On April 16th 2025 the US federal government has proposed to change the interpretation of the endangered species act so that it no longer protects habitat.

This is open for public comment until the end of May 19th. Please comment and make your voice heard.

Wildlife need their habitat. If the ESA redefines harm so that habitat is no longer protected, the implications for wildlife would be catastrophic.

There's more that makes this whole thing even funnier.

1. They didn't stop showing it because of the song thing, they stopped showing it because it didn't work AT ALL, as data suggests it may have actually increased piracy rates, AND it was met with incredible amounts of ridicule from the public.

2. While the song situation is supposedly just because of a mix up with another anti-piracy campaign that used music without permission, it was confirmed RECENTLY (April 2025) that the FONT used was in fact a pirated version of that font

they don't just make the noises, they mimic mobs nearby. so it is a pretty good indicator if you're looking for potential caves while strip mining or trying to find mobs that started spawning in a creeper hole that you only covered the top of because you thought that would be enough but now you've built an entire town on top of that covered hole and don't remember where exactly it is

I don't think I've seen anyone talk about how the actual worst part about having divorced/split parents that you swap between is when the wiring for switches in the houses is different. Whether it's because it doesn't exist or is just really hard to find, I cannot seem to locate a playlist that consists of songs that are woefully misunderstood by christians and thus played in churches when they're usually about sex, not actually worship. I'm looking to change that.

At its very core, "not agreeing with the lifestyle" IS the problem, and too many people don't see that. If you would rather a person suffer their entire existence because you believe that they shouldn't be allowed to make the choices that will allow them to enjoy living, that's fucked up. Also! Not getting or understanding it are also totally different from disagreeing with it! I don't get why people drink alcohol, but I don't think that no one should ever be allowed to drink alcohol. I don't get why people skip college lectures without reason, but I don't think they should be hunted down and punished for it.

I currently work at a specialty coffee shop and I dread the wave of people asking for a cortado when they actually want the bastardized sbux cortado. Thankfully, our register is somewhat sparse in terms of actual specialty drinks so it ends up being a case of "We don't have that in our system so it's going to ring up as a latte, but we're going to make a [insert bullshit drink] :)"

also while im waiting for my tea to steep, since im petty, and they cant fire me any more than they already have i can tell you about the Button That Makes You Lie To People because i CANNOT stop thinking about it and its driving me fucking nuts

i worked at a fancy gourmet coffee shop, but not everyone who came in knew that or cared, so we’d occasionally get ppl who got all their coffee knowledge from starbuckses. starbuckae? starbukakke

anyway sbux has this thing where they’re literally just wrong about what they call some drinks. for example, a cappuccino is traditionally a double shot of espresso with milk foam, like a few sips of drink, but at starbucks the smallest possible “cappuccino” is 8oz and espresso with that much milk? is really just a bastard latte. 

but to explain that to someone who doesnt know better takes time, and there a line forming, and a latte… is close enough to what someone who thinks of a cappuccino as a 16oz drink is expecting. so if someone asked for a “large cappuccino” we were instructed to go “okay :)”, plug in a large latte, and then, before they could see, scroll down to the secret buttons, the forbidden buttons, the deceit buttons, and press the one called “cappuccino”, in “quotes”, which would not only put a cappuccino on their receipt, but would send a message to the barista, across the room, who would then make a latte, see the pink “cappuccino” indicator, and go 

“large cappuccino? :)”
