Masuda Toshiki Birthday Event 2013
Hello ^^ I promised I would write a report for this. Even so I don’t actually know how to start - or were to start. A short explanation of my condition yesterday morning was: a great lack of sleep because two girls in our dorm had to be extremely noisy. That’s why I had 3 hours of sleep… maybe 4 but then it’s much. However, I got up half past six and I had only time to get dressed and eat and stuff and had to catch my train for Shinjuku and then change trains for Sendagaya. I slept aaaall the way to Shinjuku yey. The train ride lasted from 7:51~9:05 am.
At the train station I met up with a twitter contact and her twitter contact and so the ‘hey who are you?’ conversations started and I found out that at least the twitter contact I knew before came all her way from Aichi prefecture. It was pretty easy to find the Nihon Seinenkan… I am always too worried to find things because… I’m very good at getting lost. But seriously it never happens in Tokyo… Why ever :O To find the 中ホール in the Seinenkan was a tiny bit more difficult but we arrived maybe 9:30 am - so a lot of time before the goods sale was opened at 11:15 am. But here look, the event was called “Birthday Night” already

While we waited, we talked of course a lot and my twitter contact Min. and her friend were working on a scetch book full with messages for our beloved child of the day. I drew him a little Kamishiro Ryouga in advance and wrote to small extra messages and put on two purikura. Unexpectedly the radio personality Washisaki Takeshi who worked a little bit with Massu when he still was in 2h came out of the building and everyone was like:
But only two of us (hahaha) dared to run after him and talk to him. Err yes weeeeell :3 The goods sale started and I bought the DVD “Hatachi no echuudo” which was in 2011 if I remember right - instead of a Birthday Event he did the stage as last action as a 20 years old. And I bought the black T-shirt. Never mind me but I hate pink, so I there was no alternative xD’’

Universal Music sent Massu flowers <3 Something we really liked to see. Btw. I really liked the fact that all the Japanese fans who gathered yesterday just didn’t ask if I am okay with Japanese, but just came by and started talking to me. Of course they’d always ask where I am from and so on, but that they were not excluding me because they thought that they could not communicate with me. I often hear that from other abroad students that they find it hard to make Japanese friends. I have to say that I never had this problem. One thing which pretty surprised me was a really lively girl who came from the Kansai region. When we went home (well, don’t worry I will write about the event itself too, of course, but if I write the uninteresting things now, I won’t jump so much within themes) if I was a half. I was confused. I don’t look Asian at all. My hair is not really dark, my eyes are blue and I have unfortunately nothing in common with Asians but well xD I explained my situation to her and wondered why she thought I was a half and she answered very seriously: “Because your Japanese is flawless.”
Okay, next on the noon performance started at 1:00 pm. Here’s a tiny pic from the stage when I searched for my seat:

I was not that far in the back, but I wasn’t too much in the front either the first time. It was pretty cool because they played MaxBoy’s album, the Tsukiuta and the Marginal 4 songs before the event started. Then the lights went off in the hall and only the stage was enlightened. Suzuki Yuuto announced the event and explained the usual things such as no filming, no picture taking and if there would accur huge earth quakes the show had to be canceled etc. He was so cute! Really! Even if we just heard his voice it was so… aaah! Washisaki Takeshi was doing the part as “Talk Master” and hey, he was pretty funny but we all know his style from his weekly show 2h, right? He was teasing Massu a little bit too. So Massu talked about his work as Seiyuu so far. One of my favourite parts was when Massu explained how he was recording for Kannou Mukashibanashi. He told us, that there’s usually a dummy, so the seiyuu would have a feeling for a person who sits there and it would be easier to imagine that one is speaking to a girl. Massu said, that he is pretty fine with the dummy alone, but when the other team members come in, he’s the pretty nervouse one. Washisaki then suggested that he would be the dummy and Massu should demonstrate how he did the work. So Massu gave the lines from Mukashibanashi 7 as minarai Annainin and used is beautiful, dark porn-voice and Washisaki was…kind of crept out. Massu’s best comment at that moment: “I was embarrassed myself, but I am not that perverted, really!" Massu talked quite a lot about Yu-Gi-Oh! ZeXal of course and the second guest came along: Hatanaka Tasuku. The Seiyuu who voices Tsukumo Yuuma in ZeXal. His first word was: "KATTOBINGU!!” Yeah… Yuuma, you’re lovely! They had a lot of fun and they seemed to be pretty good friends. Well, Massu actually confirmed that his bonds with Tasuku are rather those of brothers. Tasuku said that he admires Massu very much as Seiyuu and Senpai. And hey, Tasuku wore the pink T-shirt xD He was so cute! Also, Massu confirmed that he will have jobs in the future. After Universal Music announced the disbanding of MaxBoys, people in and outside Japan were a little bit worried if he would get enough jobs. But yes, he will! So everyone was relieved by hearing that. So, another funny part was of course the video messages from other seiyuu who had worked with Massu so far. In the noon performance Ono Daisuke, Morikubou Shoutarou and Suzuki Kenichi gave their congrats and comments to Masuda. Well… everyone used this line: “You are 23 years old now? Wow… you’re so young! You still have a long bright future!” And everyone was praising Masuda for being very serious at work, but also someone who is pretty easy to be friends with and a good colleague.I remember Ono Daisuke stating that he wants to go to eat Raamen with Massu as well as Morikubou would like to go to drink with him. It seems that Massu is the person who drinks only a little bit when he’s out with his colleagues. Suzuki’s message was very cute too, he said that, when he was 23 years old he was still part time working and not very serious about things xD At the end, Masuda and Washisaki were singing songs… or mainly Washisaki was singing, because Massu had not the right… will to do so. Actually he confessed that he’s not so good with singing in front of people. Even so he sings like a God, he does not like it that much because he thinks he’s not that good. Baka… Well, this is pretty much the main point of the event. Of course we were laughing a lot while Massu and Tasuku joked about their work etc. But the EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!? echoed through the stage when Washisaki announced: “Masuda is waiting outside and will have a high touch!” The hall:
And disciplined how I was… I took my backpack properly. I thought of what to say “happy birthday, Massu, I love you”. Pretty sure how to say that. Yes! I will go and do this! And I can do this! Yes! I went through the Exit. He was there waiting. And gave reached out his hand and smiled soo….heavenly omg wtf can handle this smile omg…I HAVE FORGOT ALL MY JAPANESE AND WENT ALL RED IN MY FACE AND OMFG NO WHAT ARE MY FEELINGS DOING!? He was kind of bowing down a little bit because hell fuck he is SOOOO TALL! and I am soooo small….so… yeah oh *blush* And he said sad “Thank you for coming." I hightouched this big beautiful hand (I’m afraid I have a hand-fetish?) and was kind of… too high because omfg feels and just
out of the hall waiting for my friends to come out. I was still in shock because I couldn’t really prepare myself in advance. And I was so embarrassed because my Japanese level went down to zero and argh… Well, but then we went to Family Mart to buy a little to eat before the evening performance started. Before we could go back to the hall there was a big demo against nuclear energy but well… We managed to get back, I’ve got my evening ticked and got a seat like… pretty near the front lalala. The evening show. Halleluja…! It was opened by Suzuki Yuuto as well and the reading aloud session started. The first Masuda read was the fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood” together with Hayami-san from S.S.D.S (only from CD I guess because Hayami was on another event yesterday). Massu did Little Red Riding Hood, the mom, the granny and the hunter…. Hayami the wolf. And Massu did it in the same stile as Kannou Mukashibanashi. So everyone was so silent and enjoying Masuda’s calm, strong voice. Or his funny one as grandma and the female characters. Washisaki just loved to tease Massu that he’s performing the female roles and that he should do that more often xD I laughed so hard xD Massu then explained that Hayami was tutoring him in reading aloud. Things like Kannou for example. That he has to be careful on the words to create a world and well, Masuda taught us too in a funny way, but every word was true, really. Then another video message from Hayami on the screen. Well, everyone seems to find Massu so extremely young xD I think it’s so nice that all of Massu’s colleagues so far loved to work with him. Things like these make me especially happy. The second story was a Japanese short story. I have forgotten its name because I was too much into the story to care about titles. Really… that one was a master piece, I wished they had recorded it. It was a pretty sad story and Masuda’s voice went from super exited to extremely sad in like one second to the other. For a bit I thought he was really crying, but he wasn’t. It just was so awesome that his voice is changing so much but is always so good to listen to. Washisaki and Massu talked a little bit again. About the usual work and how he gets along with Senpais at work. It was pretty funny because Massu said that the seiyuu he worked the most with was (besides Hosoyan) Hirakawa Daisuke and he said that he finds him very nice and friendly and he would never hesitate to ask him about anything. Washisaki: “You say Niisan to Hosoya-san, right? What about Hirakawa Daisuke-san? Would you call him Daisuke-Niichan?” Massu *in shock*: “What!? No! I-I couldn’t! He is… no that feels wrong!” Washisaki: “You should try that. I will play Hirakawa-san coming to work.” *swags over the stage* “Masuda-kun ohayou.” Massu *bows deeply*: “Ohayou gozaimasu, Hiraka-…” Both: *laughing like hell as well as the guests* Massu: “I told you it’s impossible.” Washisaki: “Let’s try once more.” *swags the stage once more* “Masuda-kun ohayou.” Massu: *bows deep* “Ohayou gozaimasu Daisuki Oniichan.” *embarrassed laughter* Yes Massu, we love you to, don’t worry. But that part was so hilarious. Speaking of Hirakawa Daisuke, the next video message was his and it was… so … LOL! Hirakawa: “You’re 23 years old now? Wow… when I was 23… ah I wasn’t experienced at all. But you know, you remind me of a Goldenredriver. Really. Normally dogs are so happy and outgoing to other people, they don’t care, they are just happy. But goldenredrivers they are reading the air and check their people before they are going anything! And so are you. Always that serious face, bowing deep and saying: "Masuda Toshiki to moushimasu.” You’re a good boy, Masuda-kun.“ And everyone was like:
Yes you aaaaare, Massu! And then the last video message from Hosoya Yoshimasa!! And it was the longest message of them!! And it was such a cute message really!! Argh… when he appeared on the screen the WHOLE hall was like: KYAAAAAH
And really… for a moment I thought there was a somekind of terrorist threatening the entire hall by THAT screaming omg. But I was so touched too oh hell… His message contained Massu’s horoscope reading. And it was awesome funny, well, Hosoya then told that Massu did the same for Hosoya’s birthday and when he read "people born on this date like themselves pretty much”, Masuda got it kind of wrong and stated: “Niisan is a narcissist.” So he joked around that a little bit and said: “Yeah, maybe I am a little narcissist. But Damasu! Never change. You are so young, when I was 23… I had my unlucky year (Yakudoshi) and things weren’t going well. But you have a bright future so do your best!” And I almost cried of happiness. I felt so happy for him. Well as a good “ending”, Massu told those who weren’t attending the noon performance, that Hatanaka Tasuku was on stage before and now sitting in amoung the audience. Again, everyone went just “WTF” and turned around and a pretty shy Tasuku left his seat to go on stage again and they started to talk about their great friendship and their work on ZeXal again. Tasuku: “Oh well, Masuda-kun, how about changing roles. You as Yuuma?” Massu: “What!? NO that’s not possible. *turns Shark-voice on* I’m Shark, Shark!" Tasuku: "But that would be quite funny right.” Massu: “Stop joking, how’s that supposed to be? Kattobingu daa” *does it ridiculously funny* Really, it was so much fun and everyone had fun and… argh it was awesome. Like before, there was a hightouch too and the audiance was shocked again… the people who attended the noon performance less shocked as before but again… I prepared and well. This time it went much better to see Masuda and these pretty wide masculine shoulders prettier as on the screen and argh his hands omg what kind of hands are these, I am serious! My hands were covered by his or mine are just too tiny… wargh. Okay, but my Japanese didn’t disappear completely and I could actually TALK to him and he smiled his usual cutey smile which we all love so much and I was so moved by everything that night I just can’t handle so many feels at once! My summary for the Masuda Toshiki Birthday Event 2013:
And I think my room mate found me mental dead yesterday night.
