuriating and disheartening

at this point M is the one with the least amount of development and I find myself stuck on what to do with them to flesh them out and make them more interesting for me

one thing is that the other three are at best morally dubious and at worst irredeemably evil, but M is just perfectly nice! they don't fit in lmao!

I still think the idea of this powerful and mysterious inhuman cosmic entity being just kind of mild and shy and loving humans is cute and funny, but I'm trying to think of how to change them to put them more in line with the others. give them some kind of edge that makes them more fun for me

I might end up leaning into a very "neutral" disposition. not so much fond of humans but just seeing them as particles to manipulate like everything else, seeing them like objects. not purposefully cruel or anything but curious and analytical, like Amasar, but less about the meat and more about the mind??

they can still be a little shy and awkward though I think that's important. and entirely possible for them to still get some good ending where they learn to love or whatever

the weird guys (Ludo, M, Amasar, Church) are generally kind of separate, existing just as characters to interact with a faceless protag. Ludo and Amasar hate each other a lot but that's all I've ever really thought of in terms of relationships they have amongst each other

so I just randomly started thinking about them having a weird collaborative/symbiotic relationship in their usage of bodies. Amasar likes dissecting people, Ludo uses them as nests or food, Church likes the opportunity to move around/interact with others in a body sometimes. M doesn't really have any body-related hobbies but I thought maybe they're the one that collects the bodies, teleporting in bodies whenever one of the others needs meat for something

just the idea of them taking turns passing around bodies for their various weird needs is really funny to me and the fact that none of them really likes each other that much but they get along for this one thing is like. morbid moe. sorry lmao

and I must add I specifically use "body" instead of corpse or cadaver or whatever because sometimes the bodies are still alive

I've been reading a bunch of my old writing from when I was a teen. it's all very amateur and a lot of it is so cringy but there is also occasional lines/scenes/moments that are actually so fucking funny. either because they're so stupid they're funny or they're just actually funny

it's fun looking back and seeing just the obnoxious amount of influence that hitchhiker's guide and how to train your dragon had on my writing style throughout the 2010s. I wasn't exactly good at it but the influence was strong and every so often I wrote a little gem

much of my enjoyment of this old writing probably also comes from nostalgia and just being charmed by the creations of a younger me, so none of these stories (except the few that were already posted online years ago) will ever been seen by anyone but me, because it's still a little embarrassing lmao. they're little nuggets of joy just for me

I watched:

Possession (1981): not my thing

The Medium (2021): it was alright, had some cool moments but it didn't really grab me

Violence Voyager (2018): well. that was weird. there's a fine idea but the execution was kinda meh. not so great pacing and acting. weird moments where 2 characters literally just talk over each other? one in particular where character A starts to respond to character B before character B even started talking?? cool art and animation i guess. why did those 2 kids have indented cross hatch patterns on their foreheads

Psycho Goreman (2020): i wanted to like this so bad. i loved the whacky costume design and practical effects, goofy fight scenes and ridiculous gore, and there was some great jokes, especially with PG and the other alien characters. but holy fucking shit that little girl ruined the movie. just the most horrendous/annoying acting and writing. type of character that does NOT work for a full length live action movie

Starry Eyes (2014): meh

The Creep Tapes S1 (2024): they were alright, same overall vibes and quality as the movies i think, just condensed. i probably shouldn't have watched them all in one sitting because after like an hour mark duplass' character starts to get kind of more annoying than creepy/funny lol
