"I have a vague feeling that we're quite similar." His grin stretches up to his ears. Leaning back against the chair, he's amused to find that this time, the guard on duty isn't another one of the BSA's imposingly tall, menacing-looking men evidently hired to remind its detainees of who is truly in charge. He had been, as far as he'd go to evaluate himself, rather obedient so far. He wasn't like most of the detainees in the BSA who cussed and swore, or made a huge display of their uncouth manners. They might have thought that it made them cool and worthy of being feared, while Jade thought it made them look nothing but embarrassing. "An admirable resolve is required to disobey the desires of the heart. As I've heard, you too had to leave the side of someone you held dear to come here, did you?" [ As promised, I'm here to harass Pat ]
Patroclus had just given his report to the higher-ups from his last mission and was going to return to his apartment for a well-deserved rest when two other agents walked past his side, loudly complaining about a certain man. He stopped in his tracks, pensiveness adorning his features as curiosity got the best of him. Rather than walking towards the elevator to exit the organization's facilities, he went to the interrogation area and there they were. There was a special type of frustration that Jade managed to bring in most of the agents that had to deal with them.

"Here again, Jade?" He asked but instead of receiving a vague or victimizing answer, he saw the other grinning. Jade's smiles were always dishonest and quite unnatural but this was the first time he saw them grin. It was the grin of a predator, the type that made him feel like they knew something he didn't and he was about to fall into their trap like how an insect falls into the spider's web. He didn't have to wait long to learn what they were plotting as he took a seat before them.
"I'm afraid I don't follow," he admitted. Patroclus' expression remained neutral but to be told that you're similar to a mystery nuisance with psychopathic tendencies would've anyone doing some self-reflection. Fortunately, this 'similarity' they spoke of had nothing to do with his character so Patroclus could breathe again. Unfortunately, this meant that Jade got curious about him and started looking into his past. "But, since you asked, no. You got it wrong in something. I had to leave them because it was the best for them and their future. You know how old-fashioned mage families still are to this day." Having an impeccable reputation, getting married to a woman from a good family, having children, and so on, all of the things that an exiled mage who had his magic sealed couldn't give.
Even if the poets may say otherwise, love is not enough.
But in trying to strip him off his walls, Jade had exposed some of theirs as well. This had to be the first time he saw them 'open up' in a sense. "I didn't expect you to ever openly admit to having a heart," the BSA agent said without an ounce of irony or mockery. It was truly surprising for Jade share to share any information. "Who did you leave behind?"
