women online: feminism is not about hating men, it’s about equality for everyone😌 what do you mean you don’t read books by men, listen to male artists and don’t have male friends? that’s not feminist, that’s men hating😒 because of women like you feminism has a bad reputation! men would support feminism if it wasn’t for you!
men online: damn why is it getting harder to find real rape videos to jack off….all the rape on phub looks too fake and doesnt make me hard anymore…..

small in the grand scheme of things but i do not like how so many of women's rights gains are described with terms like "allowed". oh women are allowed to vote now, as if men just became thoughtful and generous one day and decided to benevolently allow us our rights out of the goodness of their hearts.
no!! men did not allow us anything! they stole our rights from us and women fought hard to win them back! they deny us our rights even now! we must fight to keep them or men will take them away again at the first opportunity! many men hem publicly admit to wanting to do so!!
this language implies women's liberation as something our foremothers simply waited around for until men graciously allowed it, it negates the effort and risks they took fighting for it and subtly suggests that if we only wait long enough, we'll be "allowed" other rights too. as if we needed their permission. the constant description of women's rights in this passive language, reveals that most have no idea what it took to win the rights some of us now enjoy and that there is an unconscious assumption that yes, one day, men or some other higher power woke up and simply "allowed" it. not the fault of women of course, men keep the knowledge from us by sanitizing the history books.
it is such a small difference in language, but i know you know the importance of accurate language. men never allowed us shit.

it’s so fucked up when you see something you KNOW is a portal to somewhere but you can’t figure out how to activate it. this is the most frustrating feeling that plagues modern man.

Just thinking about being a 9 yr old kid and hearing for the first time, in response to being called a bitch, "Well... bitch is a female dog, dogs bark, bark is on trees, trees are in nature and nature is beautiful, so thank you very much 😌🥰" and, two things:
1. Not one of us girls stopped to think why the boys (because it was, indeed, always the boys) were calling us "female dogs" as an insult in the first place, or wondered where they'd got it from.
And,
2. Who would've guessed that the generation that grew up being taught through a playground quip to do insane mental gymnastics convincing themselves "bitch" was a compliment (or, at worse, something you just brushed off with a smile), would end up... thinking bitch was a compliment or something to be brushed off with a smile.
Like, I used the quip once or twice. It never felt good, I can tell you that; and the boys knew that. Whatever word they'd discovered was cruel in ways none of us really understood, but we all implicitly felt. And we all implicitly knew you couldn't call a boy that. It has always been a gendered term. And the peer socialisation starts real young!!!!! I mean, this was like 2014 when I was in primary school and getting called a bitch by the boys I'd grown up with and loved!!! Why? Nobody knew, but we girls knew the boys loved it and ran away giggling to their mates.
And now we're several years into uni and have jobs and the (now adult) women I grew up with are calling themselves "bimbos" and "sluts" and "just a girl!" and still calling themselves and other women bitches. And all the men are shallow misogynists at worse and passable misogynists at best. It's just like... what has happened to my community? Why are we totally fractured and hurt and making utter fools of ourselves?
And then men come in with, "But it's gender neutral, I call my buddies a bitch when they're being annoying!" and it's like oh dear! The poor lads are being compared to the weakness of a woman! Oh lordy lord, how will we ever compensate them 💔 Surely, this means that the women are being bitches too sensitive about it and we can all go around likening people to weak female dogs used for breeding with zero introspection!! Oh, Chad, darling, how you've enlightened me!! 💋
And then, away from all the playground nonsense, it is used as a slur. It is spat at women in the same tone as cunt, or whore, or witch, or dyke, or slut, or any number of words devised across centuries to humiliate women. It's used to discredit women, to put them down, and it's the last thing too many women hear when they die at the hands of men. But nobody bats an eye because they literally hear it 24/7. By het men, by gay men, by movies and TV whether the media is "empowering" or not, and sadly, from other women, also whether they're "reclaiming" it or not.
It just pisses me off‼️ It's so normalised that people are totally blind to it, still slinging it like babies who've just learned what shit is!!! You hate women, WAKE UP!!!!
