GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH: NOAA forecasters say that G1/G2 geomagnetic storms are possible today, June 25th, when a stream of solar wind is expected to hit Earth. The gaseous material is flowing from an equatorial hole in the sun's atmosphere. High latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras.

無心 (mu-shin) “no-mind” or “nothingness mind”
Tumblr media
An important concept in meditation and martial arts.
If you have mu-shin, your mind is free from thoughts, desires and assumptions.
As the Buddhist nun Reverend Jiyu-Kennett once said: “It’s nothing... but it’s the fullest kind of nothing there ever was!”
When your mind is clear, and you are free from ego and can act naturally and spontaneously.
The artwork in the photo is an original one-off, available from my Etsy store here.

龍 (ryū) "dragon"
Tumblr media
If you visit a shrine or temple in Japan, make sure to look up at the ceiling of the main room.
Often there will be a painting of a dragon.
One reason is that dragons represent the virtue of courage.
Another, more superstitious reason is that dragons are associated with the element of water, and so are a protection against fire. This is very important in a country where wood is the main building material.
If you look closely, you'll notice that the dragon is clutching a ball in one of its feet. Much like their European counterparts, Japanese dragons like to collect precious objects. These balls are the "Dragon Ball" of the eponymous comic book - the ball-shaped jewels that grant the owner wishes.
Buddhists speak of the "jewel within the lotus" - a boundless compassion. It is cryptically described as "the jewel that grants all desires", and represented pictorially as a precious jewel - the Dragon Ball.
The above artwork is available on my Etsy shop here.

To ordinary consciousness, we seem to be corporeal bodies, mostly, fixed by gravity and stitched by pain and mortality to this gravid earth. But we are, rather, systems, energies, exchanges, projections, programs, force fields, and continuous enactments of tenebrous scripts both conscious and unconscious. What animates this assemblage of matter that we inhabit when we are born? What blows spiritus into the lungs of the bawling infant? That spiritus—éspirit, re-spiration, in-spiration—is energy, a force field blowing, blowing through eternity into time-bound bodies whose curving trajectory brings them inexorably back to earth. Even as plummet-bound bodies, decaying, dying as we lurch through life, we remain nonetheless force fields of energy, dancing on the grave of history and aflame with eternal fires.
