#& it's textarea and not contenteditable... magic

I've seen someone on DW have a list of things in a scrollable textarea field, and I checked the page source to see how they're doing this, but it's just. it's just a list. meanwhile, when I try to do this, I always get a slab of text with <br> inbetween. when I tried to look it up, i learned that you can't really format text inside a textarea. conclusion: ????

edit: nevermind. I tried a little something, and in the process completely deleted a post I've been working on for 3 hours.

edit edit: oh. it's easy. you simply have to. do the whole thing in html AND not switch back to rich text. i'm sure this makes sense to smart people
