I do use this lens for most of my events. I love that this is the easiest boca machine I own. It is just as old as I am, and a little slower for auto focus. If you take your time to know your settings this isn't a problem. I really love how tack sharp my albums look with this. It works pretty decently at high F stops doing landscape photography as well. It is a beast. Not only is it heavy, it's loud. There are newer EF versions of this that do better with the sound and weight, but here I am, still loving this lens.
