so I've um . been rewatching tpot as of late. and I've adopted a new son

genuinely . Lightning is the true underdog of bfb-tpot. I rarely (if ever) see fanart of him and it's a shame, because he's actually great in the show!! ramblings below the cut vvvvvvv

in bfb, Lightning is a bit reckless and doesn't quite realise just how much power he has, and in tpot he joins dpa to try to learn how to control himself ("prevent death") and change for the better... but his OWN TEAMMATES still don't believe in him, they're scared of the power he holds even though he never means to use it!! he doesn't want to be dangerous!!! they PROMISE to teach him not to kill others and help him be who he actually wants to be (a silly little goober guy who does no harm of course), but instead they keep treating him like a lost cause, like he's "too dangerous" and therefore useless to them!!! as if he'd never be able to fit in with them, however hard he tries!!! my boy just wanted to feel useful, needed; and he instead got pushed away AND ELIMINATED TOO EARLY 😭😭😭 I LOVE YOU LIGHTNING YOU DESERVED WAY BETTER
