Have you seen the latest S4 tantrum? 😅 not sure what started it but thought it would be nice to get your take on it… although you were already pretty vocal about it, and sooooo right!

I have no idea about what’s going on in the fandom right now. But if I can make an educated guess? They’re salty because their fave was being called out, so they’are overcompensating it. Unlike Carlos, there is part of the fandom thats giving TK shit since season one, and now people being angry at Carlos is a foreign concept to them.

They completed missed the point that wasn't about Carlos having to be the perfect partner, no one expect that. It was never about Carlos not being allowed to have flaws or making mistakes in his relationship. But not even acknowledging when his actions hurted TK? Not acting like he regret it?  In this specific situation is the lack of accountability that made impossible for me to go past this.

I know how you feel… unfortunately S5 Carlos isn’t better… I haven’t even finished the season. And it was my favorite show. Didn’t like their ending at all 😞

Season four completely ruined the show for me. Not watching the final season was the right decision in my case. It’s just frustrating when a show that meant so much isn't enjoyable anymore.

Those fans are now throwing the race card once again for Carlos cause they don’t like how some people write fan fiction..

The face that we can’t criticize characters anymore without getting told we’re racist is embarrassing 

Right now I'm in the process of looking for a new show to obsess over, so I don't know what is happening. I’m not gonna watch the new season and I stopped following the Lone Star tags.

I can talk about what I observed/felt when I was part of the fandom, though.

People are allowed to criticize Carlos because of his actions. It’s ok to still be angry/upset at his character for how he behaved in the Carlos Being Married With Iris Storyline. Yeah, Carlos has every right to be flawed (he’s human), but the problem was never about him being flawed – the problem was that he never acknowledged how unfair he was to his partner.

So here why I don't like Carlos.

1. Carlos never told TK he was already married until it was too late. He simply accepted TK’s proposal and decided to keep the secret.

2. Carlos was only honest with TK after that because he had no other choice, and then when he finally was open with TK about it he decided that it would be a very good idea to have this very delicate conversation in TK’s workplace in the middle of TK’s shift.

3. Carlos saw nothing wrong with Iris thinking it was her place to approve/or disapprove TK.

4. Carlos made wife jokes even if was clear TK was so not comfortable with that and never once acted like he regreted hiding this from TK.

5. Carlos put all decisions about the divorce (something that affected his and TK’s future) in Iris  hands (someone who was a stranger to TK).

6. Carlos blamed TK when Iris went missing. Whenever TK had a conflict with Carlos (meeting Carlos parents, how uncomfortable Carlos was with Cooper), TK is always so understanding (even if sometimes he is angry first and needs to cool of a bit, he always comes back to talk things) and validates Carlos feelings, but Carlos? He was so hostile.

7. That Carlos comment about bad relationships that was obviously directed at TK that you all like to ignore, guess what? It happened.

8. Carlos never apologized for any of this. He never recognized to TK that he was wrong and TK had nothing to do with Iris missing, he never admitted that he treated TK badly. How can I be expected to be go past that when Carlos never acknowledge what he did?

For me those are valid reasons for not liking him.

Because TK is not perfect. He made a lot of mistakes, but he always (or at least most of the time) admits them and apologizes.

I defend TK so much because I don’t think a part of the fandom truly understands how addiction can affect someone.

Thing is, there’s this mindset in the fandom that Carlos was this defenseless boy who chased after TK, when this wasn't never the point. Not only TK had his heart broken, he relapsed. That’s a lot. He had reasons for not wanting to jump in a new relationship, and he was upfront about this with Carlos. He was clear about his boundaries. And if he never wanted something serious with Carlos in the end? He would also be valid. He owned Carlos nothing but being truthful, which he was.

TK is considered immature and childish when a lot of this traits (his impulsiveness, for example) are direct connected with his addiction. And what Iris said about TK being a mess and a project that you guys think its so funny? It's so problematic, harmful and could be triggering, especially because it’s directed at someone who deals with addiction.

But for those who act like Carlos should not be criticized, fear not. TK major character trait since season 4 is being in love with Carlos. It’s so obvious that from now on TK main role will be to support Carlos, and I doubt that at this point he will have a storyline of his own.

Hi, don't want to start a discourse on your blog. So it's okay if you don't post this ask. Just want to vent out.

I have always seen accusation of being racist against the people who criticize Carlos. I want to ask those people if they blame TK for everything just because he is white.

I am POC, my partner is POC and so is every near and dear one to me. Can understand the situations Carlos must have faced, troubles he must have gone through. But still it doesn't give him a right to treat TK that way. Just like whatever trauma and insecurities TK must have faced it doesn't give him a right to shove Carlos in 2x12. I was very upset with TK over that thing. Just like I am upset with Carlos. I love these characters and I have full right to be upset with them irrespective of race.

Honestly TK shoving Carlos in that episode was one of the worst things he did in the show for me. It was awful and I was very upset with him too.

What made me able to move on (with reservations, I have to add) was the fact that after there was a scene in the loft where it was implied that they had talked about it. And more importantly, in that scene TK was still trying to have a conversation about what happened, and it was so clear he understood the gravity of the situation and didn't want to just brush off what happened, he wanted to be held accountable. The only reason he stopped was because Carlos didn't want to talk about it anymore and he respected Carlos boundaries. Did I wanted to be more? Yes, but at least there was something. He never did anything of the sort ever again, with for me shows that he “learned” (and I say learned for lack of a better word).

With Carlos there was none of that. No apologies, or implied apologies/conversations. Not even a scene that showed him acknowledging how bad he handled things with TK (like, when he was kidnapped and talking about TK, a comment about how mean he was to TK or something). There was nothing indicating he regret it. That’s why I’m still so angry at him.

Do you follow any of the actors? Or do you just care for the characters cause ik sometimes how the actor talks about the characters or a storyline can affect how someone likes them.

I did not know that (though I’am not exactly surprised). To be honest I don’t follow any actor/celebrities online. I was interested in the characters only. I just liked to enjoy the content and that’s it haha.

I also regret watching this show modtly because of the fandom, and I’m talking mostly on here. They can use all the big words they want and write big paragraphs too justify these characters but there honestly just bullies that act like they want to hear everyone but in reality what they say goes and they always win cause there’s more of them. Ive found my group of friends on a different platform so im not constantly seeing bullshit but I understand the disappointment feeling season 4 also really ruined the show for me and I’m not excited to see Carlos be an ass for another season

Honestly, until recently I was going to watch until the end, but the notices of Carlos and his new partner and the probability of a spin-off with both of them made me completely lost interest.

The possibility of a Jealous/insecure TK irks me. I also can already how people are going to compare TK with this guy – how this guy is so much better for Carlos than TK, and how this guy has better chemistry with Carlos than TK. How this a payback for the Cooper situation.

(The same way I saw a few people actually happy that TK was suffering in the Carlos Being Married To Iris Storyline, saying that it was finally time for TK to be hurt by Carlos after what he had put Carlos through or something in those lines)

When did you make this account? Was it during s4 cause it remember that’s when I started seeing you. Sid you decide to make it cause everyone was just so ok with the iris thing and you just couldn’t take it.. (cause same)

(Interesting enough I do have another account, but I never posted anything on it)

To be honest I was really nervous in the beginning, I knew a lot of people in the fandom wouldn't like me. What made me start this was pure frustration. I really tried to forget that storyline, to pretend it never happened. I didn't want to be angry at Carlos – no one likes to feel anger, it’s an awful feeling. But it didn't go away and I needed to vent.

The fact that TK interactions with Iris were labeled as funny and amusing is something that I will never get over with. I don’t think enough people in the fandom understand how dangerous that was – I don’t think enough people in the fandom get how often people with addiction deals with self-worth issues, sense of being inadequate and guilty. The things she said could have made so much damage.

And to made someone that deals with addiction to feel like they have to be approved by another person (a stranger, no less) in order to have their relationship with their significant other to be accepted is in such poor taste.

Carlos clearly blaming TK for her disappearance and act with that level of hostility? That was just another level of terrible. That could be the nail in the coffin. Yet there was no talking about it. No apologies, nada.

In the end I truly regret having watched this show.

Reading the cursed child (scorbus, norvelize version in a03). I read the script years ago when I was 11 (funfact it was the first harry potter book I've ever bought). So I'm rereading it again because I have a scorbus brainrot suddenly (11 y/o me shipped Scorpius and Rose so hard but now I grew up let just say my taste had change lmao).

List of thought gonna go longer as I read:

- yo Albus surly personality is basically me when I was 15 it was like looking into a mirror. Hold on there baby I understand you 😭

- I want to write a whole essay on Albus and Harry's relationship. They both are so precious but they just have a hard time with each other.

- Scorpius is the sunshine most sunshine cinnamon role ever. I would kill for him. I would die for him.

- ALL THOSE BULLY BETTER STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM MY OUTCASTS BABIES.

- “And be my good friend.” what if I die.

- why do people love to torture the cinnamon roll??? I want to hug Scorpio so bad like baby you deserve the moon and the sky and the world. And the fact that he's still trying to be so cheerful and optimistic. THE WORLD DOESN'T DESERVE HIM.

- Albus and Harry's father and son angst is killing me but it is also so delicious I relish in it (it's just so complicated I love it).

- "you’re kind, Scorpius. From the depths of your belly, to the tips of your fingers." Is the sweetest thing I've ever heard anyone said. I love this quote so much I want it tattooed on my forehead.

- Again, Scorpius deserve the fucking world.

- Scorpius and Draco's relationship is SO GOOD, SO PURE, SO SOFT. They love each other so much 😭

- brb I'm going to cry at the fact that Dark AU Ron and Hermione die in such a terrible way a few minutes after they finally confess their feelings (they were scared). 😭😭😭😭😭😭

- Snape is so dramatic. Girl "you're giving up your kingdom for Albus... All it takes is one person." he made it sound like they're in a romance fantasy novel (they are).

- Head empty. Scorpius happiest memory with Albus is strong enough for him to produce a patronus.

- Scorpius is once, again, a cutie pie that deserves everything.

- Delphi is more manipulative than I realized when I first read this lmao.

- GIRL the way Albus said that he and Scorpius ran away to start a new life in the muggle world as an excuse — what do you mean you're eloping at 14??? (Out of chronological order but I just remembered this)

- Never thought I'd be rooting for Draco and Harry duo yet here we are (did I say I love Draco as a dad?? I don't think he's appreciated enough. He's a brilliant dad! THIS is his best redemption arc).

- "What did you say to our son, Harry?" GO OFF QUEEN (Albus is a confirmed mommy boy)

- RON WANT TO MARRY HERMIONE AGAIN. I don't quite ship them in the book/movie but they're just the sweetest in here 😩😩

- I just had the sudden realisation that Scorbus might be the only couple that I ship in hp that is so close to canon (and was canonised by some play if I heard correctly).

- that time where they were in godric hollow and Scorpius was surprised that Albus never knew the full story of his grandparents or visited the place just bc he was being a petty, moody uninterested teenager hit so hard (he is me and I am him). And the shame he felt was real too. I always regret those years in my life where I acted like that and I don't even have a daddy issue like Al did, what's my bloody excuse lmao (I blame fucking hormones) 😩😭

- okay so finished it!! When I was a kid I don't quite like the time travel thingy and find it very confusing but I think it's because it's a screenplay yk, and it was meant to be watched not read. But the novel version did help a lot (and I give the author my hundreds of gratitude, her writing is absolutely beautiful! And she captured the characters perfectly! If you're scared to read The Cursed Child, read her novel version in ao3!!!).

I'm surprised that I actually love the plot more than I thought I would. Yeah it can get a bit unrealistic at times but all in all it's very entertaining and Albus and Scorpius are very well written, very rounded and nuanced characters that carry the book. I'm glad their parents didn't overshadow their personality etc (like them being mini-copies of Harry and Draco). They're their own person and I love that about them!!

They're not Drarry or even Jegulus as I've seen people say, they're in their own league. There are no enemies or hatred or tension between them; Scorpius and Albus genuinely like each other so much from the first they laid their eyes on each other and I adore them for it.

I read a theory that Albus was sent in Slytherin because he subconsciously wanted to be in a house with this kind boy met on the train and it made me want to cry (they were made for each other). (Although I do think Albus have many Slytherin traits, Scorpius I was less sure he screamed Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw to me but admittedly he can be cunning to).

So yeah, I don't think it's that bad as everyone said (and my 11 y/o self). It's fun and I actually cried a lot at the end of it (I have to watch Jily die, do you have any idea what that did to me???) (I don't even ship them but i swear this book set me to default back to canon).

I really want to watch the play, would die for it but it's impossible and I can only dream.xoxo
