thinking about that post of people assuming ao3 has an algorithm and also about how bonkers persistent the view is that ao3 is social media lite. like with startling regularity I get comments saying something along the lines of "it's probably weird to comment on a fic this old--" no it isn't!!!! this is an archive I am literally just assuming you searched for a selection of specific tags or sorted by kudos or looked back on my pseud or any other number of completely normal ways to use an archive site ?? kill the tiktok ghost in your brain and comment on old stuff it's NOT weird

Genuine question for y'all ina11 fans out there but what's the general consensus on the newer art style use for areori and now victory road? Do you like it? Do you hate it? I'm personally not the biggest fan of it but I'm curious as to what others think
#i think there's an interesting evolution in ina11 art styles that had interesting pros and cons to every distinct series#the original had an amazing use of shapes and diversity and used an interesting color palette that was very soft#i'm particular to GO's art style because I love the color saturation and irreverence to standard design theory#there was a lot of diversity in eye shapes and colors as well as wild hair and skin diversity#i don't neccesarily HATE areori it had some interesting new design choices#especially in hair color gradarions and eyelashes#but the areori body stylization was much more noodly and lost a lot of character#it's especially noticeable with the OG characters#who really show how much they cut down on skintone diversity and often lost a lot of visual distinction#especially endou and gouenji came across as particularly flat compared to the older more dynamic style#whereas characters specifically made to suit the new style worked better in this style than they would in the old style#so its complicated i suppose#they surrendered a lot of vibrant dynamism for animation budget cutting and it shows
