You closed your eyes with a sigh, enjoying the warm, lingering caresses of the late afternoon sun on your face. The grass beneath you was as soft as a goose down mattress and the smell of blooming spring flowers filled the ear. The birds chirped lazily, hidden among the tree branches, and a busy bee buzzed nearby, feasting on the blue cornflowers. You loved days like these, peace, quiet, no chores to think of, just enjoying the beauty of the world around you in silence.

That was when you heard a  horse neighing. You quickly sat up and opened your eyes. No, it wasn’t a horse – it was a chestnut pony, and it had a rider. And what a rider it was… Oh, my! A wild mane of golden hair, the braids in his hair and beard clasped with beads glittering in the sun, a small smile dancing on his lips as he gazed at you, making a small bow with his head. Oh, Valar! Just look at those eyes! Bright and blue like the cornflowers. One glance at you was enough for you to feel like a hungry bee, drawn towards that sweet goodness. Yes, those certainly were the eyes of a good man. But there was something else in that glance, a mysterious glint. Before you could decipher it, the rider jumped off his pony and led it towards you. 

As he approached you, it became obvious that was a warrior, and a very good one, judging from the amount of impressive weapons on his back, at his belt and by his saddle. He certainly wasn’t one of those healthily rotund Hobbit farmers who lived nearby. His body was honed by endless hours of training and, most probably, battles – judging by that small cut that ran straight through one of his eyebrows and a tear or two in his fur-lined tunic, revealing a chainmail underneath. Those deliciously broad shoulders and the movements that made you think of a prowling panther told you the rest of the story: he came out victorious from this fight, whoever the enemy was. You have never seen a Dwarf warrior before, they weren’t a common sight in these parts, but he looked exactly like you imagined one should look like. I wonder if the legends are true and if they are really made of stone?

“Good afternoon!” he greeted you, stepping towards you, and you stifled a sigh at the sound of his voice. Oh, how wonderfully it would be to wake up to this voice murmuring sweet nothings in your ear, his hot breath fanning your delicate skin. Focus! You needed to focus! Behave! Answer him before he thinks you’re slow or something!

You stood up quickly, straightened your dress and said, “Good afternoon, Master Dwarf! What brings you here?”

You fought the urge to lift your hand to your hair and make sure your tresses are safely tucked away. It wouldn’t do if such a fine specimen of a Dwarf thought that all the daughters of Men have messy hairdos, but a part of you whispered: what if he thinks that you fancy him? A blush spilled on your cheeks. Drat! The last thing you wanted was to make him think you’re one of those easily impressionable young ladies who can’t stop giggling at the sight of a handsome man, be it Dwarf, Elf, Hobbit or one of the Men.

After once again reading Sansûkh, I have realized that we simply don't have enough memes so here you go

I CRYING this is so good

The fiddle was very new, and it sounded it: raw and greenish and too alive. Time and use would mellow its tone and make it an extension of his arm. For now, though, it was unfamiliar and awkward.

Fíli tightened the pegs, tuning it carefully. Then he tucked it beneath his chin. It was lighter than he had expected, and his moustache-beads clacked against the red-stained wood. He ran his hand along the fine, smooth neck and over the carven scroll. It would be a good companion.

“You like it?” 

Taking a breath,  Fíli put the bow to the strings. Normally he played jaunty jigs or reels: songs for singing and dance and drinking. 

But this fiddle wanted to soar and to weep, it appeared. The too-sharp tone began to soften, to float through the great stone Halls. Fíli closed his eyes as he played aimlessly, letting his fingers do as they would. The tune the fiddle pulled from him was a little sad, a little brave - and not unlike some other song he could remember singing in the warm glow of a Hobbit’s hearth.

“That’s pretty. What is it?”

“I don’t know, just came to me then,” said Fíli, and he lowered the new fiddle. “Thank you. It’s a beautiful fiddle; I shall treasure it.”

“Happy name-day, grandson,” said Frís, and she kissed his cheek, before pressing their foreheads together. “Happy name-day.”

(obviously, this is set in the Sansukh-universe, so EVERYBODY IS DEAD, etc etc. That is indeed me playing the violin, a tune I chucked together in about 2 minutes, a sort of variation on ‘Misty Mountains’ I guess. How would they be with you when they found out it's YOUR first Time?

In general both of then are attentive and communicative. Theyd ask what you like calling your anatomy and use those words appropriately.

Theyd always use lube and ensure youre properly slicked. Theyd never risk hurting you. Honestly the idea of you getting hurt during sex is disturbing

To say Fíli was nervous would be a lie. He was scared as fucking hell. But he had already overheard so much and he kept an ear out for these things of course! He was ever a learner and he wasnt about to do anything without knowing what he was doing.

Imagine how  he was feeling when he casually danced around the topic with Dwalin. Just "asking for the future, its important to know." Suffering through Dwalins lengthy talks before he switches gears and asks Balin about the topic more directly.

But the best place for this advice came closer to home when he asks his Amad. Why not? Why not ask his Amad who is a woman she has already given him his basic talk on everything so she may as well tell him how to ensure it wont hurt his partner.that and he argues "kíli will come to me. I need to know for him too."

So he isnt totally unaware!! Whether his fingers are stretching out your a.ss or gently rubbing and pressing your entrance, slowly stretching and helping you break through with as little discomfort as possible.

If you have an intact - what have i seen it called in fanfic lol- "maiden head" hes going to take a look and see what state its in and how to stretch it best.

So much communication..and so much stopping and reassurance. Hes a soft dom type hes going to be praising you, complimenting you, telling you how beautiful or handsome you are etc.  Listening to your needs and watching and listening to how your body responds.

"Look at you, so beautiful and trembling. Does it feel good? Oh. Im so glad to hear that. Mmm? What was that? Use your words, amrâlimê. You want more? I do too. But we have all night, dont we? Lets enjoy this."

Hes very attentive and if you want him to go fast he wil. If you want him to go slow he will.

Hes asking hes worshipping you and hes delighting in the emotional intimacy of it all. Because he loves you and you alone more than anything. Expect so many kisses to your lips and neck. Gentle slow kisses. He can be rough and passionate later but with this hes going to embody slow emotional love making unless you request otherwise.

He didnt know it was your first time until its too late and now hes trying to remember what fíli told him about this! Oh mahal!!

Attentive and communicative hes going to keep your comfort at the forefront at all times.

"Ive got you, i promise."

Enthusiastic. If youre intact hes going to stare and be completely confused "why? Why is it like this??" He presses a fingertip gently, then his eyes widen at the moans escaping your lips. "Oh!oh?! Ohhhh!!!" His brows waggle devilishly at you. "Ohhhh amrâlimê."

Playful. But careful watching your every reaction like a hawk

Like Fíli hes going to take time stretching out any hole hes using before he enters you. He isnt going to hurt you. Even if you beg for him to just get it over with and go in he isnt going to. Unlike fíli he doesnt have the stomach for it. He cant handle the idea of hurting you.

He may placate you by pulling your hair and becoming more dominate. Telling you to "wait" and "stay still" or "be good".

If youre intact and you bleed he may get a bit unnerved and ask you more than once if youre alright.

Expect a lot more checking on your well being with kí and a lot of eating out. He may even break your seal with his tongue instead!

The next time he sees you he will have many gifts for you because he heard this was a special occasion and he really wants you to know how much he loves you and how much you mean to him.

Ao3 literally saved my life. More than once.

Ao3 is actually massively culturally important and very very good at being what it is. I’m so serious when I say that ao3 needs to be protected as the anti censorship, by fans for fans, nonprofit, volunteer run, expertly designed archival site that it is. You don’t have to read or like fanfiction to understand that on principle, ao3 is a site that should be defended.

nothing will ever amaze me the way fanfiction authors do. like, you wrote silly little stories about my favorite little guys? and i can read them?? for free??? that’s fucking wild.

you poured your heart and soul and very being into your writing and then put it out there for anyone to read? insane.

you spend a truly incredible amount of time writing novel-length, high quality stories, again, FOR FREE, that anyone can read, again, FOR FREE??

If you’re new here, TRSB  is a Tolkien-fandom-wide event celebrating the talent of our fanwork creators. Participating artists create a piece of art to be claimed by a signed up author. Authors will then write a 5k word fic based on the art they chose.

As well as signing up as an author and/or artist, you can sign up as a beta, cheerleader, pinch hitter, or treat maker.

Explanations of what all of these mean can be found in the relevant section of our FAQ.  Sign-ups for these roles will remain open for the duration of the event and will get you access to the gallery. However, you must be signed up as an author to claim.

This includes movieverse (i.e. the LOTR and Hobbit trilogies), lesser known works by Tolkien (such as The Father Christmas Letters), and/or other works with a clear link to his life or creative output (for example, Tolkien's translations and academic texts, the 2019 Tolkien biopic, fan-made films like Born of Hope, and game canons such as The Lord of the Rings Online). Crossovers between two or more Tolkien canons are permitted.
