It turns out that you can become the person you’ve always envisioned but you’ll still have the person you were before inside of you and you have to treat them with as much forgiveness and love as possible

You’re allowed to grieve the childhood you didn’t get. The safety you were denied. The peace you had to earn the hard way. Grief doesn’t have to mean that you're stuck. And it’s okay if it takes time to let go of something you never even got to have.

You do not talk too much. You do not expect too much. You do not care too much. You do not ask too many questions. You do not need too much attention. You are not too needy. You are not too much to handle. You are perfect the way you are. If people make you feel like you are too much, they are not worth your time, your effort or your love. You deserve better than that. Your heart and soul should be protected at all cost. You simply are not too much in any way, my love. Always remember that.

you think you're inflicting yourself upon the world like an injury when you're really just existing within it. you enter every room with the subconscious idea that you're the least valuable person there, when in truth you're just as capable as the next person and they're not inherently above you. you see your mistakes as unforgivable sins, when just like anyone else, you're allowed to move on from them. that step up (or away) from self-deprecation is not this grand amount of unshakeable self-love; it's neutrality. you don't have to believe that you're untouchable and amazing with 0 doubt: you have to recognise that you're not as terrible as you think you are.

The way to stop self-sabotaging is to remind yourself that you’re worth it—always. You’re worth the energy, the hard days, the time, and the care. There’s never been a moment, and there never will be, when you’re not enough. If you start to doubt it or lose your footing, come back to this truth. Keep it close and don’t let it fade.

two million people starving to death because it's geopolitically convenient and we're all expected to go about our day normally like the casual cruelty on display for the past two years has been so insane to me like i'm not even trying to make a point it's just truly something i can't wrap my mind around

Just to keep everyone here aware:
Shit's going down in Los Angeles area.
What happened is that there was already protests against the ICE detention facilities, and ICE made the brilliant move of kidnapping the leader of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). Protestors started pushing their non-violent actions, with ZERO weaponry, and ICE has begun firing teargas and rubber bullets (which can be fatal). Tonight they are bringing in the NATIONAL GUARD.
Meanwhile, they're stepping up kidnappings and "deportations"--If you dont have your papers and you live in southern california I'd avoid leaving your house. If you're a citizen, keep your papers on you as you leave.
And if you're one of the brave people fighting this gestapo, PLEASE DO SO SAFELY!!! Dont use milk to rinse out teargas or pepper spray, it can cause infections with the bacteria in it!!!! Use water!!!! Tell someone where you're going, but leave your phone at home unless you're there to document. If you are there to document, DONT SHARE PROTESTORS FACES OR IDENTIFYING FEATURES on social media!!!! And for fucks sake, WRITE A LAWYER PHONE NUMBER ON YOUR BODY WITH SHARPIE, trust me, it could save your ass.

at the time when anne frank was arrested, she was breaking the law. the people who helped hide her and other targets of the nazis were also breaking the law.
that is where it leads when you justify state violence. “if you didn’t want oppression you shouldn’t have broken the law” is an attitude that leads directly to fascism, and it rings entirely hollow from those who also support a leader that flagrantly violated the law but waived the consequences by virtue of power possession.

Trump has federalized 2,000 troops from the California National Guard in hopes of crushing anti-ICE protests
I don't really have much to say, other than this is a very grim moment and we just have to wait and see how it turns out
and if you're in the LA area, stay safe of course, but more important, stay strong fate has picked you guys to be the front line, wishing you the best.

ICE is in Los Angeles conducting raids and arresting families and children on their way to their court dates and raiding workplaces. Trump has called the National Guard in to stop protestors and is spreading a false narrative about violence, raiding, etc. to distract from the fact that ICE is abducting children in a SANCTUARY CITY.
Do not look away, do not be silent. If you or a loved one is detained by ICE, stay silent except to ask for your lawyer. Keep your documents on you. Call legal aid foundations who are standing by.
If you are NOT in LA and want to help, you can contact rapid response networks and ask how to help or donate. Donate to ACLU, the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund (MALDEF), or the Immigrant Defense Project.
Here are some slides with good tips to share and a list of SoCal rapid response networks:
DO NOT LOOK AWAY!
And as a not so gentle reminder, if you voted for Trump or his ilk you can unkindly get the fuck off my page. You're not welcome here.

I am proud of my heritage and the sacrifices as well as the hardships my family has gone through to be here for a better life.
I am a proud Mexican-American.
For those of you who still haven't spoken up, start doing so. It's us today, tomorrow it's you.
For those of you who don't think about politics, how nice for you.
If one group isn't safe- no one is.

Try living through it. I haven't had peace of sleep since December. Your have to map your day out. Don't go shopping anymore and I worry about all my older neighbors it's the worst feeling.
Can’t believe we’ve really gotten to this point. I’m genuinely so disappointed in this country and its people. I am so sorry, truly.
God bless you all and keep you safe every single day.
