some TCRI color keys i did for TMNT Mutant Mayhem , these were paint overs of 3d block in provided by our second cg vendor Cinesite in Vancouver. They came in later in production to support us finishing the film in the last year. Color Keys can be very rough, happy with the looseness balance in 2 of these and wish i had tightened up the 3rd.

パニ亀に関してはまたブルーレイが出たときにあらためてブログで感想を書きたい。

さて、忘れた頃に買い物アプリから突然の出荷通知。何か買ったかな？と確認すると…

旧実写の1作目ブルーレイ！

日本では旧実写1作目のみ円盤化されておらず、なかなか観られる機会がなかった作品です。

この度めでたく2Kレストア円盤化。ブルーレイのみで、DVDは発売されてないみたい。

しっかりした厚手の紙製スリーブの中にトールケースとブックレットのようなものが。

黒いのは三つ折りフォルダだった。その中にブックレット。トールケースにはリーフレット封入。

おー、コレは。

当時の日本で配布された映画チラシと、映画パンフレットを小さいサイズで再現！かわゆい。

パンフレットは、当時のアメリカでのタートルズ熱狂ぶりと、日本の『な、なんかワカランけどアメリカでドッカンドッカンきてる作品だから俺たちも楽しもう…！（こう？こんな感じのノリで合ってる…？）』という若干の戸惑いが垣間見れるので面白い。

ばばん。コレが1作目キャスト。ちょこちょこ���役違いますな。当時の吹き替え入ってて良かった〜。時間つくってじっくり楽しみます。

I am happy to announce that i won an Award for my color key work on TMNT Mutant Mayhem from the Concept Art Association at Lightbox Expo this past weekend! I’ve included some of my work and a clip of my silly speech. Awards are a silly thing, they can often be arbitrary, the only people that care are the people who are nominated 😂 but i’m feeling very validated anyway💚🥷🐢

A bunch of paintings i did for the old version of the TMNT Mutant Mayhem script. back when the turtles went to high-school near the end of act 1. There was a montage where the turtles just WALK IN to school and of course all of the agencies, FEMA, CIA, FBI, ATF, NYPD and Animal Control show up and capture them, they go to the white house, the pentagon, there is a protest at city hall, etc. These were all matte painting targets and helped develop the background style in this early stage

A huge batch of color keys i did for the mid credits high-school sequence in TMNT Mutant Mayhem, including some vertical phone ones. keys are a weird thing because they are sort of cobbled together from rough 3d and other artists paintings, lots of collaboration and recycling to increase efficiency

Prop paintings for TMNT mutant mayhem , the guns are from a cut longer version of the ice cream heist and the tools are from an old version of the chop shop fight. the fish are somewhere in the background of the no digity scene

メイヘムのキャラデザイン、立体化すると映えるぅぅぅフォトジェニック・フィギュアはメイヘム大優勝ですよ！！！

しかも、レザーヘッドは関節可動数がとても多くてポージングが容易なので最高です。一生 遊べる。

いやっふぅー！届いた届いた。

最新映画のベーシックフィギュアですよ。

6月に予約して、ずっと待ってたよー。

ロックステディのルックスがヤバイ。

ブリスター中の４分の1が顔じゃん。どうなってんの。

兄弟！

今回のベーシックフィギュア、関節可動部分が多くて最高。膝が動くのホント助かる。予約購入で待った甲斐がありました。

ミュータントメイヘムのフィギュア、めちゃくちゃ可愛いな？？？？？プレイメイツのフィギュアが可愛いと思ったことなんてコレが初めてだよ。

もはや好きなアニメ作品のフィギュアというより、擬人化動物フィギュアとして良すぎる。

結局、我慢できずにレザーヘッドもポチってしまった。届くのが楽しみです。

alt t-shirt designs for April and Splinter. it was fun thinking about what April would be into, turns out it’s basquiat, bell hooks snd hyperpop. For splinter’s flashback scene we wanted radio tshirts and touristy new york shirts, we ended up going with the apple because of its simplicity. all the April deigns were to distracting so we opted for an impressionistic scribble instead.

4 color keys i did for the April Puke flashback scene in TMNT Mutant Mayhem. I tried to capture that harsh florescent lighting that is so common in schools! Color keys are supposed to be loose and quick. there is a lot of collaging assets that already exist from the scene together. for example, i chopped comped in the the highschool banner ( by chalky wong) and the original painting design for the cafeteria (by garrett lee) into these keys to get them down faster. this late stage production work is often pressed for time!

For those of you who don’t know, I’m teaching a class on Visdev with a focus on personal aesthetic growth in October this year vis Underpaint Academy! Signups for the Spectator option are still available! I’ll be going into detail about my experience and process working on games and Animated films such as TMNT Mutant Mayhem, Spider-man Across the Spider-verse and Mitchell’s vs the Machines! The class is 9 sessions, 4 hours each. we will also have guest lectures and critiques focused on specific assignment weeks (character design, set design and key frame. Come learn with us! We had a great time last class!

My Designs for the Gowanus overpass in TMNT mutant Mayhem, the place where the Turtles meet Superfly. i included some of the packeting materials, sketches and photo reference that all go into designing a set as well as the main painting.
