The concept of time had escaped you in a way that only happened when someone was numb to the events around them, when an hour felt like a second, and that was exactly what had happened ever since Riko had texted you, demanding your attention in the gym despite how late it was.

While that was unusual, it only settled in that something strange was going on when she had picked you up and skipped the entire way to your destination.

You had spent enough time with the basketball team that their skipping coach was usually bad news.

“Do I even wanna know what’s going on?”

“Aww, don’t worry, (Y/N)-chan. Kagami has something to tell you, after our last match.”

She opened the gym doors for you but instead of entering, she disappeared somewhere.

Hold on...

“Didn’t you guys lose??”

There was no reply from her and after a moment, you walked the last couple steps into the gym, closing the doors behind you.

“Helloooooo??” You called out when you had reached the middle of court and still couldn’t find a reason as to why you were here; it starting to feel more and more like an ill prank.

“Can-can you close you-our eyes...?”

You recognized the voice that was comingfrom behind you and so started to turn.

“Kagami-“

“DON’T TURN AROUND!”

His voice shook but you heeded his demand. You closed your eyes and put your hands over them.

“Good like this?”

“Yeah. Thanks...”

You heard him come closer until he was standing right in front of you, and in the corner of your brain, you noticed that his steps hadn’t resembled the heavy falls of his sport shoes. It was softer.

“Don’t,” he coughed, “Don’t scream. Please.”

You took that as his cue to open your eyes again and you used your free hands to clamp them over your mouth, eyes wide as you took in the boy in front of you.

Utterly naked, his manhood only hidden by his big hands.

Your eyes rushed over him, from his hands to his face, to chest, back to hands and face, which was almost as red as his hair. He had his eyes downcast, looking everywhere but you.

You composed yourself enough to pull your hands from your mouth. “What even...?”

“We uhm we lost our last match. And so... Remember the promises we made? Coach has all confess to our crush to...strengthen our determination.”

You took his words in for a moment.

A second.

And a third.

And then broke out in deep belly laughter.

It was the first time Kagami looked at you, even if it only deepened his blush and embarrassment, thinking you were laughing about him.

“I’m sorry! Hah! Gimme a second!” Wiping the tears from your eyes, you calmed yourself. “Only Riko would think of using embarrassment as a way to get you all more pumped. That’s just funny.”

A small smile appeared on his lips. “I guess so” He took another breath, knowing that he wasn’t out of the woods yet. “I’m really into you, (Y/N). Ever since I ran into you-“

“You mowed me down, you giant” you interrupted him matter of fact, only shrugging when he threw you a look.

“Would you go on a date with this giant, chibi-chan?”

“Only if this giant gets dressed. Or your nickname will be pervert from now on.”

When love sucks

1st: we started dating when we were only kids and split up just like that…

2nd: one of my good friends and guitarist of my previous band told me that he loved me for 5 years…but eventually did nothing

3rd: this guy. oh this guy. GUITARIST, DIMPLES…what can i say. we started something but…well it ended up very badly. (he was 2nd’s BFF. now we are not talking to each other)

4th: my classmate. after 3 years of my big big Big BIG crush i had on him, we ended up not talking to each other

5th: my oh my. this one even doesnt know that i exist….and he is living at the other side of the planet.
