i genuinely needed this after having a rough night of feeling invalid for liking these guys sm. i felt like absolute shit for not realizing i wasnt the only one who had a low day like this.

i honestly have decided to say this cuz idk what else im supposed to do about it. i honestly am teriffied that the internet's gonna turn on me one day.

i feel safe expressing my love for fictional old men on a daily basis when im at home (isolated in my room or home alone; depends on the situation), and i feel that way for a reason.

i feel like if someone outed me for that kind of shit, one of two things pop into my head. either...

one: it's okay. im fine!! i can make it!!!!!!

or two: YEP IM GONNA DIE.

the point is that im terrified about people i only know irl knowing that i like fictional old men (NOT platonically) and straight up bombarding me with hate and make others see me as a fucked up depraved person who has no idea what they're doing with their life.

im also terriffied of my parents knowing about it, cuz i feel like if i told them, they wouldn't be nice about it or say that it's wrong. keep in mind i've kept my relationship (if anyone would even call it that) with zed conagher a secret from my WHOLE FAMILY, only feeling safe when talking about my non-platonic interest in fictional old men with people online.

so needless to say, im genuinely terrified by the idea of irl people knowing im non-platonically interested in fictional old men (considering fictophilia is basically similar to fictosexual/fictoromantic, with those terms falling under the definition of a person who is attracted to fictional characters), and it's plain to see that im terrified about being seen as a disgusting person who just says fictophiliac shit like "oh i dont rlly liek real ppl as much and prefer fictional characters over anything" for attention (that would be DISGUSTING).

i honestly wish i could've gotten this out much sooner, but i was just too much of a coward to even vent about this type of thing.

i hope you guys understand that this thought has been really hard for me to get away from, and i can finally end the torture by venting about it

if i were to be honest about this, i believe that if you were able to see how i feel about the whole idea and whatnot, you could probably see how hard this fight really is for me.
