Why is the new Iliad Musical called Ilium? Well, I’m glad you asked!!

Ilium is another name to refer to the city of Troy! (Home of the Trojan War!)

The city has had many names and many iterations of its name, from the more ancient Troia and Ilion (using the English alphabet here, I know in Greek the letters are different), to the Latin names of Troia and Ilium (<- which is the one Jay chose to use!!). (Also some cool Turkish names for the city like Hisarlik!)

Now how do you pronounce Ilium?

I-Lee-Um! Or Il-ee-um!

Do I know for a fact that’s how Jorge will pronounce it? Nope! But my best bet is that is how it will be pronounced in his musical!
