Moving to a new city is hard. The day had been filled with lugging heavy boxes up the stairs to your new apartment, and of course, with your luck the elevator was broken. Maybe you should’ve listened to your mom and hired movers. This whole process could’ve been a lot easier.

You know what you deserve? A sweet treat. You remembered seeing a cafe down the street from your place. You grabbed your coat and made your way.

As you opened the door to the small business, the smell of caffeine filled your nose. You noticed that the line was kinda long, which was a total bummer. You just wanted to relax after your stressful morning. You were already there, so there was no point in going home. In line, the sound of chatter between the other customers took over your ears. It came to your attention how packed the place really was. Instead of eavesdropping, you looked around at all the decorations the cafe had up. Before you knew it, it was your turn to order. You placed your go to cafe order and the cashier speedily rang you up. They let you know that your food and drink will be ready on the other end of the counter. You nodded to them with a simple smile.

Your order came out faster than expected. You looked around for a seat. Almost all of them were taken, except a small table with two seats in the very back.

A few bites in, a figure approached you.

“Excuse me. Is this seat open?”

You look up to lock eyes with the cutest guy.

“Uh, no.” You slightly stumble across your words, taken aback by his beauty. “It’s all yours.” You gesture towards the chair.

He let out a chuckle at your reaction and flashed you a smile. “Thanks.” He set down a freshly made iced americano and a book.

“Of course.”

How did you get so lucky to end up sitting with a guy with a face like that?? And why did you have to be so awkward??

You pull out your phone to scroll on social media to take your mind off the slightly awkward interaction. You sneak a glance at him as he quietly reads his book.

“Hey, I’m gonna go the restroom. I’ll be back in a second.” You let him know.

He nodded his head.

On the way back from the bathroom, you saw that he left.

Where did the cute guy go? Did you scare him off? Were you too awkward? You didn’t even get the chance to properly have a conversation with him

You palm your head as you approached your seat.

On the table was a small slip of paper that read

“Call me xxx-xxx ;)”
