To summarise this has been an interesting project to work on. I have learnt about team working. We have tried to work to our strengths and our specialisms. Some of us have contributed more than others but this is expected when working as a group. We have been sympathetic to those that have not been able to attend but when it becomes a regular occurrence then it is not fair on those who are always there.
I learnt how to use Google docs, this is where we shared our research and ideas. We used Facebook messenger to communicate with one another. Some members of the group preferred to work remotely , especially when making the website and this was a new experience for me. We joined Steph through her screen broadcast as she was building the website. I would have preferred to have done this after the timetabled session so I could have learnt how to do it myself.
The research i did informed me about the VR and AR technologies that have been used by retailers some of which i was not aware of. I will continue some of this to inform my future research.

Presentation day
Looking forward to seeing everyones presentations. I hope everyone in the group will be on time as we are the first group to present. We haven’t done a practice run so i hope we keep within the time.

Notes ready.
I feel the presentation went well we just went over the time by a few seconds. We managed to answer all the questions from the panel. I think they liked our concept. Andrew asked if we would be interested in working with a scanning company called Sizestream. I am really looking forward to this.

Preparing the presentation
Arrived early for the practice run of the presentation so went and sat in the Mill Cafe and went through my notes, checking them to see if i had missed any information.
Went to the usual room for the scheduled time, rest of the group arrived apart from Beth and Steph. Helen had re- worked the presentation after the first practice run. It looked much better now with the visuals. Made notes on what changes and additions that needed to be made before the actual presentation.
Went to the library to make the changes with the rest of the group hoping to book a room to practice and finalise the presentation but none were available so went to the post graduate suite and helped Helen to finalise the presentation and allocated slides to everyone.

Also distributed the flash cards i had made for everyone to add notes to.

Debriefing and evaluation process.
Discussed the exhibition with Jo and the rest of the group apart from Beth who is not here again.
The manager at the Packhorse Centre is interested in our concept but was not able to come to the exhibition. He wanted us to send the information to him but Jo suggested that we arrange to meet him at the Packhorse Centre. Gabby who has been dealing with this will email him.
Jo went through the brief again to make sure we were addressing all the learning outcomes to prepare us for the final submission .

Arranged during the week on messenger with Evi and Gabby to meet me at the creative building before our 11am tutorial to go and get the logo printed.
Started making the dress whilst waiting but they did not arrive waited till 10.30am so made my way to the lockside building for the tutorial.
Discussed with Jo our intervention for yhe live event, no Beth again, she has said she will work from home on the app.
After the tutorial we sat in the Mill Cafe and discussed what we needed to get printed and who was going to do what. My Job is to complete the dress and bring my own mannequin to display it. Evi, Gabby and Jamie-Lee will go to the print bureau and find suitable papers for the posters and work out costs. Helen will create the leaflets and feedback sheets and ask her husband to create a prop to display the poster. Steph will work on the Website and the concept poster.

Day of the visit to go and see the body scanning technology at the University of Manchester.
Drove to Emma’s house in Huddersfield because we were car sharing together with Christina and Helena.
Dr Simeon Gill talked about his research which centred around sizing and creating the perfect fit. He gave us the opportunity to be part of his research. I was expecting the scanner to be like a Pod but it was more like a hospital cubicle with sensors.

I had to strip down to my underwear and then stand with my feet to either side of the blue box on the floor and hold the handle bars at the side. The scanner takes 6 seconds to take all your measurements. The computer prints out your measurements which can then be converted into basic blocks for pattern drafting. The system is 80% accurate.

Innovation week- 3 guest lectures from small businesses set up through the University. It was good to see their presentations and get ideas for what our presentation should look like. I think we need to add some colour to our logo, I will feed this back to the group seen as there is only Jamie-lee, Gabby and myself here today. After the lectures the three of us went to see the space for the exhibition and took some photographs and measurements. The space was not as big as I thought it would be.

Day of the formative presentation. Not happy with our presentation - there are no images and no time to do a practice run. I feel the group needs to stay after the session and work together rather than remotely.
The feedback below from Jo was spot on.
Need to work on the presentation over the next couple of weeks.

Kath Davies and Robin Widowson came and talked about more people engaging with the arts, they said the creative industry grew by 4% and 2300 businesses registered wiyh companies house.
Natalie and Alison from Hatch talked about small businesses and funding that is available.
After the talks we discussed the project, we decided each one of us would do a slide each for the presentation based on Phillip Clegg’s talk on an Elevated Pitch. We allocated tasks, mine was to look into alterations on the high street and to make a dress for the exhibition. I think we should have all stayed for an hour or two and worked on the presentation as a group seen as the presentation was the following week.

Debbie emailed to say she had arranged a date to go and see body scanning being done.

I sent a message to the group to see if anyone wanted to come along.

No one wanted to come so I will go and compile the research.
