I joined a challenge from an art community on X. Decided to join the 1st week (which was last week) with an abandoned OC that really needed a rework. Pose reference below.

Probably not a lot of people know what this is. This is from a Russian (comedy? drama?) movie called "Vasiliy/Василий" (2025).

In some odd attempt to fight my art block, I decided to practice drawing and coloring with scenes from the movie. The colors in this movie is quite saturated, so it fits my style. They even put the hilariously stereotypical yellow filter for the Mexico scenes, lol!

They're drawn and colored on different days, you can kinda see the difference in quality XD

I still have some stuff I wanted to draw from this movie. We'll see if I go through with it.

Similarities between Sweden and Indonesia

I found these posters on IKEA and can't help but think of their Hetalia versions, despite them not having interacted in canon at all.

Fun fact: IKEA had several problems upon first entering Indonesia. They had a legal dispute with a local furniture brand over the name "IKEA". IKEA initially lost because the local brand had registered the name before them. Despite that, IKEA is still able to operate in Indonesia to this day.

Id: Ceritanya habis upacara 17 Agustusan. Makan mi tarempa buat pemanasan sebelum lomba makan kerupuk.

Gagal ngepost kemarin gara-gara minggu ini sibuk :( Sebenarnya ini salah satu dari 2 gambar buat challenge komunitas, tapi mungkin gambar yang satunya akan ku-post suatu saat.

Eng: After the independence day ceremony. Eating tarempa noodles as a warm-up before participating in the kerupuk (crackers)-eating contest, a staple independence day festivities.

I failed on finishing this piece yesterday (August 17th) because this week was kinda hectic :( This is actually one of the 2 pieces I'm planning for a community challenge, but maybe I'll finish the other one another day.

Tarempa noodles: a type of noodle from Riau Islands, Indonesia usually served with tuna and bean sprouts.
