It's a complete inferno, where the Yhohm had last been seen. Nothing short of stonework and steel would be found untouched by the blaze - and even then, the surfaces of such materials would be dented and warped, melting ever so slightly into slag from sheer temperature and heat.

Whatever had set the blaze was long gone - either having abandoned the scene of it's crime, or having perished within the blaze like everything else....

Despite this, a large pile of burning ash and rubble would shift. Pristine, white-feathered wings would explode outward from the smoldering heap, revealing a fragile and battered, humanoid body emerging from the ash - feathers flickering with still-lit flames.

The creature - no, girl - was awake. Albeit sluggish, disoriented - as if she had just awoken from a deep sleep. Perhaps she had? But the pile of ash she had been buried under... whatever had happened, it's clear that she shouldn't have survived.

Truth is, she didn't. She just didn't stay dead. She resurrected.

The other's voice would be enough to startle her into alertness - wings snapping tight around her body defensively, feathered ears instinctively fanning around in her head in a halo-like display. Actions more bird than man. Yet, it's beak mouth would open, words understood regardless of native language.
