SVU ADA Alex Cabot and Chef Casey Novak (calex au)

Casey works as a chef for a high-end catering service and also has her own tiktok account where she posts recipes twice a month. Sometimes, she shares recipes for pets, often having her cat Ponyo enjoying the treats in the end of the vidoes. Alex follows Casey’s tiktok because she always tries to make Casey’s pet treats for her own very spoiled moggie cat, Percy. But it’s been a couple of months since Casey last posted anything and four months since her last pet treat recipe. So, Alex left a comment on Casey’s last postedvideo, asking if she could come back with another pet recipe because Percy was getting bored of the same treats she kept making him.

A few weeks later, Casey posted a new video where she said the recipe is for her very loyal and impatient follewer Percy. In the video, she was in a new place and explained that she had moved to new york after getting a really good job offer there, which also explained her long hiatus. When Alex watched it she was just so happy to have a new recipe to try out for Percy (percy's treats are pretty much the only things alex can make from scratch). Since then, Casey’s been posting more regularly, and once a month, she always includes a recipe that she thinks "Percy would like" and that never fails to put a smile on Alex’s face.

calex prompt: private chef casey and client alex

casey is almost in her second year of suspension and she’s currently keeping herself busy working as a private chef(casey, i believe, loves to cook and is actually really good at it. she was professionally trained.. she went to cooking clases every free time she got back when she was still working as an ada. it had been months since her last client ( casey has a strict three-month rule and doesn’t do extensions or renewals) until a new client, a judge from DC booked her to be a live-in personal chef for his dear niece lexie in new york.

casey has been everywhere except new york for a while, and she wasn’t really planning to go back anytime soon, but she gets an offer she rly cant ignore from a judge in DC for his favorite niece "lexie" in neww york..it's triple her usual rate. casey already has savings, but still, it’s a lot of money. plus, she won’t have to pay for a few of her regular bills since she’ll be staying in. so she said yes.. the money is just too good to pass.. and then, to her surprise, she was told later on that her client’s niece is none other than alex cabot. by then, everything was settled and she couldn’t back out.

alex, on the other hand, had no idea any of this was happening. she just got a call from her uncle bill, telling her he hired a personal chef who would cook for her 24/7. he said he was worried about her not eating on time or skipping meals completely when she got too busy with work. alex cant argue with him

wen casey showed up at alex’s place to start working, alex was completely shocked to find casey standing at her door. casey is already here and they had to live together in alex’s apartment for three months. so they try to co-exist with esch other.. there were a lot of adjustments, awkwardnes (this is alex cabot and "doesnt get out much" casey novak tge awkwardness is painful), tension, and pinning ...mostly from alex at first, and then, slowly later on.. from casey too.

alex started coming home early just to watch casey cook (more like to spend more time with her). there was something about seeing casey in the kitchen, focused and graceful..commanding, that alex couldn’t stop watching. it didn’t help that casey looked insanely attractive in just about anything. alex loved grocery runs with her, too. they tried not to talk about work at first, but eventually, casey opened up about what happened and why she made the choices she did. alex understood her completely.

alex also started plotting how to keep casey around. she eventually convinced her to extend her stay, arguing that technically, casey was hired by alex’s uncle, not alex herself, so a second three-month run would count as a new contract under a new client (alex). it worked. casey agreed. she stayed becuz casey wanted to be with alex too..just for a little bit longer ...

But alex wasnt doing this to keep a personal chef... she just wanted to keep casey. be with casey..she had gotten used to casey... she loved being around her. she loved who she was when she was with casey. the thought of going home without her felt awful and she dreads it. alexbecame impossibly soft when it came to casey. she liked spoiling her. and casey was still getting used to that .used to alex giving her flowers every single day, or how alex once left a bottle of perfume on the dining table after learning that casey was a fraghead (yes i believe casey loves to smell good and spends actually quite a lot on expensive perfumes).. alex had apparently spent days testing perfumes and chose one she thought casey would love.

they started discovering things about each other. things they had never told anyone else. like how alex was obsessed with sea creatures as a kid, especially stingrays. casey got them tickets to the aquarium and alex loved it too much. or how alex used to love reading fiction when she was younger, but her parents told her to grow out of it. casey gifted her a full set of harry potter books and alex devoured them..love them.. she even made a reading list based on casey’s favorites. alex realized how casey seemed good at everything and how she was the complete opposite of her and how she loved that about her. she also learned that the only sport casey ever really cared about was baseball alex finds it very endearing.. alex finfd everthing abount casey endearing.

they went on a lot of “not dates” (alex wanted them to be real ones so so bad) longs walks, out if town trips, movies (alex enjoyed it too much just casey next to her and would sometimes lean and whisper things about the movie they are watching but all alex could focus on was caseys scent and how she wanted to kiss casey), museum visits, they booked a tourist sight seeing once in new york and they had too much fun (that night alex was going crazy alone in her bedroom thinking of ways on how she could not lose casey and also thinking if it is wise to confess to cssey).. months passed and they were just too domestic (casey is no way just alex personal chef) alex spends most of her time with casey and its still not enough for alex really.. they took care of each other. alex would wake up thinking about casey’s soft good mornings and fall asleep to her soft goodnights. she started losing her mind at the thought of not having that anymore. she wanted casey so, so badly. more than she’d ever wanted anything or anyone. and casey wanted her just as much abdshe just didn’t think alex could ever see her that way.

they’re just 2 ppl stupidly in love with each other... just very light angst. a whole lots of longing. just two people who want to love and be loved in return.

casey would break her no extensions and renewal rule for alex.. it would take a year for alex to confess and then a few months later alex would ask casey's hand for marrriage (becuz its so right and alex knows they are it for each other) and casey woukd say yes and then alex would convince casey to get married a day after the proposal (alex have to marry casey right away). They had uncle bill officiate the wedding in alex brownstone (casey wanted the wedding there becuz its where everything happened).. they only have langan as the witness (a favor from alex ).. no one in svu knew about casey and alex (except liv but she was not too happy about it when alex told her when she started to officially date casey adnd and casey realky doesnt want anyone there to know about them yet).

casey would come back to svu after her suspension.. she would handle cases there for a couple of years until she and alex decided to have kids. Both would later on move out of new york wanting to grow their family out of the city.. they would both later on accept teaching positions near their home.. they just live happily ever after..

i watched gordon ramsey behind bars this morning so thats where i got the idea for this prompt

CALEX AND A POLYGRAPH

just thot of a calex scenario where casey returns to svu as one of the permanent adas, alongside barba, with alex as their bureau chief.

like iit would be a slow day at the precinct, and the squad like decides to kill time by messing around with the lie detector that is still in the interoggating room and everyone was too happy huang knows how to manage and read the polygraph..no need for them to drag in anyone else .. eventually, they would agrree that alex should be the one to sit for it, and casey and barba would be too happy about it.

but heres the thing..ever since casey and alex had returned to svu years ago, alex had been a pain in casey’s ass. years of her and alex constantly not seeing eye to eye. they argue over every case, always clashing on how things should be handled. alex is especially particular about casey following her directives exactly when it comes to handling cases.casey actlly admired alex as an attorney, but god, did she have a stick up her ass when it came to her personality. so... naturally, casey was more than a little eager to see her squirm under some well-aimed questions... her and barba are like besties now (like they go out to eat and talk about how they cant stand how alex could be too political at work)

alex would huff all thru it, would mutter about how childish they were all being. but would play along (after alot of taunting and egging from casey and barba) and would immediately regret it after the very first question. barba woould lead it and after the test questions he would ask alex if she thinks casey is pretty? ...alex’s brain would run a mile a minute trying to decide how to answer. but would stay cool and would look him in the eye just to prove it did not get to her, and would say, “very.”

ofcouurse the machinewould confirm it true, and their would be whispers and oohsss. casey would look way too smug about it, and barba never one to miss a moment to piss alex would say something like that face of hers has gotten her out in so many troubles. like barba would then raised his brow suggestively at alex... like girl could u not just say a simple yes?

alex would be so done with it and would want to end it already just after one question.. but everyone would just say how alex is a spoilsport and should do a few more qiestions even olivia was on it.. alex saying she wont … then benson and stabler would say they would no longer bother alex at midnight or early morning to get them a warrant and they would bother barba instead for 6 months if alex would seat around for a few more questons..

also here’s another thing ... alex has been pining over casey for years, ever since casey returned. not everyone has a hunch about it, maybe just huang, because he would know. but alex knows she’s never really shown it or let herself slip in a way that would reveal she might have feelings for casey. so she thinks she's safe..

of course the next question would be still from barba becuz of course barba would ask the juiciest bits his next question would be like who alex thinks is the most good-looking at work. alex would be all so done with it but she wants to be all cool about it but she doest really want to have a lie result so she would begrudgingly say casey novak. and casey will be all too proud and say how alex could talk about how terrible casey handles her cases but can’t lie about finding her pretty. alex would absoultely hate everything about all of this messy past time they got going on and would try to escape but everyone would just taunt her back to stay on that damn seat.

the next question will come from barba once again, asking if alex likes being a top or a bottom (all barba wants to see is how far he could throw off alex with his questions)... of course a lot of hooting will come from casey becuz its fun to see your pain in the ass boss all squirmy.. but alex being alex and not one to lose would like confidently say top while smirking and staring at casey. casey will roll her eyes, thinking why would alex even aim it at her.

i have like a lot of things to add here but this would be it for now. sorry for any errors i have not proofread this i just want it out of my head...

i need time to twice crime scene s3 to be inspired by svu characters!

i just rewatched TTT crime scene s2 and now i think it would be fun if they just do a crime scene season where they do not have to figure out who the killer is as a task and just them acting out some characters with some fun crime solving plot..

Like Jeongyeon is just so Olivia Benson. Jihyo could be stabler or carisi (more on carisi)... munch could be played by dahyun and fin by chaeyoung (or jihyo actually).. mina would def be alex cabot like she would ate being alex! casey my beloved, the funniest character for me in the show would have to played by nayeon! now it's so obvs huang could be given to tzuyu but i feel like chaeyoung is more like him while tzuyu could be warner idk.. momo and sana could play brian..

I just miss twice. i also miss casey. i wish one of twice's gay managers would dream this and suggest this for their next ttt..

this is my first calex HC.. i do apologize if this is all over the place. i just really want to get this out of my system.

so, casey is a vampire but not really the typical type of vampire on media..

sets around alex second year in svu

casey is absolutely not the brooding-i-will-watchoveryou-protectyou type of vampire.. she is actually a high maintenance vampire

basically vampires just keeps it lowkey, like they really try to live like the regular humans

they also actually grow old and they just go thru some ritual that just makes them go back to their younger selves (age when they were turned).. the whole process (them going thru a very deep long sleep) would actually go over decades before they wake up to live another new life

they have their little vampire family (just random vampires finding family with each other.. with casey she got a military dad, a gardener mom, a physicist and then a journalist brother.. they like to stick with to one professional field.. except casey of course.. she had lived a life of a circus performer, zoo keeper, banker, etc)

vampires here do need blood intake but mainly they just need food that got a lot of iron in them just works for them too.. yes they cook what they mostly eat

of course they have vampire hospitals.. usually where they go for their scheduled dose of blood or during any emergencies (which usually requires blood)..

they don't straight out drink the bloods they actually got it on iv drips.

they usually need their blood fix when they are extremely tired or their bodies giving up due to exhaustion (something that happens a whole lot with the hardworking casey), or they are physically hurt..

so yeah no fangs, no enhanced senses.. no accelerated healing unless they just got their blood fix of the month and they got a papercut so yeah that right away heals.. or they got their blood fix right away after a major injury.. so yeah vampires are lousy, no super strenghts and they are actually very sensitive..

aside from blood they also need a whole lot of sleep and rest to energize them (something casey always fails to do hence she always get herself a trip to the vampire hospital) .

also they dont get burned when exxposed to sunlight.. they actually bask on it becuz they feel cold all the time. tho if they dont have their monthly blood fix their eyes gets too sensitive for sunlight (nothing a good pair of dark shades could fix like in casey's case.. blood is too expensive for her ada salary.. add to that she is also overworked so her 2 pairs of good dark shades works just fine in the morning).

they also have very sensitive skin like they get too uncomfortable with bad quality materials like it's 100x worse for them..

they have a heartbeat.. alright so like they died and when they were turned, automatically their hearts starts beating again or more like rebooted and no longer functions for the human body.. and their heartbeats are very slow and faint.

they could also see their selves in a mirror.. they love mirrors actually.. one thing about vampires is that their beauty is extra amped up (casey do make use of her physical asset, especially that beautiful face of hers aside from annoying ppl to give her what she wants)

they also find human horniness terrible becuz they could go on many rounds for sex while vamps could go on rounds like that too.. it's just their energy gets spent too much for such activity they like need 3 bags of blood to fully recover (casey avoids it and is too happy to please herself instead of getting overpriced blood after.. until she started dating alex where money is never a problem)

also they could not turn another human into a vampire.. these vampires are actually a result of those evil doctors that partnered with witches a long long time ago (they were later killed by vampires themselves).

i will be updating this maybe.. since basically this is just a list of the type of vampire casey is. so yeah i will be working on the whole calex thing of it.. any thots tho? hehehe it's just i have been thinking about this for a few days now. i also would really like to write a calex fic if i have time like a have tons of calex ideas on my phone.. i have loved all of the hc's i've read here and this one is my contribution to the calex fandom.
