I think it's so very underrated the amount of things you can learn when reading fanfiction. I'm always learning not only new vocabulary but a surprising amount of history and science. It's always obvious when a writer studies or works in a specific field bc they sneak facts into their stories and let me tell you, I AM THEIR AUDIENCE

It is embarrassing when I have to find some excuse as to how I know something when I regurgitate those facts in my daily life but I still love it

I get to enjoy a favorite past time and passively learn cool shit

So if you're a writer and you wonder whether your little info dump is too much or unappreciated, you are wrong. I appreciate you and your nerd outs
