I’ve been on a Steve Carell binge lately and I finally watched little miss sunshine and (lovingly) forced my partner to watch beautiful boy. He’s probably my favourite actor right now, absolutely in awe over his ability to switch between the most serious roles to the silliest ones.

Just finished brba for the third time but I’m thinking about Skyler White specifically.
Apart from the obvious misogyny from those breaking bad fans towards both Skyler and Anna Gunn, I don’t actually understand the whole ‘Skyler was just as bad as Walt!’ thing and it leaves for a much darker conversation about power and abuse.
I don’t believe many people who have watched the show truly understand how hard it is to walk away from active abuse let alone tell anyone, especially in her situation. She literally describes herself as a hostage when talking to him, but because he isn’t physically abusive people seem to brush past that?? Skyler as a character is very self aware and I feel for her so so much.
Realistically, what do you think would’ve happened to her and their family if she had confessed to anyone? It’s not as simple as ‘she could’ve saved innocent people’, she is a victim who was being controlled. Literally such a traumatic experience to go through.
