I do believe that perhaps we give spirits too much credit for things we think they are doing.But honestly,as long as it satisfies her heart and she finds it as a peaceful reconciliation (despite it clearly not being one or maybe it is?),it's all right.

Maybe we do overthink and overestimate the powers of a "spirit",but if I were a spirit and I saw my loved and cherished ones smiling at some random symbol,name,sign,etc. - just because it reminded them of me,that fact alone would make me happy and I could bet the feeling feeling would be mutual.

I'm listening to this woman who believes her dead husband has been communicating with her from beyond, and quite frankly, the amount of power she thinks her husband's spirit has - and by extension, spirits in general - is absolutely ludicrous when you think it through.

Like she thinks her husband's spirit was responsible for a bunch of robins she saw after his death, which implies that spirits can easily control birds' behavior.

She says she asked for a phoenix as a sign, claiming that phoenixes in stuff are rare. (But are they really, though?) She says that while traveling she passed by a Chinese restaurant with the word "phoenix" in its name, and that her plane flight was diverted through Phoenix, Arizona. This implies that ghosts can easily interfere with any kind of travel.

If you believe that every deceased person leaves a spirit, then you must believe that there are many spirits who would have plenty of things to do besides comforting their windows. Ghosts with agendas and grudges, for example. You'd expect at some point a ghost would make a flock of pigeons go poop all over a controversial political figure. You'd would expect there would be ghosts vindictive enough to make sure their enemies can't go anywhere without getting pooped on by every pigeon in the area. You'd also expect these ghosts would make sure everything around them always goes awry in every way possible.

But it ain't happening, which suggests that this woman's dead husband did not send her a bunch of birds as a sign and did not meddle with her travel route.
