Red tailed black cockatoo rescue visit! These were birds too domesticated to be returned to the wild, ie pet trade birds. The majority of birds were housed in giant aviaries, isolated from people to avoid inprinting. These two sooks were waaay to cute. Randy, the male on my shoulder, was grinding his beak for like 10 mins, while the female I didn't get the name of was getting lots of pats from me. These were two of 15 birds housed in a giant aviary, and they were all very cute!

Karrakin is one of two rehab centres for cockatoos in WA, so they get many birds. They've successfully released about 1,200 birds into the wild of these endangered beauties. The only other black cockatoo rescue in Aus has to euthanise birds that are too friendly for release, but Kaarakin keeps them housed on site, ie they don't euthanise, but also don't allow them to be put into the pet trade.

I am embarrassingly reactive to caffeine, to the point in which my coworker knows if I've had a cup of tea that morning by how chatty I get.

When learning to make coffee, I had half an espresso shot and spent the whole day making double the amount of mistakes in half the amount of time. I got so much faster at doing everything wrong. This is why I do not drink coffee (besides me hating the taste)

I think my love of making overly detailed art came from when I first got my glasses. I was in the car on the way to school getting carsick staring at the trees, because for once in my life, I could see the individual leaves, and it was beautiful.

I've been using the same block of polymer clay for like 3 or 4 years, and I've just run out in the middle of a project. I am SO PISSED about getting a new block, because the texture is completely different!!! I think I got the wrong brand, and it's all brittle and chalky. Unfortunatley I have the type of autism that means that this is completely unnacceptable, so now I'm on the hunt again for the correct one.

I think I can use the new stuff for certain textures, because with how hard it is, it holds tiny details very well, but it just does not stick or hold the same way the old stuff did

I felt a calling today to go to the op shops (aus version of a second hand or thrift shop) and BOY am I glad I did. Found this baby for $15. It's a pleather button up, that is ourwardly gaudy enough to get my attention, but is actually wearable in combination with other stuff I have. Plus, I would have NEVER bought it if I saw it online, like the model is wearing. This shit is oil slick glossy, has a weirdly good texture despite my hatred of pleather and velvety insides, and looks great when you unbutton it enough to show off your tits.

Plus, the actual price was $225 online?!?!? Jesus, I'm glad my taste in fashion is so bad that they didn't look that shit up online. I see pleather jackets from the retail clothes shops that stock shien that sell for $50+.

I think disco elysium did enough damage to my mind that I actually like shit like this, rather than the usual goth/punk esque clothes I found myself liking.
