I wish people knew what terminal velocity meant.
It's not a speed that kills you
It's the velocity at which drag cancels out the acceleration due to gravity, so you stop accelerating downwards, but continue falling at a fixed velocity. (The acceleration terminates)
Different objects have different wind resistances, and therefore different terminal velocities. If you open a parachute, you and the parachute will still reach a terminal velocity, it's just a lot slower than the terminal velocity you'd have without one.

people say folks with adhd struggle with "delayed rewards" aka long term goals and as such we tend to focus more on short term rewards. what they don't talk about is that at when we Do accomplish long term goals we don't actually feel anything proportionate to the amount of work we did to achieve it. In my head I suffered for a while and then money spontaneously appeared in my bank account.

People on tumblr are like "I'm handing all my mutuals a bowl of soup we are kissing with tongue we are the bestest of besties I am killing and dying for you" but sometimes me and the mutuals are posting completely different shit existing on the same blogging platform but really we're just standing in the alley going "ayup" at each other like fucking king of the hill.

When someone has a chronic illness or is disabled and can't work, they say a few common things.
It must be nice to sit around all day/sleep all day.
I wish I could sit around all day and not work.
I wish I could sleep all the time.
They don't want to sleep as much as we have to. They'd feel sick and sluggish.
They don't want to sit around the house all day not doing anything. They'd be bored out of their fucking skull.
It's so unbelievably fucking frustrating, but there's a fundamental lack of understanding.
They liken our lives to a vacation, imagining that it's fun and relaxing and we can do whatever fun things we want to all the time.
In reality, it should be likened to an extended hospital stay. You can't do anything and you feel like shit.

so. um. the good news is we found your boyfriend. the bad news is that, well, we sort of…dug him up…in the middle of a car park. in leicester (buckley et al. 2013). leicester, yeah. sorry. they demolished the friary he was hastily interred in when henry viii dissolved all the monasteries. you know how it is. and as it turns out, well, shakespeare was…sort of right about him. scoliosis, yeah, sorry (appleby et al. 2014). if it makes you feel any better we analysed his bones and it turns out he had a pretty high-protein diet before he died (lamb et al. 2014). and he drank so much wine that it changed their chemical composition, which we didn't know could actually happen before we analysed him (lamb et al. 2014), so he was having a good time, at least.

Bots/Impersonators are stealing my shit again, so here's a reminder that these are my ONLY Tumblrs
THESE ARE MY ONLY TUMBLRS
Since I've already reported one blog for impersonating me (staff did nothing about it, of course--last time I checked, they were still out there using my pic as their pfp, and my real name and location in their url), reminder that the below are my ONLY Tumblrs. If you see anyone else claiming to be me, they're lying. (I'd say report them, but apparently impersonation isn't against Tumblr's TOS.)
