D&D 5e supposedly has a GM shortage and idk maybe if the player culture of the game didn't treat GMing as a thankless job and the rules of the game as an issue to be fixed by the GM maybe things would be better. Personally I think that battle sims like showdown would still be a thing in the pokemon world. Cuz like picture this: you are ten years old and the only Pokémon you have access to is the elderly family Sunflora. You love Sunny to death but also literally every media you consume involves Pokémon battles and champions and cool ass fights. Sunny is too old to fight and your neighbor’s Gothita is too young. One day on the playground your friend tells you about this cool website that lets you battle pokemon on the computer. Later that night you boot up the family computer and instantly realize that this website lets you play as GROUDON (!!!!). There’s no going back from there.

I remember getting frustrated that people were invalidating my points in a class (Global Issues? Idk) by just saying "oh you dont know enough" and not actually like listening to what I had to say. anyway when I got huffy and said very quietly (like no louder than my normal voice) "oh ok if your not gonna listen ill just stop" and let someone else speak my teacher lept up from her chair got in my face and got really mad and said I said I shouldn't act like that and made me like nearly cry. I never spoke in her class again. She never acknowledged me in her class again. I was a highschool freshman so yea what a fun way to break in the year

God has been created thousands of times. some of the Gods love humanity. at least one of them is corrupting the literal fabric of reality into an endless dark sea. i love archotechs
