[W29] new idea (again...)

Instead of making abstract line graphics for each song,

i think making patterns would be more time saving and interesting for me. 

And patterns can be inspired with actual things. 

the patterns need to relate with the songs. colours used would be very insterestin experiment too. 

This is one of the patterns i made when i was in bangkok...

Something i was doing last night.. it was generated from my sketchbook drawing...

Though i think hand drawn is better than this one. 

It indicates colourful music (variety of music) together.

The blue stirry ‘hurricane’-like behind indicates different genres of music mixing together.

And all the music notes hanging on different area of the stir. 

this might associate better with some kind of music collaboration, such as singers who sing pop, R&B, dance, electric or classic, like different people gather together and make music.

Would these fit in to my project? 

To be a main theme?

Or just an accompany/support style /graphics? 

I will need to experiment a bit more. 

the one like the second image might look a bit off, and the first one is more likely to be similar to my project...

I think these linear style can be applied to my sketch. 

At first, i wanted to try having those sketch on my lyrics book like this:

However, now i found another idea. So i am going to try both and see which ones goes well

[W29] Research: Existing album

Another existing album design research. Another research on AKMU’s album as well. 

I previously lightly looked at AKMU’s first album ‘PLAY’.

Because AKMU’s style and image is very hipster, folky, I personally think it somehow similar to Ting Tiffany’s style, as she debuted with a full english music album, 9 out of 10 songs were classical songs.

[W29] Stickers update

So i just finished making these stickers last night. 

These are the stickers that will be included in the album.

However, i think i need to add a background and gather all stickers in one piece, basically follow printing requirements. 

it looks like the minium printing quantity is 250 piece. So i might need to o some more altering...

[W29] Research: Stickers types

As I am going to put my stickers through order, I was doing research on what stickers types are there.

Vinyl (clear, shite) - removable, permanent, extra permanent

Window cling - clings with static rather than adhesive

Adhesive Paper - ‘very strong’ stickers

Sticker postcard stock - paper or vinyl sticker with a stiff card backing

Within these categories, there are more specific types of stickers:

Kiss Cut - the shape is usually regular, e.g. square, rectangle 

Example as below:

Die Cut - The edge cut right off where the actual sticker is. It covers whole of the sticker paper.

[W28] Songlist + applying mood tone

Because Ting Tiffany released two studio albums in total in the last 2 years, so I will be selecting a number of songs from both albums, taking them into this album redesign. 

Here below is my selection:

[W28] Album songs selection progress+abstract visual draft

Because Tiffany released two albums so far in the last two years, I am going to select approximately 12 songs from both of her album, and take them to my album redesign.

In order to select songs, i listened to her first album 19 Nineteen again last night. While I was listening, I also did some abstract drawing on my sketchbook and writing down my ideas of that drawing quickly. By doing this, this will help me with the feelings and what kind of graphics or colours of the lyrics book will be. 

I want to have illustration on each page of song in the lyrics book.

Below is the sketch and notes i did last time. 

The sketch was drawn quickly and what i initially thought when the music starts.

I did 13 songs in total though, so what I need to do now is to take one song out. Probably an english song, just to make it equal.

Found colours were found in several images of Ting Tiffany. Colours were selected from her clothing.
