I named the cat Wisp! I decided upon it during one of my many sleepless nights. I think it’s quite fitting for her, not to mention it’s very cute. She likes to ride around on my shoulders too! Her claws easily pierce the fabric of my dresses though, I hope none of them get ruined.
It’s the weekend so I don't have work for the next two days! I decided to use this first day to explore one of the paths on my property. all of them seemingly lead out into the woods. After much deliberation, so a nice cup of tea later, I decided on the east path towards the back of the property.
In preparation for the cold, I wore a nice dusty red wool long sleeve dress, my cardigan, red scarf, gloves, and the brown leather boots I always wear. I hope the forest spirits appreciate my outfit, its nice and cozy.
Anyway, Wisp insisted on coming along, and rode on my shoulders as I left for the east path. It looked well worn, the dense foliage almost creating a tunnel for me to walk through. The walk wasn't as long as I’d hoped, which was kind of disappointing.
But there was, near the middle of the path, a small clearing off to the side! A colorful mosaic path led to a pond. Wisp jumped off me to sniff the flowers, while I admired the fish. It looked like there was a plaque at the bottom. Should I go back to check what it says?
Continuing past the pond, it turns out the East path leads to a graveyard! Well, a small one, and the church had rotted away. All I could see was the stone foundation. A tall wrought iron gate made up the entrance to the yard, off to the side of the church, and a fence surrounded the rest. Upon the gate sat the name “Thistle Grove” in big swirling letters. A fog seemed to blanket the whole area, like the place had its own aura.
When we approached the gate, a black dog greeted us. He was very stoic, leaning away when I tried to pet him and always keeping his distance. His tail didn’t even wag! I paid my respects to Death, as did Wisp, before we both entered. The black dog followed closely behind us the whole while, guarding the souls of those we walked upon. All of the head stones names were too weathered to read. I wonder who they were. I counted 23 graves in total, some didn’t even bear names, only seemingly the year of death. They're all with Death now, I would hope.
I couldn't’ve been in the graveyard for more than an hour and twenty minutes. I forgot to check the time before I left. None the less, still a good amount of time to spend in nature!
The rest of the day was spent listening to the radio, (Now, I know what you’re thinking, I don't know how I get a signal out here either), tidying around the house, and sewing. Apparently there's a unicorn infestation at the train station in town. I'm glad I'm not going there any time soon. unicorns are mean creatures.
Anyway, this day was good, and I hope for more good days to come. Maybe I should brave the basement tomorrow. I need to get laundry done.

One of those three eyed cats showed up on my front porch yesterday morning. She's pretty friendly. Should I keep her? She doesn't seem to want to go away. She slept in my room last night and everything! I'll go buy cat food tomorrow just in case :) What should I name her?
In other news, I explored, more thoroughly, the yard, and found a well. I wonder what's down there? I can't see the bottom, it's so dark. Strange. The air is fresh outside though! I've taken to reading out there in the yard, on the back porch. But sometimes I'll move to the bench in the garden. It's a nice stone bench, covered in moss. I steer clear of the well.
A wolf showed up earlier today, thinking I was her sister! I told her "no, I only have a wolf head. I'd need a whole wolf body to be blood related!" Anyway, she went on her way into the woods. She was very polite, and ate some cookies and tea. I wonder if she'll ever find her sister? Safe to say my neighbors are very friendly.
Still haven't gotten that dog, if you're wondering. They’re a lot of responsibility! I'll get a mutt if I do.

I moved into a house recently. It's Victorian and out in the middle of nowhere. Left to me by my aunt. It's pretty old and dusty. I'm lucky there's cell reception! Anyway, I made this account to, I guess, document my time here. A diary if you will! A diary of my new life. Here, in the woods, alone. I don't have friends :/
The house is fairly large, there are four floors. The basement, ground, 2nd story, and the attic. I've explored the ground and 2nd, but the basement looks scary, and I only took a peek into the attic. There were a lot of boxes from what i could see.
I didn't leave much behind when I moved in, and the house was left fully furnished, so move in day was easy! Everything fit into my car in one trip. It's crazy, thinking about it. I didn't even know this place existed, and now I'm here all because my aunt died. Completely left to me! it's exciting, really. Getting to leave the studio and come here.
I moved into one of the guest rooms, on the second floor. The master bedroom felt too big and eerie. I don't like being in it.
The house clearly hasn't been inhabited in a long time. I spent the week just sweeping and cleaning. The property is also overgrown with weeds and vines. I feel lucky the electricity and water work, and nothing is in major disrepair. The will stated someone would do monthly check-ins of the house. I wonder why my aunt never lived here. It's leagues better than her house.
It's been a week since I officially moved in, and am now writing this. I haven't had internet if you're wondering. I've been needing to go into town just to do my work! I'm an accountant, used to doing everything at home.
Anyway, I think I'll leave it at that for today. I should be starting dinner soon, and I'm thinking of getting a dog. It's scary out here in the woods alone.
