Lady of the sea (Melville x F!Reader)

"Mr. Melville!" You ran up to the older man, with that big smile that easily captured the hearts of everyone in Guild.

The man simply smiled at you, patiently waiting for you to begin another of your endearing ramblings about whatever you had encountered today. This was one of the things he liked most about you: your ability to be fascinated by everything around you. The plants, the animals, the people—everything seemed magical in your eyes, that still retained an innocent warmth despite the time you had been with Guild.

"I brought this for you!" You said excitedly, placing a small seashell in the man's hand.

"It's beautiful, thank you, my child" Herman said with a calm voice and a quiet smile, as he watched you run toward Hawthorne and Poe, probably to distribute small gifts from your trip to the city.

You were like the sea: resilient, beautiful, eternal in your mysteries and finite in your mortality. As he slipped the seashell into his pocket, Herman could only hope that you would continue like this many years after he left this world.

It shouldn't have been this way.

But then again, there were many things that shouldn't have turned out the way they did. Guild had fallen, Fitzgerald had lost, the others had scattered, Lovecraft had returned to the sea, and you…you were gone.

Dead long before your time, before his.

As he watched the floating remains of the Moby Dick, Herman couldn't help but clutch the seashell in his hand, remembering your final moments.

You had rushed into the room he was in as soon as the weretiger had left. You didn't ask questions, you didn't give speeches, you had simply taken his hand, pulling him towards you and holding him tightly. You had used your ability, one you were rarely allowed to use in Guild because it drained you quickly.

You covered both of you with a powerful shield, knowing you wouldn't be able to get out in time. Herman had tried, truly tried, to regain control of the Moby Dick, but there was too much of the machine and so little of his ability remained, it had been impossible.

You both felt the titan plummet into the ocean, and your only consolation was knowing that no innocent people would die. You felt the moment your ability began to fail. He felt the moment you decided to give your life for his.

As soon as the Moby Dick collapsed against the water, you used what remained of your power to push him out, toward the surface, into the air, into life, absorbing the entire weight of the ship yourself, sinking with it, into the abyss, into darkness, into death.

It shouldn't have been this way.

He shouldn't been on land, alive, not when you were dead, at the bottom of the sea. You should have been smiling, running free, laughing as you collected shells, not surrounded by them, far from his reach, in a silence nothing could break anymore. Though, for the older man, it was a comfort that you died at sea, the place you two loved so much.

You left like the Moby Dick, a siren returning home, and he, a sailor left adrift, on land but lost. He had heard your song, had been lost in the spell, and now, freed, he found himself wishing he had never woken up.

"I will search for you in the foam, I will hear you in the waves, I will see you in the tide, and when it is my time, I will find you at the bottom, my lady of the sea"

Ohhhh tricky question! I like a lot of my fics but if I have to choose, I'll say that from the one-shots, it'd be a tie between Devil likes pastel color and Not supposed to happen, because Wednesday and Maleficent are characters I love and for who I don't often have a chance to write, and their respective personalities made it harder to write something that could be nice but also respecting the character's nature, and I loved the results!

And from the longer fics, definitely Por amor al arte, I can't explain to you how much I loved writting that! From having to give dept to the movie characters, to plan how to make Julieta and R's relationship feel natural and not rushed, I loved it!

So yeah, that's my answer (I love these kind of questions, thank you hon!)

Okay, I need to tell someone what happened two days ago. Okay so I’m in California and two days ago we went to Disneyland. The only person I wanted to see was Mary Poppins. And like I REALLY wanted to see her like take time out of riding things to go see her okay?

So on the app it says her and Bert will be out at 12:25 so we head over there and 5 or so minutes went by and they still weren’t out.

Then we started talking to someone also sitting there who was also waiting for Mary Poppins and Bert and said they can be a few minutes late sometimes because they are human and the like.

Anyway! They come out and I walk up to them, shake Berts hand and get good luck and then they ask if I want to walk with them to a shady spot and who would I be if I said no so of course I said yes! It was like a minute or so walk and I talked to them and it was amazing. Then I showed Mary Poppins my nail I have with her initials and the umbrella (I forgot his name). And then we took a group photo and I put my arm around Mary because it would have been weird to keep my arm by my side and I’m still like flabbergasted two days later that i actually talked to them. And my sister walk talking to Bert a little and he asked if she wanted to hold his arm and she told me he now has another fan girl. 🤣

I can’t wait to go back. I’m definitely going to bring Mary Poppins and Bert something next time we go for sure. We are thinking of going again in 2028 so I’m excited!
